Designated as a Houston Super Neighborhood, South Acres-Crestmont Park's residents, community service agencies, commercial landowners, and institutions coalesce into a single group focused on the improvement, growth, and maintenance of the neighborhood.

Just outside the neighborhood to the north lies the American Cowboy Museum. Preserving the multicultural aspects of the Old West, the museum features a unique collection of items documenting art, history, and culture. The museum offers tours, and oral historians tell stories while dressed in period attire.
