The historic community of Downtown Lowell first began in 1826, when it was settled and became a hub for textile mills and factories during the Industrial Revolution. Today, you can witness its history at the Lowell National Historic Park on Kirk Street, down the road from the interactive exhibits at the Tsongas Industrial History Center.
Many of Downtown Lowell’s former mill factories are now home to modern office spaces, apartments, boutiques, and restaurants. Downtown’s Middle Street is a quiet, brick-paved roadway featuring numerous places to dine. The Old Court Irish Pub is an excellent spot for a pint and traditional Irish cuisine.
The Merrimack River, Boarding House Park, and the Eastern Canal are all in walking distance of Downtown Lowell apartments. We have lived at Loft Two Seven for almost seven years. It’s clean and friendly, has a wonderful entrance. We love it here, we love the location, close to great restaurants and Lowell Auditorium. As soon as the bridge is open it will be a great place to walk the canal.

Loft Two Seven offers spacious floor plans, in unit laundry, off street parking, and up-to-date appliances. The management is friendly and accessible. Despite the good aspects of living here, the value for the money is not great. That speaks more to just how expensive rent has become, as opposed to any serious issues with the units. On top of rent being increased by nearly $400/month when we renewed our lease, we also have to pay a substantial amount for parking each month (even in the lots that do not have reserved spaces). Also, expect to pay over $200/month in electricity as it takes an immense amount of energy to heat and cool the units.

Yes, rents everywhere have increased quite a bit this past year, both due to limited supply/increased demand for housing and also to catch up after being held relatively flat the past two years during the pandemic, despite expenses increasing significantly. The site does offer four parking options: reserved parking along the side of the building, our A & B lots and lastly parking in the city garage 1 block away. Loft 27 has been a very positive experience for my family and me. We are here temporarily while our home is being renovated. The apartment was in excellent condition when we moved in and is very spacious. I feel comfortable and safe here. It is in walking distance to some nice restaurants and other shops such as Mill 5.

I love my apartment, and the service people were great. Its a place Id live in for forever, but the parking situation is the reason Im not renewing my lease. I cant even have a guest over without their car being towed. I really really hate the parking situation! You end up being isolated cause no one can visit you. Either they park miles away (and walk in the rain, snow, sun) or get towed and pay $200. The parking fee should be integrated into rent, and spots should be first come first serve on a daily basis. To the very least, have visitors parking.
Great space with very generous areas, good quality appliances, clean and peaceful, with a nice view of the canal. The location in Lowell city center is very convenient, restaurants and services are withing walking distance, and the street is well lit and safe. The tall windows let in a lot of light and make the space feel airy. Unfortunately, due to the fact that there are no windows in the bedroom, it is always dark, despite the large opening on the wall. Due to this opening, there is no possibility to avoid noise coming from the kitchen/living/dining area, and total privacy can't be achieved. Another inconvenience is the distance from the building to the city parking lot (it's deceivingly close, but it can take up to 10 minutes to get from the building to your car). Overall, my husband and I had a very pleasant year at Loft 27. The staff is friendly and professional, the main areas are kept clean and organized, and the communication was fast and effective.
Pretty good apartments. The high ceilings are nice as are the women in the front office. The floors are carpeted because the original mill floor is old and creaky, so hearing your neighbor's footsteps is something to get used to.
I highly recommend Loft Two Seven for apartment living. The management and maintenance staff are personable, responsive and professional. The building is very well cared for and my apartment is not only beautiful, I feel safe and secure.
Loft Two Seven is the best residential community in Lowell. It's location, staff and units can't be beat. I love it here.

Loft 27 is our home, not just a rented apartment. Its clean, well maintained and friendly. Maintenance is on top of any problems in the apartments and in the building. The location is great, we can walk downtown, restaurants are fabulous. Very Convenient.
The staff is amazing , but the tenement could be better there is a lot of. Vandalism in the building so its looking rundown! Ok
Loft Two-Seven is a great place to live! It is a historic mill building located within easy walking distance to downtown restaurants, bars, and shopping. The apartments themselves are spacious and well equipped with a washer/dryer, flat top stove, granite counter tops, etc. The staff are friendly and responsive should you need anything. We've been residents for nearly two years and have only good things to say!

Loft Two Seven feels like a home. All staff (office, maintenance) are always friendly and professional. Any issues that come up (few that they are) get resolved quickly. The amenities are a nice extra, and the apartments are spacious and well designed. The location can't be beat either-right downtown and close to all major highways. Great place to live if you are looking in the Lowell area!
Walking into Loft Two Seven you get the sense that it's a good community. People are friendly, and kind. We are senior citizens and feel very safe in and around the building. We love taking our grandsons to the basket ball court, and are hoping we will learn how to use the movie theater so that we can enjoy a movie with them. The building is always clean, and maintenance is always working. We enjoy it here. Where ever you live it's what you make of it. The only difficulty is guest parking when you're a senior.
Aside from my loft being gorgeous, the people who work here make it pleasant. Rarely any issues and the few minor things have always been resolved quickly!
I started living here last summer. Every thing is fabulous, from the apartment living ending up with the office staff and maintenance workers. I recommend the place to anyone looking for a nice, modern, and high quality management apartments building.
