Property Ratings at Lorien Ivy
Old and CRAPY apartments. My fiancee recently moved in Laguna Clara apartments. I live in another state, but recently visited them. There apartments are old, have ants, spiders and bugs for a recently moved in apartment. They are like NEVER REMODELED. Sinks are DIRTY and have RUST on it. Window shade broken. Also, they NEVER CLEANED BEFORE MOVE IN. There are spider webs, some onion skins lying, an old beer can at the back yard. I feel bad for it as when she and her room mate were searching for apartments. I visited California and helped them for search. We came at Laguna Clara and they showed a decent apartment. However, when they signed lease they put them into another apartment which is more CRAPY, OLD and HAVE BUGS. Instruments are ANCIENT. My fiancee talked to them and they showed them another apartment in the complex, which was better. They said OK we can do that, HOWEVER, leasing agent talked to the manager and she said NO. They will not let them swap apartment in 2 Days (for an AVAILABLE apartment). Rather suffer in that MISERABLE apartment. I guess they have kept some better apartments only for SHOW. Also, their leasing office experience before moving in and until lease sign is good, HOWEVER, after you sign lease they DON'T TALK NICELY.
I have never written a review before I feel obliged to warn others. I lived here since 2 years. Based on other complaints and facing a lot of issues here and other properties this seems to be the culture for equity residential. Specifically the appliances are old and worn, missing knobs, leaking, rusty, and unsafe, -the wonderful fountains have been drained and inoperative for months and are still disabled and breeding mosquito at the time of this writing. -the bathroom fans are so old and out of balance they loudly vibrate the building and drown out the tv. -there are upto mark utility charges in addition to rent totaling $130 to 150 to pay the gas and trash bill. -the water has been out at least 3 days each month. all communication from the office is automated and unsigned. -I've contacted maintenance by phone on 6 different events. I have never received a response. Not once. I have tried contacting equity management by letter, email and phone. I have never reached anyone or received a response.Here there is no meaning of emergencies contact because they never responded while left voice mail on emergency contact number and faced terrible issue. Double check recent ratings before renting here.
The insulation in the building is very bad. We are on the 2nd floor and it gets very hot. Also they do not replace the carpet between tenants and the previous people had a dog. The carpet smells bad and they did a very poor job cleaning it. When we moved in the carpet was crusty and full of powder. I am still trying to clean it with little success. This place is making my allergies act up badly. Never move into a pet friendly apartment where they do not replace carpet between tenants. Other than that there are nice trees in the complex.
My time at Laguna Clara has been amazing!! The office staff is nice, polite, professional, and eager to answer and solve any problems. Making an appointment for maintenance work is so easy whether Itis for a spider or anything else. The maintenance staff is so good at what they do. Always a great job, nice to deal with and helpful. I would recommend Laguna Clara to anyone. A wonderful place to live.
My apartment is fantastic! Our bedroom is so large it makes our queen size bed look tiny. We have a fireplace and outside our patio we have a pond with ducks and fountains. It is a very peaceful place. The neighbors and community staff are great people. Enjoy the hot tub and pool. We bbq at the pool and can have parties at the club house.
