An hour south of Memphis on Highway 61, Tunica is a tiny town that has built a respectable tourism industry. Multiple museums explore the region’s history as both a cultural incubator and an agricultural powerhouse. The historic downtown district along Main Street is a charming area full of antique shops and tree-lined sidewalks.
The casino resorts in town are the most popular attractions among visitors and frequently host national touring acts. For family-friendly entertainment, the Tunica RiverPark complex features an aquarium and a series of interactive exhibits. For outdoor recreation, Tunica is surrounded by wide-open spaces, and folks have many options to get into golf, hunting, and fishing.
