South Barrington lies about 34 miles northwest and just over a 30-minute drive from Downtown Chicago and provides an idyllic suburban setting around a network of well-maintained ponds and water features. There are upscale apartment complexes and sprawling single-family homes for rent. The community is surrounded by forest preserves, green spaces and parks, and the Sears Centre Arena lies on the western border of South Barrington, along with massive retail centers and recognizable restaurants.
