Westwood Community South is a riverside neighborhood located less than three miles from Downtown Tamarac. Westwood, a group of seven contiguous single family home communities in Tamarac, were originally age restricted to residents age 55 and older, but more and more of the communities have expanded to include all ages. Westwood comprises the last group of communities built as part of Tamarac's planned development.

The nearby Coral Springs Museum of Art supports the local arts scene with workshops and classes, exhibits, and hands-on events including annual events such as the wine-tasting gala. Another nearby attraction worth noting, Butterfly World, holds the distinction of being the largest butterfly park in the world. With an average of 20,000 butterflies filling the air at any given time, magical doesn’t even begin to describe this experience.

Nearby Riverside Park caters to roller hockey and sand volleyball. This park has a boat ramp for small craft. Free to enter and park, some of the activities carry fees, and the pavilion there can be rented too. Right up the road, Dr. Paul’s Dog Park in the Sportsplex at Coral Springs provides agility equipment and an open field where Fido can frolic off-leash to his heart’s delight. Open after dark and well-lit, Dr. Paul’s allows those who work late to still enjoy some quality time with their furry pals.

Coral Springs has numerous annual events including a Mellow Vibes networking festival, and a BizArt festival with live bands, face painting, and great food.
