San Lorenzo sits 12 miles south of Oakland on the eastern edge of the San Francisco Bay. The neighborhood, primarily comprised of several thousand single-family homes bordered by a small commercial district, holds claim to fame for being the first planned housing community built in the nation. Residents enjoy wildlife and recreation in the marshes along the waterfront as well as easy access to larger surrounding cities like San Leandro, Hayward, and Fremont.
Access to BART metro transit and the overall buzz of the Bay Area has made San Lorenzo a burgeoning community fit with plenty of apartment rentals and attractions.

Property Ratings at Lorenzo Commons
Lived here with my fiancé & now our 6 month old daughter for the past year & a half. The previous landlord was great. But the new management that's just replaced her definitely isn't. You're provided solely 1 parking space, & there's construction on the streets for the past 3 months now which means no parking. Be prepared for that if you have more than one car & if you plan on having guest. Also, while moving out I parked beside our apartment to carry out boxes & management had my car towed in which I had to pay $400 to get out. That's how strict they are about parking. They're unresponsive when you call the office, impolite in general, don't take care of noise complaints, plus we made over 5 maintenance calls while residing here (no water when we moved in, oven stopped working, etc), they don't seem to care about the residents, & definitely the reason we're moving elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Diane, thank you for writing this duplicate review. As we said in our other response, we regret to hear you were dissatisfied with maintenance and parking when you moved in under former management. We are quite proud of our customer rating under the current manager, who is passionate about customer service. This is reflected in our overwhelmingly favorable reviews, however, if we have not met your expectations, we would appreciate the opportunity to explore a satisfactory resolution with you. Thank you for your time to contribute your feedback.
The apartments are well kept, although with the lowest quality finishes. The pools, laundry room and grounds are well maintained. All-in-all a decent enough place to live , for the money. The down side is the noise from the surrounding streets and neighborhoods, and a very few of the residents. The problem is the lack of accountability of management. You sign a stack of papers agreeing to all your responsibilities as a renter, followed by an hour or longer lecture about what behavior is expected. You sign, then realize those rules are not enforced on some people. Very loud, booming speakers from neighbors day and late night, people extending their living space by keeping their doors open and living half in and half out of their homes, etc. Management is hard to access without catching them in the office while they are there, and no means of contacting them after hours. Very unhelpful.
