Settled in 1665, Wilmington played a crucial role in the early colonies. The Middlesex Canal, a 27-mile canal connecting the port of Boston and the Merrimack River, passed through Wilmington. As one of the young nation's first engineering projects, the Middlesex Canal's aqueducts and other remnants are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Today, Wilmington is a wooded suburban community with some beautiful features, such as Silver Lake and Cranberry Bog. The Town Museum is a fascinating destination, housed in the Col. Joshua Harnden Tavern, built in 1770 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Harnden, the man who built the house, achieved the rank of colonel during the American Revolution.
In addition to being a beautiful town with a rich history, Wilmington is ideally located for commuters, roughly 15 miles northwest of Boston. Commuters can take I-93 or, for a car-free commute, hop on the MBTA Lowell Line and arrive downtown in about 20 minutes.

Property Ratings at Lume
Here is a better list of things that have been a nightmare since we moved in... - No AC for months - Double charge or wrong amounts posted for rent - Extremely bad communication, can't get ahold of management - Guests can't park because residents park in visitor spots - Nobody knows who manages the property (at least 2 different people in only 4 months) - Loud train directly behind you - No warning when they are doing construction above you - Can't use common areas for work when it's loud because nobody, even management, knows the wifi password - Got so hot in the summer months that the fire alarms would go off, fire dept came and suggested we replace the carbon monoxide detector... management never came or completed the request - Low quality interiors (ex. floors already lifting, uneven/warped walls) - No move in instructions, we were stuck outside for a while before being able to finally contact someone to get into the building to collect our keys The worst part of all is that it's like pulling teeth to get ahold of anyone. I have to nag, bother, multiple emails, multiple calls for weeks to get any sort of response... never mind a solution.
Lume looks very nice from the outside. Unfortunately, cheap construction and close proximity to the commuter rail line makes for a rather unpleasant living experience. The walls are paper thin, so you will hear everything from next door, and even across the hall. I can hear the elevator noises from within the bathroom while the shower is turned on. There is no central office, so problems are addressed by calling the property manager. Problems outside the normal Monday thru Friday 9 to 5 business hours unfortunately have gone unanswered completely by management. I pay per month for a reserved outdoor parking spot that is usually taken by a visitor. Management has yet to provide a solution to the issue after repeated emails and calls. Unfortunately, this leaves me paying for a "reserved" parking spot which can't be used. Amenities are lackluster for the price you pay, with a small gym, lounge area, and coffee machine which is never stocked. Snow removal in the winter was painfully absent at times, with spots left unplowed for days and weeks after a snowstorm. Unfortunately, I can't recommend that a new renter consider living at Lume.
