Lake Erie River Parks

Separated from Downtown Toledo by the Maumee River and bordering Lake Erie, Oregon is a picturesque suburb with terrific water views and beautiful parks. Pearson Metropark, located in the heart of Oregon, covers 624 acres and protects what's left of the Great Black Swamp, a forest that once covered most of Northwest Ohio. The park also features fishing areas, a playground, ball fields, tennis courts, and areas for ice skating and sledding. The historic Johlin Cabin, a cabin built in the 1800s, is also located in the park. On Lake Erie, Maumee Bay State Park covers 1,336 acres and provides a lodge, cottages, a golf course, and a beach. Activities in the park include camping, boating fishing, golfing, swimming, hiking, and biking.

While life in Toledo revolves around the lakes, river, and parks, the city also offers a strong economy for those who prefer to live, work, and play in the same city. The BP Toledo Refinery, CITGO Petroleum Corporation, and Midwest Terminals-Toledo International are all located here. Oregon is also home to two hospitals, Bay Park Community Hospital and Mercy St. Charles Hospital. With Toledo just about 15 minutes away, residents can also visit the Toledo Zoo, the Toledo Art Museum, Valentine Theatre, and Huntington Center.
