Property Ratings at Louis York Apartments
I lived at the Louis York off of Ivanhoe St.in St. Johns for a year & a half during my nursing program at the University of Portland. My main goal in renting a studio apartment was to have a quiet place to come home to for relaxing, studying or whatever I wanted at the end of the day. Although the Louis York is located directly off of a road that does have heavy traffic, especially semi-trucks due to the nearby industrial area, my apartment didn't hear the noise. I chose an apartment that was on the side of the building closest to the parking lot in hopes of further separating me from any noise or bright lights at night. I do use a sound machine when I sleep though, so that may have made a difference. Overall, this apartment complex was everything I needed for that year & a half time span. The property managers were always helpful and attentive, eager to take care of anything needed. The studio size was just right for myself and the kitchen was actually rather large! :) as far as pricing goes, this was a much better price (in this area of Portland) than other apartment complexes I looked into. I didn't need to use much heat in the winter but I did purchase a window air conditioner for the summer which worked wonders! Tenants of the building were cordial and I felt safe, as a single young woman. The only true downside that I felt was the surrounding neighborhood not feeling very safe in general. However, Cathedral Park is just a 6 minute walk away and the best park in Portland if you ask me! BEAUTIFUL. I would recommend this apartment complex to friends of mine. Agnes, one of the property managers, was a delight to work with and I was grateful for her families kindness while I lived there!
Nice but not a lot of insulation, very cold in the winter ( even with the heat on) can feel the breeze come threw the windows, very hot in the summer, even with a fan.
