Love Petworth, it's lively Georgia ave./Petworth metro is here (obviously). No matter what time it is you will always see ppl walking around. The gentrification going on is crazy and unfortunate but it is a beautiful diverse neighborhood.

I moved here for 8 years when I could still afford a row house. Now it's getting pricy in this neighborhood. Check out the hidden treasure nobody mentions - The Lincoln cottage in the old soldiers home. It's a great museum open to the public. That general campus is also home to one of the best public charter schools in DC - CMI (Creative Minds International) This neighborhood is beautiful and is rapidly gaining popularity for young families.

Petworth has an exciting array of bars of restaurants and is very eccentric. Just be careful about what street you turn down.

I just wish there were more African Americans living around my block.

Visit President Lincoln's Cottage, a historical building turned museum at the south of the community, to see Abraham Lincoln's residence and experience multimedia presentations of the issues Lincoln considered there. Take part in the annual Celebrate Petworth festival, which a group of community organizers created to celebrate creativity, culture, people, and quality of life in the neighborhood.
