Consisting of five adult country club communities, Sun Lakes is a master-planned community wrapped around several nine- and 18-hole golf courses, a variety of restaurants, club houses, cafes, community swimming pools, tennis courts, driving ranges, hot tubs, stocked fishing lakes, walking paths, and fantastic mountain views. Nearby, Chandler Fashion Center Mall provides a terrific shopping and dining destination, and Sun Lakes is filled with shopping plazas as well as spas, boutiques, and a community college campus.

Located about 20 minutes from Phoenix, Sun Lakes is convenient to several area highways, including I-10. A variety of tech companies are well within commuting distance from Sun Lakes, including Intel, which is located on the north end of Sun Lakes. Gila River Memorial Airport is adjacent to Sun Lakes for longer trips.
