Historic warehouses, brick-paved streets, and sidewalk cafes adorn Downtown Grand Rapids, the dynamic heart of the city. Downtown Grand Rapids, stretched along the Grand River and extending east to Lafayette Avenue, is home to several notable locations like the Grand Rapids Art Museum, the Grand Rapids Children's Museum, and Van Andel Arena. Directly across the river sits the Grand Valley State University: Pew Campus, the Grand Rapids Public Museum, and the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum.
The pedestrian-friendly downtown district is home to a variety of shops, restaurants, theaters, museums, and entertainment venues -- so much so that once you rent your Downtown Grand Rapids apartment, you may rarely leave the area. But when you do, bus stops are available throughout the area.

Property Ratings at Lofts on Ionia
Enjoy the area. The place is clean, maintenance is great, and office staff are nice. I have only had one issue and maintenance took care of it quickly.
Excellent place to live ?? my daughter and I love living at the Lofts Downtown - thank you! We have been living at the Downtown Ionia Lofts since October 2017 . . . Great Place to Live ??
The location of my apartment is fantastic. It's convenient, with everything I need nearby—work, friends, and plenty of amenities like shops and restaurants. The area itself is vibrant, with cultural events and scenic views that enhance my daily life. However, there's a major downside: the lack of amenities within the building. It's frustrating having to go elsewhere for basic needs or leisure activities, especially when I'm used to having everything close at hand. And then there's the noise. It's relentless. Whether it's traffic, noisy neighbors, or nearby establishments, there's always something disrupting the peace and quiet. It's exhausting and makes it hard to relax or concentrate, turning what should be a sanctuary into a constant source of irritation. Overall, while I love the location for its convenience and vibrancy, the absence of amenities and the constant noise pollution definitely take away from the overall experience.
Great location. My apartment has newer appliances and modern finishes. The apartment staff is always helpful. Maintenance does a good job only had to call them twice. Both times were for building related needs. Have no issues inside my unit.
I love my spot and the cleanliness the staff keeps the lobby. Also, the treats and gifts we get during the holidays. The communication with Emilee and the other staff has been great!
The apartment community is great. There are great neighbors and everyone is friendly. Although you are able to hear all of your neighbors because the walls are so thin, it is a good community
We love it here! Great location we love being right downtown and being able to enjoy all of the things that Grand Rapids has to offer. Thank you!
Overall a very nice place to live. The lobby us always clean and the hallways on every floor are always well maintained and cleaned regularly. The resident portal makes it very easy to make payments or put in maintenance requests. Along with that is the fast and efficient help that the maintenance team provides whenever there are issues. With that being said the only thing negative i’ve experienced is listening to music on my speaker outside of quiet hours and still having complaints from neighbors/management.
Great so far, I wish there was more amenities, but with the location and accessibility to downtown/work you can’t beat it! Eating a parking spot once a month is pretty tough, but very impressed with the maintenance and how much they provide anything quickly. Some reason there is a stench in the elevator and it’s pretty brutal this just started so I think it’s because of a weekend bender.
Management is super responsive, the building itself is very nice and well kept. The walls are a little thin so it’s very easy to hear your neighbors but that’s my only complaint. The neighborhood is really fun and is safe and maintenance is always very timely and efficient.
Great place to "Call Home" Safe Fun Clean ?? My 15yr old daughter loves the downtown Life - she invites Friend's to Lofts of Ionia to experience the Downtown Vibe
I'm a new resident here at Lofts on Ionia. So far, my experience has been great. I absolutely love the layout of the apartment, management has been super helpful with the transition, and the condition upon move in was 10/10.
Excellent property management team. Always very responsive. Located in a safe area and always have things going on around you which is fun. The only complaint is how thin the walls are between units as I can literally hear my neighbors do anything from sneeze to put something in the microwave. The apartment itself is cute and the building is very well kept.
Good spot to meet people. Responsive management group. They took care of a maintenance issue right away. The unit is in good condition and feels very homely.
