The housing option in Seattle in terms of affordability are very slim. Housing rents have jumped and homes sales are competitive in the right neighborhoods and expensive with property taxes climbing. Seattle is no longer affordable for the middle class / working class as the housing cost take at least 1/3 - 1/2 of a single persons income at least for a desirable location. Two live cheaper than one but it still takes a chunk of your income.

The area has some of the best selection of outdoor activities such as skiing, cold water scuba diving, kayaking, sailing and bike trails. There are also lots of local county and state parks, fabulous national parks.
