Property Ratings at Lost Creek at Lakewood Ranch
This last year, the place became unlivable for us. We used to get service requests handled pretty quickly, but we noticed it took longer and longer for them to respond. It came to a point in July (!) when our AC broke down. It took them 3 weeks to fix it! Simultaneously, our washer was broken down for 3 weeks. They gave us 1 window unit for the whole apartment. Our rooms were like ovens, and the humidity rose in the apartment and ruined some wooden possessions, including a violin. When our water pressure and dryer broke down I August, it was nearly 2 weeks to get those fixed. And you should know, there isn’t a nearby laundromat in Lakewood Ranch. Roaches started showing up in August. We got someone to show up and tell us about how they’re in several apartments. Fine. Whatever. Still, since they’re contracted with Lost Creek, you don’t make appointments for the actually spraying. They show up when they can only on Wednesdays. It’s October now. No one has come to spray the place. When we called to ask about it, they said we already got sprayed. Then they realized we hadn’t. Doesn’t matter. Still hasn’t happened. The maintenance people are nice, but they’re understaffed or something. We called a lot asking for updates, and even emergency requests took days to get someone to come by. Location is pretty important for you? Get ready to experience living across the street from the high school. The traffic is bad in the morning (and when school lets out). The worst part, though, is that parents pull into the entrance to the apartments and flood the road, making it very difficult to even exit the apartments. The gates are a joke, with one often broken, and anyone can just tailgate into the doors, which are left open all day. The weight room constantly has broken cardio machines, the free weights are limited, the machines are mostly passable. You’ll be wanting to pay for a delivery locker service, which you share with everyone who pays for this service, but the amount of times I’ve had my boxes delivered and just sitting around the computer room is unbelievably high, and it’s because the lockers were all taken. I personally have never had any packages stolen, though.

The whole apartment is SO POORLY managed. The maintenance team is understaffed and the management does not care about the residents living here. They used to complete their work orders on time and now take FOREVER to get to you.

Hello Neighbor! Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your service request. We recently experienced challenges with staffing and supplies that have prolonged our normal responses. Please contact us today if you are still waiting on additional repairs. Sincerely - Your Lost Creek at Lakewood Ranch Team
This is a poorly managed apartment complex. The amenities & location & maintenance staff are great, however, if you want a front office who only cares about your money and sees you as a dollar sign, this place is for you. The walls are paper thin, too… so if you have a middle unit w/ upstairs neighbors, good luck finding any peace in your home. We’ve been dealing with rudest, most inconsiderate upstairs neighbors since the moment they moved in. We’ve contacted the front office dozens of times & there only advice “we’ll call and let them know they’re being loud… but just know this is an apartment complex.” We also contacted the property management company too who did absolutely nothing to help resolve the situation. I’ve seen other renters who have been dealing with the same issues too. All I can say is DO NOT rent from here!! Stay far far away!! If you can find a nice home to rent or even another apartment complex who actually cares about their renters, go with them! Trust me!!

I just want to let everyone that decides to rent from this place that you should take the time to really verify that the apartment has been cleaned before you move in and take photos after you clean and move out. My apartment looked cleaned when we did the move in walkthrough until the first time I used the bathroom sink and went to wipe the drops of water and the paper came out black. Same happened when I checked the kitchen and other bathroom counters. I decided to mop the floors before bringing furniture in because we were placing just the mattresses on the ground and it was also disgusting. I never complained just cleaned it. At move out, we spent two days cleaning and leaving every surface cleaned. It was better than when we got it but guess what, they refused to return my deposit claiming they had to pay for cleaning and painting. We lived there for two months, did not put anything on the walls and had minimal furniture. The photos submitted do not match the way I left the apartment. I might even go as far as saying they might not be from my apartment. Do not leave until you get an official final walk, take fotos of everything (close ups!). I took the fridge apart and cleaned every drawer but they still submitted a close up picture of a drawer, a closeup picture of a sink (with a nasty thing that looks like spit) not the sink I left. I am so upset and disappointed. They even charged me for damage in the wall(the pictures are unclear for that). We were there only two months, did not put any art on the walls and barely had any furniture. Renters beware.

Both the manager and the assistant manager are the rudest people I have ever met. They are both very inconsiderate, unprofessional and disrespectful. The surroundings of the apartments are always dirty as well as the amenities. I would NOT recommend living here. Please stay away.

In regards to the amenities and common areas we do work on these daily, but if you have identified an area that we have missed you can always put in a service request through the resident portal or stop by and let us know so we can address. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Your Lost Creek at Lakewood Ranch Team
We had an issue on Saturday morning with our air-conditioning not working. I submitted a maintenance service request. Within less than an hour a service tech was at our apartment, and had the issue resolved quickly and he cleaned up after himself. That's got to be the quickest service request ever. We are very pleased with this community!!

Thank you for your feedback on our maintenance service team! We strive to ensure that you are always comfortable in your apartment home. Your Springs at Lost Creek Team
The management of this place is THE ABSOLUTE WORST. Get ready to be treated like a hated nuisance or a swindler's mark - not like a valued customer or guest. Get ready to pay premium pricing on a great-looking facility where you get terrible (at best) customer service and maintenance. Get ready for super-low water pressure and no actual hot water. Get ready to have your refrigerator ice-maker never work; and for the maintenance team to 'fix' it with broken parts that also do not work. Gear up for lots of unaccompanied non-residents at the pool. Get ready for smelly dog poop on the grass everywhere outside the allowed dogie-do areas. Get ready for disproportionate/unfair/unreasonable rent increases, and for communication about possible forth-coming rent price increases made clear only at the very last, worst, super-hamstringing time. If you can afford it, honestly- do everything you can to rent elsewhere.

Hello, I am sorry to hear that you are not happy. I would love to have the opportunity to speak with you regarding your concerns so I know where we missed the mark. Please feel free to reach out to me by phone or email. Thank you.
I went to another apartment Parkcrest Landings instead of coming here for fifth Season. In error their Sarasota apts said I could not qualify.I double-checked and I could.I had to leave Parkcrest as they could not fix AC problems of Goodman unit freezing up.Even Unique Air could not but they are probably told hands off apt ac units.I paid $2500 to buy out of Parkcrest lease.IAs soon as I turned on always great Gibson ac unit it froze up.They replaced with same Goodman unit.It too froze up.But Lost Creek has contract with AC TODAY co.Tech said needed more refrigerant.works ok now. Also Lost Creek has 30 day satisfaction guarantee or leave Scot free. That is rare.Means they care. Also have flexible lease terms.Other owners made me do 7 months when I wanted six.Property beautiful too
We've lived here for two years now and watched the management switch over. Absolutely horrible change. The new staff is extremely unwelcoming, they are not helpful and any time you go in with an issue they suggest that you handle it yourself. They simply can't be bothered with existing residents, they only care about getting in new ones. The community amenities are taken over by people who do not live here. We leave near the pool and because of the removal of our security patrol, people were at the pool, yelling until 11 PM. They then went to their cars and drove away. Clearly they do not live here.We have had issues in the past with noise as the walls are extremely thin. However we always had someone we could call to take care of it, if needed. I was told that if I have a noise complaint to call the police. The A/C unit froze up all the time last year. We had a staff that was familiar with the problems and knew how to quickly fix it. I'm terrified to see what will happen this summer. The gates are always broken. And they say they will be fixed, we will see how long that last. Even when the gates are fixed the gate on the sidewalk has a bar missing in it so that a child or small adult can squeeze through and open the door. Issues existed before the new management but now, in just the few weeks since they've taken over, I can already see how quickly downhill this complex is going. Looks like we will be moving at the end of our lease. This no longer feels like home.
Moved here a month ago New owners just took over property. It's awful. No maintenance of grounds has been done. Dirty pool towels have been at the pool for a week. Forget gated community. Gates don't work, so non residents are here taking over amenities. The amenities are why we came. Coffee bar( never is stocked), towel service or pool and gym has stopped, gated community is untrue. Grass is unmowed. Now the office is closed on Sunday! How can issues be resolved when there's no one here. Currently at least 20 non residents are in the gym being less than respectful and disregard for paying tenants. I know there are far better places for similar prices. Place going down hill quickly Office staff less than helpful
Maintenance Staff works diligently but they don't receive help from the office. On the other hand, Office Staff is disgusting. They don't want to help, answer questions, take care of issues. Not even a hello. Apartments are runned down after a couple of years of use. Amenities too. Just go check the BBQ's status.

I hesitate to write a review as this is my fourth Season here and do not want to find I cannot get a space.lol.This property is very well built and has the best ac you will ever find in a Florida apartment. One year I actually went to the other apt next door which had lousy air conditioning. It taught me a lesson. They were newer but not build as well. The staff is excellent especially Katherine.I find the landscaping is especially nice. The whole layout is very beautiful.Walking paths, car wash, volley ball courts, gym, computer room, pool room.etc etc.I like the small lakes with water fountains. The builder did not cut corners here.p.s.They promised me a space every Season will be available for me.I sure hope so...

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts of our community with us. It is great to hear that you are having such a positive experience here! We strive to provide our residents with a great living experience and the best service possible, and we are always thrilled to hear we have succeeded in both. Please never hesitate to stop by the office if you have any issues or concerns (or just want to talk.) Thanks again for the review and for being a wonderful member of our community!
My family and I lived in Lost Creek while we were building our home in the area. The amenities, although nice from a distance, need some work upon closer inspection. The gym was nice, but the treadmills were constantly breaking down. The indoor basketball court gets taken over by non-residents sneaking in from the high school constantly. The pool is large and a resort style, but is not heated for the cooler months, and needs more attention when it comes to cleaning. I had to personally pull a dead mouse from the pool once, scooped hundreds of dead ants out on another occasion, which really attracted the birds, which caused a whole other mess. During the summer months, while they tell you they offer towel service, bring you own, because they will be out. In the 11 months that we lived there, one, two or all three of the security gates were not working and left completely open approximately half of the time. Also, since our unit was near the preserve end of the property, many times people just walked around the fence adjacent to the preserve and directly onto the property. As for the actual apartment. We had a ground floor apartment and you would have through our neighbors above us would at any minute come crashing through the ceiling, and we had three very small women above us! While we did have plenty of space for the family and enjoyed the layout of the unit, we did have plenty of issues. The microwave broke, the garbage disposal quite multiple times, and the A/C froze up and needed repairs. While everything did get fixed, at no charge to us, it was still a major inconvenience. We also had one instance of a maintenance man walking directly into the apartment unannounced without knocking while my wife and youngest daughter were home. We confirmed with at least two other residents we were not the only residents that this happened to. Since Lost Creek tailors to LECOMM, be prepared for the end of the semester late nights. Doesn't matter what day the semester ends on, be prepared for loud music, lots of beer can litter, and people coming in and out at all hours. With the thin walls, you hear everything. Makes life rough when your Elementary School students need a good night sleep. Last, but not least, is the management. You are definitely treated like a rent check to them. There is no compassion or working with them regardless of the situation. Everything is black and white to them and everything always favors them.

We do appreciate your input and will continue striving to provide the best living environment possible. We wish you the best in your new home.
The apartment complex reminds me of a lush tropical resort. Some of things I love about this place is the 24 hour gym, the resort styled pool area with cabana's, the basketball court, the pool tables, and the business center. My classmates and I have used the business center many times to complete class projects and it has been a wonderful experience. People are very friendly here. The office staff is hospitable and helpful and will go out of their way to help you. The maintenance workers have always been on time to fix minor issues I've had. My 2 bed 2 bath apartment has a ton of room and storage. The closet space in the master bed room is phenomenal. The only complaint I have about my apartment is that being on the 3rd floor, even though I've fallen in love with the view, there are no elevators. During the day,the surrounding area is lively with people biking or running by and high school football and baseball games. I don't get a chance to exercise during the day due to working full time and going to school so night time works best for me. I've exercised and have gone running late at night and didn't have anxiety about doing so. I felt safe. Also cops normally drive through the area at night just because. There are many shopping centers in the area and highway 75 is less than 7 minutes away.
With the average rent of a 3 bedroom apartment cresting $1800/month that includes absolutely nothing, this apartment is pricey. Everything is extra.
Lost Creek Resort Apartments is in a great location. Minutes from the interstate. Conveniently located between downtown Sarasota and Bradenton in Lakewood Ranch. The amenities here are wonderful, The pool and hot tub area have cabanas with electricity, wi fi and even cable television. Next to the pool area is a common area with an outdoor tiki bar, charcoal grills, ping pong table, a great gym that is now open 24 hours, a room with pool tables and video games and an indoor basketball court. The staff at Lost Creek are very quick to address any issues that do arise. The community is dog friendly. A large number of residents have dogs and the dog park was recently re-done with new sod and dog training obstacles. The residents here are friendly. There is a good mix of age groups including a good number of medical and dental students from Lecom. There are many families with small children that love the pool area. Teenage residents simply walk across the street to Lakewood Ranch High school which is rated one of the best schools in Florida. We have lived here for 2 years after downsizing. It is nice to have quiet place, no maintenance (they even change light bulbs), conveniently located with a gym pool area.
We relocated to FL from Missouri. Not really knowing the area, this gated community made me comfortable. I have a family of 6. So we rented the three bedroom three bathroom . It is very efficient in its setup and we have been very comfortable. It's space is accentuated by all of the resort style amenities on the property. With a big comfortable clubhouse that includes games, a full gym with free weights and Dumbbells as well as the usual cardio equipment and medicine balls and some other machines. They have free wifi in all the public areas as well. Gotta have that connection!! It also has a beautiful indoor basketball court with real wood flooring. My kiddos love it. The pool is amazing. It has zero entry for my 1 and 2 year olds, a hot tub and hammocks for the wife and I, and lots of swimming and playing area for our older boys. This resort is quiet and serene. It's loaded with beauty everywhere. My oldest son plays football for the East Manatee Bulldogs. They are the local Pop Warner team. Their practice facility is directly across the street. Since we spend 5 days a week at practice this is a huge plus. I like the detached garages with openers. These are a handy place to keep all the extra stuff like bikes and tools. There is power in the garage so you could do some projects in there as well. The free coffee in the club house and free cookies(including gluten free) in the office are a nice little touch. If I were apartment shopping right now, I would still rent here. The value is great for the area.
The living environment is wonderful! The only challenge I face with Lost Creek is the landscaping. The property can definitely look better and the residents deserve better. The management team is a pleasure to deal with but the rent rate markups each year are very challenging to budget for. Overall the experience at Lost a Creek has been wonderful but lock in a two year lease if possible.
The office staff is very helpful and friendly. The apartment was clean and in good condition when I moved in. Very pet friendly place!
