Property Ratings at Longacre Apartment Resort
After years of issues with this building, things finally seem to be looking up! I moved here in 2021 based on the low prices & great location. I read previous reviews about management & maintenance, but hoped for the best. Unfortunately, the building lived up to those reviews. BUT, just as I was considering moving to another complex, they brought in new management. Of course I was skeptical based on the buildings history, but as soon as they arrived you felt a shift in the staff’s attitude. This past week they even hosted a holiday event for residents (the first I’ve seen in the building) and we got the chance to talk to the new team members and hear their goals / changes for the building. Hot chocolate and charcuterie won’t solve everything … but it sounds like they’re already taking steps to fix the things we’ve long complained about.
New management took over in spring of this year and they have turned this property around!! Our apartment was upgraded and we love the new playground, outdoor patio, and pool area! Management and maintenance are so responsive and have handled anything we have needed from them. Overall a great place to live!
Spent the entire last 5 weeks of of my lease with no Dryer. No updates or any type of information as to when the dryer would be fixed. Had to chase the front office down just to get an appliance repairman to look at the dryer. And then nothing. All of the long term residents have fled after the failed 3rd sale to a recovery company, myself included. Walls are THIN, maintenance on everything is lacking, roads are nothing but potholes that actually take out tires and took months for management to fix, apartments are sinking due to the mines underneath, front office DOES NOT answer the phones, and it’s to the point where everything is starting to fall apart. The space IS decent and the price isn’t bad, but it’s not worth it unless you’re in one of the renovated units. And even then it’s iffy because again, thin walls with crappy/combative neighbors and lackluster management. Spend the money to go somewhere else.
I have been living at Longacre Ponds since August of 2020 and absolutely love it! The property is beautiful and the staff is great! Every resident that I have met is so nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend Longacre Ponds to anyone looking to move the Fairview Heights area!
I lived there for 3 years, constantly asked for updates to the dates apartment but all they did was put band aids in major issues, the plumbing his bad, appliances are old and the rent and fees were constantly going up! The location now great but the apartments are dumps!
I lived there for 2 years, and although I was happy with the property and the management in the office, there is a hidden issue. I encourage anyone applying or if you are already living there, to ask in depth questions regarding how mine subsidence will affect your apartment. My apartment was filled with over 20 cracks, some that you could put your finger tip through. The bathtub had pulled away from the flooring, and most of my doors would not close properly. I also spoke to other residents in my building experiencing this issue. I expressed my concerns to the office and they assured me it was not a safety issue but a slow movement that is being caused by the coal mines under the property that affects many areas of southern Illinois. They offered to transfer me to another apartment that was not affected by the subsidence. I agreed temporarily until I did further research. The subsidence could continue for 5-15 years and shift throughout the area and on the property. I believe the property managers were doing their best with this unfortunate situation, however, I believe there needs to be another set of rents or compensation for those who are experiencing this movement and its effects on their apartment. Recently, there was a rent increase and I believe there needed to be a rent decrease for all the apartments in my building that were affected with cracks and issues. There are also 2 buildings on the property that have fences around them and are vacant due to this issue. I encourage you to ask a lot of questions before applying so you don't experience what I did in my apartment.
