I know plenty of people who have searched for a job for a long time and couldn't find one. I have only seen some success in the fast food place.

Living in Progress/Colonial Park

History

-

Lower Paxton Township, home to Colonial Park and part of Progress, has remained the same area since the township was formed in 1815. The area was settled prior to that in the 1700s, with its name of Paxton given by Scottish settlers to mean "town of peace." Another theory ascribes the name as a form of "Paxtang" that would have come from the Native Americans that had settled in the area.

European immigrants mostly settled the area as rural farm country, with Colonial Park being one of the first villages settled. The region played an important role in the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War and hosted important trails for early settlers.

Colonial Park currently hosts the East Shore Public Library, the main public library in Dauphin County.

For a drink after work, Susquehanna Ale House supplies a huge variety of craft bottled beers, draught beer, cider and spirits. This spot serves local breweries, including Yards, Stoudt's, Appalachian Brewing Co., Boxcar Brewing Co. and Victory Brewing Co. Susquehanna Ale House's menu provides a perfect accompaniment to these local beers, with a pub-style menu that includes hand-pressed burgers, Guiness beef stew, loaded mac and cheese, and a wide selection of fries. Like some of the bars in the area, the Susquehanna Ale House also offers live entertainment.

The Colonial Park and Progress areas host several of the areas largest movie theaters. Regal Cinema Harrisburg Stadium 14, located next to The Shoppes at Susquehanna Marketplace, offers 14 screens with stadium-style seating.
