Property Ratings at Longview Oaks Apartments
I moved in a few months ago and have had a great experience living here. The maintenance team is super quick and helpful.
It does not look like the pictures I am surprised they are legally allowed to rent these units out they look terrible

Hello - we're sorry to see your negative review. All of our apartments are professionally turned with fresh paint, thorough cleanings, and any maintenance repairs. Because our availability is so limited, we agreed to show a unit before completing the turn process. We've updated this policy moving forward.
I recently moved into Longview oaks and I absolutely love it. The apartments are a good size and have an amazing location. You are less than 10 minutes away from basically all of the best places in Harrisonburg. The property has the cutest dog park and a very nice pool. The Property Manager Kendra is very considerate and professional. I would recommend living here if you have the opportunity.
Longview Oaks is great place to live. You can tell Carl and Ray take tremendous pride in the work they do and Kendra is going to take the place to great heights stepping in for Taylor. Pet owners feel especially welcome here being able to meet other pet owners within the community and the on-site dog park. The tennis court and pool are also great inclusions to the community center for which I anticipate much use.
Long View Oaks is the most horrible place ever to live. The first thing is the Management team is horrible and they change the rules whenever they fell like it. Since I lived here, the place as gone through six managers. The current one is the worst of them all. But that's ok, she will be fired soon because they all do or they quit. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything your neighbor does. They also rent to illegal aliens. If you are listening upper management at Long View Oaks, your current manager is running people out of here. Please look at all the empty places. Bu it could be the fact that you are overcharging on rent. For future residents, look to live somewhere else. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
My unit was Not thoroughly cleaned prior to move in. Not only was the carpet not vacuumed prior to being shampooed, my carpet had bleach stains and was matted. Carl, maintenance man told me he would get it taken care of. Been 11 months and I'm still waiting. My supposed stain"less" steel appliances are all stained up. Again, when I pointed it out to Carl he said he would send Johnny right over to polish them up. Been 11 months and I'm still waiting. The kitchen cabinets are greasy, sticky, and absolutely disgusting. The outside of my kitchen window and screen had caked on grease and dead bugs stuck on it. The kitchen sink faucet was black with filth. And the dishwasher had mold, mildew, and dried up grass inside of it. Trash litters the community everywhere and almost every dumpster on site has discarded furniture that will remain there for weeks. The traffic noise is so loud that I turn a fan on to drown out the noise. The walls are thin and I can hear my neighbors coughing. There was URINE on the floor around the toilet of my bathroom; dried up soap scum on the bathtub faucet, and broken/cracked cupboards in the bathroom. I broke a lease at a previous complex I lived at and left owning money. The manager, at my old complex, not once treated me with the contempt and disrespect that Danielle and has treated me with. When I showed Danielle the pictures of my filthy apartment upon move in, she replied that any cleaning "not up to my standard was [my] responsibility". Danielle and Olivia will also pick and choose who they bully and enforce rules on. One neighbor had to pay a pet fee per pet while another neighbor did not. (BTW, the pet "deposit" is non-refundable and you have to pay pet-rent on top of that every month). Lighting is pretty much non-existent on one side of the community. It's so very dark that I have to go out with a flashlight to get around. It makes me feel very unsafe. I've spoken to other residents who have lived here long before the time of Danielle and they all say the same. 1. Every manager prior to her was equally a monster. And 2. There's a high-turn over rate of the office staff. Which leaves me wondering if Thalimer is just a terrible company to work for transcending down to their staff and reflecting on their bruised attitudes. Save yourself the heartache. If you want a nicer community with excellent staff, go to The Greens. I only left that place to get my kid into a better school district. Otherwise, I'd still live there.
Apartment building changes the agreements on a regular basis, amenities change and were delayed 7 months. Won't fix appliances blame manufacturers and say it's under warranty and their hands are tied. No sound proof between floors or walls, can here people walking back in forth true the stairs and the people top on you... washer and dryer echo through the walls and floors. Can hear the traffic all the time. Also no enough light in the parking.. Rentals prices have already increased compared to what they advertise. The machines in the gym no all working, the Internet or the TV in the club house neither work... Save yourself lots of frustration and find another apartment complex. And the new lady "Manager" in the office is so unprofessional and so rude...
