Koreatown is a vibrant LA neighborhood fille with hidden gems, bars, eateries, and a collision of cultures. As the name suggests, the atmosphere in Koreatown is heavily influenced by Korean culture. The neighborhood is a favorite destination among foodies city-wide for its endless selection of authentic Korean restaurants, but the community has a much more diverse character than that: the broad range of cultural influences is exemplified in landmarks like the synagogue and contemporary art gallery of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, the Latin fusion cuisine of Roy Choi’s restaurants, and the popular German/Korean/Hawaiian tinged gastropub, Biergarten.
Although the area is a hot spot for LA residents’ day trips, Koreatown is known as one of the best places to live in LA. Most locals rent their homes and enjoy parks, coffee shops, and stores within walking distance of their apartments.

Property Ratings at Luna On Wilshire
Worst management ever. You can never get things fixed, packages get stolen, credit card gets stolen, and management come into your unit without permission and leave the balcony door open for a "fire drill" without telling me. Bad customer service and disrespectful of tenants. I would recommend moving to a different place for your mental well-being.
This is the worst apartment I rented ever. Cheaply made it. No hospitality , No customer service.
Please DO NOT rent here. Please save your money and quality of your life. Please look for another place. You will literally share everything with your neighbors. You can hear what they watch/listen to/talking about and the intimate sound at night. This building is built in a very thin wall. Also, you can hear every single footsteps from the upper floor, not only footsteps, you can hear if they drag something. The manager will NOT HELP YOU AT ALL. This place is the worst place I ever rented in my life. I wasted money the whole year. I would rather pay more and live a better quality/peaceful life. I highly NOT recommend this place.
Poor sound privacy, I can hear what neighbors are saying, feel like living with roommates. Poorly built. Not worth the price.
This is one of the worst places I’ve lived in. I was excited to move into a new building in Koreatown. From the very beginning, it’s been nothing but trouble. Moving in was a pain. Trying to get in communication with the leasing office was always difficult. After move in, there was rarely anyone in the manager’s office. The walls of the building are really thin. You can hear people walking outside and above you. Everything is cheaply made. Worst part of it was at move out. Trying to find a place for the moving truck to park was difficult and management wasn’t accommodating. We had to ask the restaurant next to the building to let us park in their loading zone. Finally get out of there when they send the move out bill with a bunch of bogus charges. There’s a “balance forward” charge when I had paid my rent in full prior to move out. They charged $150 cleaning fee after we’d cleaned the place spotless. Almost $300 in painting fees for what should have been wear and tear in the apartment. Lastly, they had a poorly installed bathroom mirror that had water accumulation behind it, that they’re trying to force us to pay for to replace. They did everything they could to keep the security deposit. Over all most expensive place I’ve lived and hands down the worst place I’ve dealt with. Save your money and live somewhere else. I’d stay away from any apartments managed by this company as well. Terrible communication, terrible amenities, terribly built, too expensive, and will cheat you out of your entire security deposit.
Pros: Management has been responsive to my complaints relatively quickly. It LOOKS nice. Promotional rate was pleasant but still not worth the cons. No other pros here, honestly. Cons: Cheaply built, and not ready to be moved in. Hence, the promotional rate. High noise level. Normal noise gets amplified due to structure. Washer/dryer combo unit vibrates and moves when in use, because it sits on uneven wooden board. The W/D does not remove lint so you have it all over your clothes and takes 3-4 hrs to complete a single load. The walls are very thin and hollow. I can hear my neighbors talking, coughing, sneezing, tv/music through the wall. You can hear the hollowness if you knock on the walls. Privacy is non-existent. The trim along the bottom of the wall is brittle. A picture frame fell off the wall onto the trim revealing the fragile material. There was trash visible from the courtyard that remained for a few months before it was removed. The metal gate leading from the courtyard to the lobby and garage would clank loudly throughout the courtyard whenever someone used it. A simple fix was ignored for almost half a year. I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually a tenant that did end up fixing it. Visitors were parking in assigned parking and management gave out warnings for 6 months until they finally started to take action. H2O temp in the shower is inconsistent. As of now I have to turn the handle almost all the way high to get hot water. There are other issues. All these are factual statements and in no way are they exaggerated. I suspect many people leaving when leases are up. I'm already here on Apartments.com looking for my next move and my lease doesn't end for 5 more months.....but I honestly have been looking and thinking about it months ago. I just feel bad for the next tenants who will also be trapped with the lease without realizing the flaws. To management: Too many complaints, and not much you can do. Some you can and you have, but it just took way too long for appropriate actions to be taken. For example, here something you can do about the trash chutes. If someone keeps clogging the trash chute or leave boxes and trash outside of the chutes, use the camera and find & fine the problematic tenants. Don't make the recyclable chute into a trash chute and make all the tenants take the recyclables to P2 and dispose of them there. So impractical and hassle for your tenants, and, above all, not a good move.
I moved here in August 2018 and immediately discovered that my A/C did not work. Management responded promptly to my complaint and were able to send someone to fix it. They did need to fix a couple times over a period of 3 weeks but eventually they discovered the problem and was able to resolve it. Additionally, as it became colder, I found out that my heat wasn't working. They also were able to fix this promptly. My reason for giving 4 stars is because, despite the other reviews on here, the apartment is a great place to live. The apartment complex is very clean (except for the occasional tenants leaving dog poo in the garden). Management has been very responsive to me (Shane has been extremely helpful and polite). I have not had problems with the fitness center, parking garage, or rooftop. The internet has been extremely fast and has only gone out once. The surrounding neighborhood is also great, ton of things to do. My only complaint is that the rent is very expensive compared to other luxury apartments in Koreatown. Although, I would like to continue living here, I will probably move out after my promotional lease ends. I don't see justification for the rent being so high.
This is a very new building so any positive reviews are fake and done by the management. The building has so many issues and all the current tenants hate it. It's understaffed and everything breaks due to poor quality.
I just moved in a month ago and have been very pleased with my choice to live here as opposed to other apartments in Koreatown. Luna's location is excellent as it is walking distance to most trendy restaurants and bars in Koreatown. Furthermore, this apartment complex has great amenities like a decent gym with enough equipment to never have to wait very long for other residents to finish. I also had a great time hosting a BBQ with friends this past Sunday while watching football streamed from the apartment's free WiFi. Lastly, I want to commend the folks in the front office: Shayne, Jena, and others who have been communicative and helpful with my needs as a resident. I assume some of the negative reviews left below may cause concern, but my experience has been quite the opposite. I am a real resident (5th floor) and I've had a great experience with the front-office, so I wanted to leave some positive and honest feedback.

Thank you for your review. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. We value you as a resident here and would like to continue to meet your expectations.
DO NOT RENT HERE period! It is very unfortunate but is the truth. The apartments yes are nice if you get one that is completed 100% and does not have any unfinished stuff. This is a new complex and everything expressed here before is true. This place is bad. It is dirty everywhere. Don’t get me wrong. There’s two part time maintenance senior people and they try their best but management does not really care. You try to let anyone here know about the issues and you get retaliation back. The Manager is very disrespectful towards you. The P2 or parking always smells like trash. I cought a cockroach walking on outside my car windshield this morning. You walk around and you just want to throw up. The gym is always dirty and that’s an unsanitary situation. I invite the sanitation Department to give a visit to this place and for sure they will close it. Everything is unsanitary here except your apartment which is the only nice thing if you get a good one. The roof top please forget it. The bbqs have food from I don’t know when and the floor is disgusting. Please take my advice as others did. Look around there’s better a bit more expensive but for sure you will get a sanitary clean safe place where manager and management really do care and does not brush you away when you bring normal concerns. Beware!!! Is my best advice. I didn’t believe the comments and I decided to join due to the promotion of the two months but it has been just a week and this is a nightmare already. Don’t do it. Yo are on your own once you sign those papers. Cheers and good luck
This apartment complex has been a refreshing experience when searching in the Los Angeles koreatown area. The building has a modern feel and plenty of elevators so there is never an issue of getting up and down. The roof has a space with three separate BBQ and Lounge areas so there’s always room to hangout and enjoy the view of the Hollywood sign. Downstairs is a sleek lobby and gym equipped with pretty much anything needed for a solid workout. Shane in the front office has been more than helpful explaining the simple ways you can put a maintenance request in and has even given me a number to text if needed for any type of help etc. Jena moved me in and the process was as simple as can be. I enjoy living here a lot and hopefully my review shines light on the reality of what it is like to live here because I have had a 5 star experience since I moved here.

Thank you for your kind words. If there's anything else we can do for you to continue to meet your expectations, please let us know.
I just moved into this apt complex and I am very disappointed. It is so dirty! The parking smells like trash, there were boxes thrown in the parking today! Trash was all over in the trash area, smelled horrible, the doors were not even closed. The halls are dirty, they don't seem to be maintaining it and it's very sad that we are paying so much for a brand new building and having to deal with this. Also, management and leasing agents don't seem to care. Some can be rude, specially a blonde girl who I have interacted with and she had a very bad attitude. They need to act more professional and learn how to treat people with respect. We are paying to live in a clean environment and also have our concerns addressed. Please look somewhere else until management does something about it.

Thank you for your comment. We are so sorry to hear about your experience. Regarding your comment about the trash room in the parking lot, we have hired new and more cleaning staff to help and we also have signs to remind tenants to break down their boxes so they can be neatly disposed of. We apologize if you had a negative experience with any of our staff members. Please feel free to submit a comment through Appfolio. Upper management sees the Appfolio comments and will be able to take appropriate action. You are important to us and we would like the chance to make it right. We hope your most recent experience has been better with the building and staff.
BEWARE! This is a warning to you all that this place may look nice on the outside, but internally there are just SO MANY ISSUES. The 2 months free rent might be a good deal, but I can see why they would need to offer that. Where do I start.. Their management team is non-existent. Good luck trying to get anything done or have any of your questions answered by their team. Once you’ve signed the papers you’re on your own. My neighbors and I have to crowdsource answers amongst ourselves because their team just does not respond or give proper answers. Incomplete construction. Yes, you read that right. It's as if they decided to complete 95% of the job in my unit and then lease it out without ever finishing. After multiple promises of them resolving the issues in my unit, 1.5 months later still nothing is being been done about it. Free internet promotion? It may take you a month to get any information on how to set this up because that's how long it took me. I literally had to ask 4 times for this. Online rent payment was promised at the time of move-in. Nearing my August rent payment however, I sent multiple emails over the span of several days asking how to do this. After management initially told me they would send me the info, they didn’t (what a surprise). I sent multiple follow up emails because I didn’t want to pay any late fees, but they completely stopped answering. Yes, they ghosted me right at the deadline of when our rent payment was due. Does that make sense to anyone? I am trying to give them my money but they won’t tell me how to do so. Other known problems from myself and other tenants after speaking with them: Blinds, washing machine, elevator, trash chute, AC, mailbox, etc. This is a brand new complex, so there shouldn’t be this many problems. All in all I really want to like this place, I do. But their incompetent management team is giving me every reason not to. It’s also very evident they rushed out this apartment complex prior to everything being ready as evidenced by all of the problems tenants are having. Until Luna can get their act together, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.
