Property Ratings at Luxe Scottsdale
LUXE is a great place to live. Great management, timely and expert maintenance and much more. I highly recommend it!
When you see the name “Luxe”, do NOT think Luxury… We have lived here for about 18 months, and there are issues we submitted feedback to management about that still have not been fixed. The most crucial is the fact that 3/5 exterior doors do not close and lock with ease. That means at any given time, some dangerous or disturbing person can enter the Luxe Scottsdale Apartments. We feel unsafe, unheard, and taken advantage of living at Luxe.
Would not recommend. Too expensive for the quality.
Staff members are attentive, effective and friendly.
Everyone’s been great! Once I heard they’d be new management I was a little nervous however they’ve outdone themselves in such short time, all the girls are so sweet and glad to help anytime and maintenance is quick and efficient!!
I have been a resident here since 2017 and have had a pleasurable experience with the apartment itself, the staff, and the amenities. Maintenance is always on top of things, amenities are all brand new as of this year, and the staff is extremely attentive to your needs. I couldn't be happier!

Thank you for the review and for being an outstanding long-term resident! - Luxe Scottsdale Management
Do not live here unless you want unexpected move out fees that are not laid out in your lease, or any other agreement presented to you. They say you have a refundable deposit, but they don’t tell you every resident automatically gets $50 of that taken away for “carpet cleaning”, even with carpets Are in perfect condition with no pets. They also let you know that they do hire cleaning professionals after you move out, but for every nail hole in the wall you’re charged $5/each, “undusted” ceiling fans $30/each, patio with dust/dirt $20, dirty oven $60, the list goes on. Unless you’re okay not getting your refundable deposit back, (considering there’s zero grace for normal wear and tear) of your unit, I don’t recommend living with Harbor Management Properties. When trying to plan my move out, I attempted multiple times to connect with the property manager to connect on what their expectations are to avoid fees. My husband finally got in contact with him, where even he agreed these fees are crazy, but told us they will proceed with charging us. Needless to say, we will not let them do a walk through without us in attendance. We have no idea what their idea of clean is, and they don’t either. Please be aware on how this company treats their tenants.

Dog howling day and night. Multiple complaints and no help. Great location and amenities as long as you don't care about getting any sleep.

Parking situation is a nightmare. I now have to park my car on a random street and walk 10 minutes to my apartment that I pay a good amount of money for. My car also got broken into while parked on the street. The apartment complex has limited parking for residents let alone guests. They have sent out an email telling us residents to limit the amount of guests we have. Management does nothing about it they just tell us to Uber and deal with the parking. Just overall not a good experience. If you think the parking situation won’t be an issue, I am here to assure you that it is the most annoying thing to deal with so please go find an apartment where you actually have a parking spot. Apartments are beautiful though, so it’s a shame that they can’t get the parking situation right!

Hi, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. If you are willing to give us another chance, please reach out to us at (602) 892-5105 to speak to our manager directly.
I've lived in Luxe for 2 years, and just signed my lease recently for a 3rd. One of our concerns upon moving in was the parking, and when we shared this concern they assured us through the guest spots and the streets directly across the street from us, we could find parking no problem. It wasn't too bad the first 2 years, not super ideal but we knew what we were getting into. Now, the streets are fed up with us parking there and turning to the City of Scottsdale to put in place permit parking. 2 streets have done this, and I anticipate more to follow. I now have to walk 6 minutes, usually in the dark, to my gated apartment community, and the more streets they shut down the longer this will take. Upon sharing concerns with management, they like to defer blame and act helpless as if we don't pay a decent price to live here, and women like me chose to because it feels safe to have gates and fobs to get into the buildings. At the minimum, they've never apologized for this situation or have been sympathetic they don't even act like they care in the slightest. They can't take any accountability for anything, and it's really disappointing. They literally ask us to limit our guests so our residents can park in the GUEST spots, and to "get creative" by using means of transportation that cost money, when most of us are already paying car payments, car insurance, etc. It's not even worth emailing or trying to talk to them anymore because you get no where so I just want to warn anyone looking to live here: please don't. I'm posting this purely for new residents and letting you know to PLEASE go somewhere that has a management company who cares about their residents and don't defer blame. Unfortunately this is my cross to bear since I re signed, but it doesn't have to be yours. Beautiful apartments though!

***PROS***: 1. Great Location: Located in downtown Scottsdale, about 5 minutes from Old Town. You're a cheap Uber/Lyft from all things fun. 2. Modern Apartment: The apartments are beautiful. They're extremely modern and very well-kept. You are getting what you are paying for. 3. Safe: You have to enter in a gate to get in the complex and use a fob to get in the building. 4. Common Areas: The pool is heated and the hot tub and fireplace are great. Tons of grills and places to relax outside. The indoor clubhouse is really nice too. The gym is great too. There is a big grass area in the front and great walking path for dogs, including a pet washing station near the trash. 5. Valet Trash Service: Need I say more? Life is so much easier when I can just put my trash outside my door. ***CONS *** 1. Noisy: If you are in the A building or any apartment facing the street, it's really loud. Indian School is a super popular road so it doesn't matter what time of day or night it is, there's always cars driving. It makes it hard to ever have your window/balcony open. 2. Parking: The parking here is really bad. You get one assigned spot per apartment. Fortunately I live in a one bedroom, but my neighbors who have a 3 bedroom are always at odds. There is guest parking but its limited. By 4 PM there is usually ~2 guest spots open. Every time you have a guest they are going to have to park across the street and walk over. There are garages for purchase but those are taken most of the time because pretty much everyone needs more parking. 3. Limited Entries: There are limited entries into the building and all but one on the first floor. Bringing groceries is such a hassle. We do have elevators but each of the entries are on the corners, so you'll still have to walk with all of your stuff. It seems like not a big deal but making multiple trips is super exhausting. It can also be annoying having to go all the way to one of the limited entries just to get outside or to let a friend in the building. Going back and forth to the entry door since they don't have a fob gets really annoying. 4. Common Utility Bill: Residents pay for the electricity/water of the common areas. That means heating the pool, cooling the office, when people leave the lights on; all of that is billed and then divided and paid for by the residents equally. 5. Thin Walls: We have Bluetooth speakers in a lot of apartments, but the walls are so thin you can't use them very loud without getting a complaint.

The apartments are nice and the location is pretty good, but the management of the property is fairly poor. During the week I moved in the breaker would trip anytime I turned on the living room fan. I needed to open three service tickets before the switch was replaced. The hot water wasn't working when I moved in, they needed to replace a sensor on the hot water heater. The drain in the tub was also clogged from the previous tenant. I needed to open about five maintenance tickets before someone came out to fix the drain. They are also big on charging late fees for rent, and you wont be given the total rent amount until the day its due unless you call and ask for it, which is a hassle. The online payment system wont post the total amount until the day it's due, and I've been receiving the mailed invoices after rent is due. They also have a policy in place against refunding late fees, even if you haven't received the mailed statement yet. It's a nice place, but not worth the hassle. There are several other places in the area that are managed much better.

Hello, Thank you for the feedback. We apologize that some of your work orders may not have been completed in a timely manner. Rest assured, we have taken your feedback very seriously and we have taken steps to ensure maintenance issues like these will not occur again. All billing statements are handled by Conservice, our Resident Utility Billing company. They mail the rent statements to all residents each month, and they also provide the rent statements in advance for you on their website at www.conservice.com. Alternately, we are always happy to give you your rental total in advance if you prefer to contact our office. If you would like to discuss this further, please stop by our office, email me at luxescottsdalemgr@greystar.com or call me at 602-892-5105. - Dan, Property Manager
Unfortunately I am only two months into my lease and I am extremely dissatisfied with so far. The people that live here are awful and the walls are paper thin. You would think a place that would pride themselves on offering "luxury" apartments would at least make sure the place is cleaned up a bit but I guess not. Garbage scattered throughout the complex by our terrific valet trash company that we for some reason have to pay an addition $33 per month for. Someone left a big thirst cup and a splattered milk shake outside of the enterance of my building for TWO DAYS now and nobody has bothered picking it up. This property is not well maintained and I am seriously considering paying the $3k to break my lease and cut my losses.

I searched the Old Town Scottsdale Area High and Low for just the right place to live and hands down this is it! Look No Further!! The apartments are exquisite, the amenities are fabulous, the Staff are friendly and go above and beyond to meet the needs of the residents.

My girlfriend and I have lived at Luxe for a year now, and have just renewed our lease for another year. We are very excited to call Luxe Scottsdale our home for another year. We couldn't be happier with the facility and the staff. Dan, the GM of the property, has always taken incredible care of any issue that we've had and does a wonderful job of running the property. We absolutely would recommend this property to anyone who is looking. The location in perfect and the facility itself is beautiful!

Parking is nonexistent. On any given week I have to park in the surrounding neighborhoods on multiple nights and walk 5-10 minutes to get to my own home. If you're sitting there thinking, well maybe it won't happen to me and look how pretty the pictures are and the location is great... take a deep breath and think about walking five minutes because you can't park at your own place, and you can NEVER have friends over because there is nowhere for them to park. Trust me when I say it's not worth it, click the "back button" in the top left of your internet browser, and look anywhere else.
Property Manager at Luxe Scottsdale, Responded To This Review
Hello, Thank you for your feedback. Parking is limited at our community and our team has been working diligently to improve the issue as much as possible. To help remedy the parking situation, we have gone to assigned parking to guarantee that every apartment has one assigned covered space. We have also recently added five additional opened parking spaces to the community. Finally, we asked our residents to vote on whether they want to eliminate visitor parking so there would be additional parking for residents. The results of the poll indicated that the vast majority of our residents want to keep visitor parking available as an option. If you have roommates and you would like two guaranteed parking spaces, we have rentable tandem garages. Please reach out to me directly at 602-892-5150 or luxescottsdalemgr@greystar.com so I can discuss your concerns. - Dan, Community Manager
Luxe is the worst complex I have ever lived in. I have never dealt with a management team that is so unresponsive and so unhelpful to issues. Yes, they may respond to the bad reviews on this website, but they don't respond to their own residents when they have an issue. I have been here for only a little while and have had to deal with more problems here than how much it is truly worth. Don't like the pretty exterior fool you. Everything else is terrible. From the parking situation, the trash left everywhere, unresponsive management, unorganized management, and the electricity cutting short all the time...go somewhere else. Fast. I can't wait to move out of here.
While the apartments look nice, the workmanship is awful. We had door handles that fell off every time we opened the door. The name "Luxe Scottsdale" is incredibly ironic. Rent was about $100 more than I was told. You are required to pay for community gas, community pest control, Valet Trash, electricity for the community center, leasing office, gym and pool. Fine, but at least disclose this in the tour. The dishwasher runs, but doesn't clean and leaves disgusting water spots and you'll need to hand wash everything. There is something seriously wrong with the way the electrical is run. Half of the time when I turned my fan on in my room at night, the entire electricity would blow. Well, I was out of luck most of the time since the breaker was in my roommates room. Other residents have complained about plumbing issues. I haven't experienced that so I can't speak to it, but thought it was worth mentioning. There's simply not enough parking for all residents here. If you park along a curb, you'll be ticketed. Management's solution was to no longer allow visitors. You can pay $35 a month for one of the many reserved spots that sit empty while people park along fire lanes because there is nowhere else to park. The leasing office lacks customer service. Ownership transferred in December. We didn't receive logins for the new portal to pay our rent until the weekend of New Years. Like many others, I was on vacation. Therefore, I was trying to enter my routing number and checking account number on my mobile device. Days after I noticed nothing had been pulled from my bank account so I investigated and realized I mistyped a number. My fault. However, the staff kept saying it was fine and it pulled the payment and wouldn't listen as I told them they were wrong and should expect the ACH payment to be invalid. I had to fight with them to recharge me so I could make the payment correctly. They also sent me a passive aggressive email asking my roommate and I to stop throwing cigarette buds over the balcony. We don't smoke... Additionally, the complex is dirty. The elevator door in my building is kicked in and makes an awful noise when it opens and closes. There are footprints all over the elevator walls and buttons, which is disgusting.Needless to say I couldn't wait to for my lease to end. I just felt that I needed to leave a truthful review for anyone considering living here before they sign a lease to pay nearly 2K a month under false pretenses.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you have been unhappy with your residency here. Since the change in the management team we have made drastic improvements to the community. It appears that most of your concerns seem to be prior to the change over. As far as your dishwasher and electricity, we are more than happy to send our maintenance technician to resolve the problem for you. Please feel free to contact our office to schedule a time that we can come take a look. We conduct regular walk troughs of the buildings to increase the cleanliness. Please let us know if there is any thing more that we can do to make your stay here more enjoyable. We are always more than happy to help. Kind Regards, The Luxe Scottsdale Team
My sister lived there and had a very good experience. The office responded whenever there was any issue. The management is just amazing. They are very professional and really work with residents in a personal and compassionate manner. We would definitely recommend this place!!

Would not recommend this apartment complex. I moved here about a year ago. Living here when it was Alta Scottsdale was a positive experience, but unfortunately new management is unaccommodating and slow to address problems. Parking has been a well known issue for many months and they are just now creating permits for residents' cars. I pay to live in a gated community and the only advice they could offer me was to park along granite reef... Which there isn't any. And this was only after my car had been towed. Overall very dissatisfied with how Luxe Scottsdale handles resident issues and front desk service.

I am sorry to hear you are unhappy here at Luxe Scottsdale. Please know we do value your opinion. We definitely understand parking has become a problem and please feel confident we have been diligently working to resolve the issue. We have come to realize that those in Scottsdale are parking their vehicles here and taking Uber to town. We do not know who's car belongs here and who's car does not hence why we have chosen parking permits to differentiate the two. Once we received approval from the appropriate levels for passes we began gathering resident information so we could enforce the parking. The parking passes are in the office and we are doing everything we can to get those distributed. We have 218 units and over 60 residents have yet to pick up their pass. We do not want to tow residents vehicle therefore we are doing everything to get all residents information to get the passes implemented. Next week we will begin to tag cars in hopes it will encourage all to come in so we can get this parking resolved. Please know you do not have to park on Granite Reef Road that is just an option in the meantime. Again, we are sorry for the hassle and we completely understand the frustration just know we are and have been doing everything we can to fix the situation.
They don't even have enough parking for their paying residents. Then they tow those resident's vehicles when they park next to the curbs.

We fully understand parking has been an issue and we definitely apologize for that. We have been working diligently to correct this situation. We are located close to down town and non residents are leaving their cars here and taking Uber to Old Town which takes away from our residents parking spots. As you are aware we have implemented parking permits and we are confident this should eliminate the parking issue as we have plenty of parking for residents. This does take time since we have 218 units of residents who need to come in to the office to pick up their passes. We do not want our residents cars towed so we have to be sure everyone gets their pass before we can enforce the rule. Our tow company does tow cars that are parked around curbs as this is dangerous for people waking in the parking lot or trying to drive through. They also tow cars that are in fire lanes as that is illegal and very dangerous. Please be sure not to park in either of those zones. It is important to us that you enjoy your home here at Luxe Scottsdale so if there is anything we can to do make it better for you please feel free to come see us in the office. Thank you, Luxe Management
Security is terrible Noisy at night Pool is supposed to be closed at 10pm but Yet people still get in and keep my dogs barking And I can't sleep!! I've told management and called security More than a dozen times!! Their security comes out only to tell them to keep the noise down! Lol not funny!! Blue Steel doesn't even know the pool is closed at 10pm! Management should contact them to let them know not me!! No pool signs on gates stating pool closed at 10 So again another night where I can't sleep! Getting old!!

We are very sorry to hear the pool is loud and keeping you and your dogs up at night. Please come see us in the office and we can look into moving you to an apartment that is not located near the pool area. Our courtesy patrol team is aware of the pool hours so we will contact them today to be sure they are enforcing the rules. In the lease that each resident signs states the pool rules and hours. We also post on our community website about the pool policies and hours. There is a fine that can be implemented if any policies are violated. If you happen to know who is at the pool please notify us so we can get legal notices to the appropriate parties. Thank you, Luxe Scottsdale Management
Very diverse community, wonderful amenities and the two bedroom apartment is great. It feels spacious and sunny. There is a floating island so the kitchen isn't cut off from the living room. Being new, the property has some great specials!
