Ideally located about 10 miles southwest of Newark and 18 miles from New York City, Roselle is a cozy borough for those looking for a quieter place to call home. First settled around 1664, Roselle was settled by farmers looking for better farmland. It was part of the first New Jersey settlement called Elizabethtown. The borough was officially incorporated in 1894 as Roselle.
Today, this terrific community features beautiful parks and great shopping. Warinanco Park, the borough's largest park, offers ball fields, a running track, a playground, pedal boats, an ice skating rink, a fitness trail, a bicycle path, fishing, a spray pool, tennis courts, picnic areas, and shuffleboard. Roselle's tree-lined streets are mainly residential, with a shopping district located between Westfield Avenue and West 1st Avenue.

Property Ratings at Lockwood Village
Staff is rude, the process of renting is too long and complicated, they just want to collect applications money and waste your time
I’ve been here for 5 years now and I can honestly say a lot has changed. The maintenance team was trash when I got here and nothing ever got fixed. But the owner replaced 95% of the staff both in the ground and in the office. Ppl answer the phone now when you have a question and the turn around for help in my apartment is less then 24hrs. The team is pleasant, honest, and works with me when a job may take longer then expected. Con: paying $25 for parking spot that’s first come first serve. Foundation cracks resulting in rain leaks and non stop bugs. The crawl space under my apt is always open so every 3 months I’m forced to call about cat fights in the middle of the night and the smell of a dead animal that fills my place. Pros: affordable 1 bed room, rent goes up very little each year, staff is great with communication (Diane is amazing!)and bug guys are on it every month. I would def take video and photo for insurance. And purchase your own shovel for the winter as the maintenance team is small and can not shovel all the stairs and walkways timely. No dogs are allowed but I see many on the property so I would be careful with that as well.
Pros: Rent is affordable for 1 bedroom Cons: 2 bedroom is over priced for something not new Pros: Close to all major highways and transportation Cons: Parking your car in the lot is first come first serve, however could be changed if they would have someone frequent the lots because people who don’t live in the complex still park their cars in the lots and covered parking spaces. Pros: Close to all the necessary and wanted shopping Cons: Expect to find tenants and workers using grocery carts throughout the complex and leaving them everywhere Overall: It’s decent, but spend the extra money on the newer apartment complex and/or apartments nearby!
DO NOT RENT AN APARTMENT HERE! You have to buy your own refrigerator and pay for your own carpet if living on a 2nd floor unit. The maintenance workers are terrible! They never come when you call them for help with an issue. They will lie on you and try to blame you for the issues. The up keep around the complex is horrible! Lots of bugs and spiders in the apartment. A lot Squirrels and Skunks running around outside. If you do move here, make sure you record everything from move-in to when you leave. The amount of rent to live here is too much for the lack of service and accommodations.
The heat is poor, when it cold outside it's cold in your apt. When it's hot outside, it's hot in the apt. Still using radiators, definitely not what it should be. The water is always getting cut off for repair
this is my first apartment. I really like it so far. I have a one bedroom and its huge! The neighbors are really friendly. Right behind my building is a shopping center that has grocery store laundromat dollar store Sears and dunkin donuts! I don't take public transportation but busses come right in front the leasing office and the highway entrances are nearby but just far enough for peace. There is ample parking lots and its no extra charge. There's even ample street parking. My only complaint is 2nd floor tenants have to carpet the place out of their own pocket. It is in the lease though and it's my only complaint so far.
Wonderful park like setting. Great location. Shopping center next door with everything you need. Nice apartment complex and nice staff.
I wanted to rent from this place in the worst way BUT if you rent an apartment on the 2nd floor you must carpet 85% of it (which is everything but the bathroom and kitchen) and when you move, you must REMOVE the carpet. This is a HUGE , unnecessary cost. They should carpet it themselves if they find it necessary to keep the noise down between the 2nd and 1st floor.
