Chicago's northernmost neighborhood is also one of the most popular. Rogers Park extends along Lake Michigan, providing gorgeous beaches and park space for residents to enjoy. Stroll around this dynamic neighborhood and you'll likely hear several languages -- it is estimated that at least 40 different languages are spoken in Rogers Park. Part of the reason for that is its university -- Loyola University Chicago, established in 1870 as a private Catholic university, is located in the southeast section of Rogers Park. Northwestern University, located just two miles north of the neighborhood, also draws new residents to Rogers Park. This private research university is considered one of the best in the nation and ranked as the 20th best university in the world in 2017.
Historic, brick apartment buildings stand in neat rows along tree-lined streets in Rogers Park, considered one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago. After moving to Rogers Park, you'll discover brightly-painted murals, theaters, art galleries, and even a sculpture garden in the Glenwood Avenue Arts District. Head to Clark Street and discover a new favorite restaurant for every night of the week, ranging from Mexican to Romanian to Italian to Nigerian and beyond. Go shopping along Rogers Avenue or spend the afternoon at Pottawattomie Park. Spend summer days soaking up the sun at Loyola Beach. Hop on the "L" -- you'll find subway stations at Howard Street, Jarvis Avenue, and Morse Avenue -- to explore the rest of the Windy City.

I grew up living and going to school in Rogers Park. The neighborhood has amazing shops and food, as well as beautiful scenery by Lake Michigan. However, the large amount of gang activity on the north side of the neighborhood has always made me feel unsafe.

I love Rogers Park. I like that it is so accessible you can walk or use public transport almost everywhere. I would like to see less of the unhoused community in this neighborhood and more healing to the victims of drug abuse.

Excellent place to live. Nearby universities for higher education. Diversity in the neighborhood allows people to learn, grow, and understand each other. I have some neighbors who have different ethnicity. Whether they are from Israel, Jordan, Jamaica, Afghansaian, or even Causatian. Rogers Park has it all.

LOVE this area. Plethora of local business to explore, and also for Chicago areas, relatively safe. Good access to public transportation and a good amount of park and beach areas for the community.
