Living in Timberwolf

History

-

Timberwolf sits within the central region of El Paso, a city which began as a small village on the Rio Grande River. It held a position as the largest settlement in New Mexico until 1948, when the United States took control of the area after the Mexican-American War. Population growth occurred after the Civil War and during the Mexican Revolution, with industries such as mining and oil refining developing along the way. Today, El Paso houses a variety of businesses and industries, helping Texas maintain its status as one of the most populated states in the nation.

The city holds several annual events, but none take place within Timberwolf. While the neighborhood doesn't have any art galleries or museums, the Fort Bliss Museum can be found a short drive north on Marshall Road.

Restaurants

-

Timberwolf's dining scene features a mix of international cuisine options at inexpensive to moderate prices.

For a taste straight from the Mediterranean, try Casa Pizza Italian and Greek Cuisine. A casual, quiet vibe makes this restaurant the ideal choice for a relaxing lunch or dinner. Casa has an excellent veggie pizza that even non-vegetarians enjoy, although those looking for more meat can get the meat lover's pizza. Open since 1987, this restaurant uses only the freshest ingredients, so you taste the quality with every bite.

Los Bandidos De Carlos & Mickey’s makes diners feel like they've gone south of the borders for an authentic Mexican meal. The enchiladas stand out on this menu, packed with flavor and a spicy kick to each bite. If you feel like cutting loose, make sure to get one of this restaurant's extra-large margaritas with you dish. Historic pieces on display go well with Los Bandidos' Mexican theme, giving you something to look at while you enjoy the lively, family-friendly atmosphere here. Expect live music acts on weekends and some week nights as well.

Nightlife in the neighborhood mainly consists of local bars, with clubs and lounges in the surrounding areas. For cheap drinks, a DJ and some karaoke nights, go to Twinz Lounge. Friendly bartenders make you feel right at home, while drink specials bring prices even lower. Twinz also has a couple of pool tables, so those with a competitive streak can get a game going.
