Scranton was the first city in the United States to adopt electric street cars, rightfully earning the nickname of the Electric City. Incorporated in 1856, Scranton touts a rich past as an industrial center, and maintains a sense of historic charm to this day with numerous museums and historical sites to explore.
But Scranton isn’t all history. A vibrant downtown offers plenty of modern delights—from exciting eateries and cafes to unique boutiques and art galleries. In addition to the urban vibe of its walkable downtown, Scranton also provides a small-town sense of community. Residents often come together for local events such as the Scranton Jazz Festival and First Friday Scranton.
Connecting with nature is easy in Scranton, with more than 70 miles of walking and biking paths on the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation at the sprawling Nay Aug Park. Scranton is also located within minutes of the Pocono Mountains.

Property Ratings at Lofts at the Mill
Solid to live for a first apartment, close to downtown Scranton, Interstate 81, Viewmont mall 10 minute drive, and quiet neighborhood. I recommend for young professionals.
I spoke with Robin she is the call representative of the apartment and oh boy she is definitely helpful. I had the hard time looking for an apartment that fits my move in date but she was able to pull it off. We just talk over the phone but all questions were answered clear and direct. She is definitely an asset to this company.
I moved to scranton due to my work commitment and I was looking for reasonable rent, furnished , and all the utilities included in the rent . That's when I found Lofts at the Mill. This is a very nice place to call "home". The entire staff always greet you with a smile and are very helpful to our needs, and are quick to attend to any problems that arise . The gym and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. Plenty of free parking and the best thing about it all utilities are included in your rent +basic cable and internet. The complex is located in a beautiful neighborhood with a closed by park and trails.
Lived here for 6-12 months. Issues I had that every potential renter should be careful and mindful about. 1. Place smells and reeks of marijuana! Lots of college kids here and theres marijuana usage everywhere. Not a good spot for those who have kids, as kids will be inhaling this. 2. Ties into the first reason as to why there is the smell of marijuana. The place has no open windows in any of its apartments. No windows that open! This is a public safety issue and quite frankly - the staff are not doing anything about this. Penn. Department of Safety should be looking into this immediately. This is a fire hazard. They're too cheap to fix this. Last I heard from current tenants this is still an issue. 3. All the smell from cooking is pouring into the halls. Go on a tour and you'll notice they try to make the place smell better with air freshners but second you move in and last a weekend with the smell - you'll know. 4. Expensive. Which is fine, but take some of that money and have windows that open will ya?! Can get a better place for the money they charge honestly.
The Mill was my home for two years, when I moved to the area. I chose a furnished studio apartment to limit the amount of costs I would incur directly after college graduation. The staff of The Mill was always helpful and kind. I would recommend renting at The Mill to anyone, for any length of time!
If you are looking for a furnished apartment, look no farther than Lofts at the Mill. Rented both a one bedroom and a studio. Comes fully furnished with bed, tables and free internet and Comcast cable. The complex is located in East Scranton within walking distance of Nay Aug Park downtown and very close to University of Scranton.. The complex has its own gym, coin laundry,(very inexpensive) as well as a common area for parties and a game room. The complex itself is well maintained with very friendly and helpful staff. Will be rent again if back in the Scranton area as it beats staying in a hotel for long engagements.
Mostly grad students and out of town professionals. Reasonably clean and quiet

I am writing in genuine support of the Mill complex for all Saudi students in the University of Scranton and Marywood University area. Some of my friends and I have been living in the Mill Apartments for almost two years. Reality, we have found the complex is so comfortable and it's really considered one of the most beautiful places to live in this area and that is because of many reasons. Firstly, it is a safe place to live in even if you leave your family behind while you attend school in the apartment becuase it has a security system and is in safe area. Therefore if you are seriously considering an apartment with a security system and be in a safe area, the Mill is the best option for you. Secondly, the complex is just 5-8 minutes far away from the both universities and that's good for all students. Thirdly, the complex has everything that you need, for instance, they provided excellent furniture. Also all Utilities, Internet, and Basic Cable are provided along with free parking. Fourthly, if you need any thing to be fixed in the apartment, they are always there. Finally, all the employees and resident are so kind, they’re always helpful with everything. They always make feel you are one of the family members. Honesty, I have never felt homesick because of these great resident and employees. All these great things I have found in this complex makes me always to recommend it to all Saudi students or any others people.

Thank you very much, Abdullah. It was a pleasure knowing you. Best of luck. Regards, The Mill
With moving across the country for a Master's Program, I was nervous seeing my apartment for the first time. I am not only overjoyed with the amenities like the lounge, gym and game room but I am in love with my loft and location. It is just a short walk to the park and only a 5 min drive to downtown. It's a great place to be when transitioning from San Diego to a smaller town.

I really like living here. It was an easy move in, all the rooms were clean and freshly painted. All I had to bring were my own personal items. Robin is very helpful in making the move in easy. I also like the fact that I only have 2 checks to write out, one for the rent and one for the upgrade of my cable. No need to worry abou paying the utilities on time.
