Property Ratings at 11730 Sunset Blvd
Great location, excellent apartments. Walls are thick and the building is quiet.
DO NOT waste time applying here. This management company is absolutely horrible. They have been stung by people during covid and taking it out on any prospective newcomer by making them just thru hoops. They will run your credit and do backround checks, ask for your tax records, other records showing you paid taxes, your bank account records so they know every dollar you have, make or owe. Even if you dont owe a thing besides student loans, they will then ask for a co signer and that co signer will have to go thru the same hoops of showing their taxes, bank records etc. The manager is sweet but the management company will waste your time thus making you lose out on other opportunities. Theres a REASON why the price is good and its still available. Dont buy into the hype. Good apartment, great manager, horrible management company. I lost another great place because this process took so long. Dont make the same mistake
Excellent location and units have been newly remodeled. New appliances as well. Also has amenities like a gym and pool (although they are small) which come in handy.
The manager will not respond to you unless you call the emergency line... here are just a few examples of why she was contacted... 1. Frequently the parking garage is broken into you can expect your windows to get busted and she will have no responsibility nor will she let you know this prior to moving. In addition, it typically happens late at night. She will change your garage code. If you are required to be at work before she desires to wake up and respond to a text then you can expect to be locked in the garage and late for work. This was not a one-time thing but instead a handful of occurrences in less than a year. 2. When you live anywhere it is common knowledge for your landlord to notify all residents of changes in their parking garage codes, major construction, water outages, etc. She for whatever reason does not believe this is part of her job description. Once the entire front door was shattered. We as residents use our phones to get in the front door...Once again she failed to notify anyone. So if we talked across the street to Starbucks as many of us did you were locked out. I myself was locked out for nearly 2 hours and through the same day had to let in at least 7 other residents who were locked out due to her lack of communication. 3. During covid when everyone was working from home using zoom she failed to notify anyone that she was going to test the fire alarms for 4 hours. I was in the middle of a live recording having no idea the alarms would be endlessly sounding. 4. Maintenance left the hose running in the pool. It started flooding the third floor (my floor) I ran upstairs and turned the hose off for her. She walked to the pool deck and attempted to accuse me of turning the hose on and flooding my floor. 5. She takes zero responsibility for any of her errors and there are more than I feel like mentioning. It is no exaggeration to say something like these occurrences happened several times each month for more than a year. RHB should consider new management if they cared anything about their residents at 11730 Sunset.
I’ve lived in a few places in Brentwood over the years, and this one was by far my favorite. Solid building/location for the price. Units are renovated, building is clean, management is accommodating. Just be careful about selecting the specific unit location within the building - the units facing sunset or the shops are obviously going to be louder. Mine was facing the courtyard and I can only describe it as serene.
I live here for first 8 month here is my experience. 1-They change the code for parking and didn't share with me. 2- Fireplace didn't work 3- Pool man running at 6 am on roof 4- No water in thanksgiving night 5-Old appliance refrigerator start make noise 6- There is no respond after 6pm if you have problem Stay away form this property
The actual building seems nice but I was mislead by the building manager as to the apartment we’ve been speaking about and she sent me a virtual video of because of covid. After waiting for the tenant to move out and it to get cleaned, about two weeks of us going back and forth, she casually forgot to mention that the unit and it’s balcony faces right into the back of an industrial building and industrial AC/Heat unit, whatever it is. The minute you walk into the apartment it is incredibly loud!! And a gross apartment with all of that air blowing right into it from the windows and balcony! Would be nice to know so you don’t waste people’s time. People wouldn’t even be able to open their windows living there. It’s like living next to an industrial factory or something. “Most tenants just keep their windows closed all the time”. What a casual omission. And a gross experience. And the other reviewer is right, she does ask a lot of personal questions.
We have lived at the Robert’s Company 11730 W. Sunset Blvd. apartment in Brentwood for over ten years, and we love this building and the neighborhood! The best part of our experience was living with on-sight Apartment Managers, Beatrice, and Shedrick. They ensured the building was beautiful and immaculate; they were also extremely efficient on the rare occasion we had a maintenance issue. Beatrice and Shedrick made our life here easy, stress-free, and all-around great! We are moving out of state to be closer to aging parents, but before we go, we wanted to leave this review, so that prospective tenants know this is a fantastic property. You will be able to walk to everything you need – the post office, a pharmacy, and a handful of restaurants. Thank you for all of your hard work, Beatrice and Shedrick! And thank you to the Robert’s Company and to the owner of this building. We have loved living here and will miss it very much! Sincerely, Tom & Rebecca
I just called the number listed on apartments.com and spoke to the building manager. I asked if they had any apartments available and the first thing she asked me was why I am moving. I told her I thought this was a personal question. She then said "we screen all applicants here" and hang up on me. I tried calling 4 more times right after and she never picked up. I am sorry I don't want to tell you I am moving because i am getting divorced. This is none of your business! I understand you have to screen all applicants and I agree with that. I can give you all information you need EXCEPT personal questions unless I feel comfortable in a conversation with you. And then you simply don't pick up the phone anymore? What are you? 5 years old. Not professional at all!!! By the way I have been contacting many apartment managers while I am looking for an apartment and NONE of them asked why I am moving. When I am moving, how many bedrooms i am looking for, what is my price point, etc yes! But no personal questions because guess what? This is none of their business!! Well, I am glad I didn't lose my time going there to see the apartment because if the manager can't have a professional 2 minutes phone conversation I can't imagine the hell it is to live there under their management.
The Roberts Company has a negative review by someone who in spite of complaints lived there for EIGHT years??? Very inconsistent....I mean since it's an apartment why stay?
Try and find out how the managers treat the tenants . For example I've been here 8 years and this is the third set of mangers , my bldg is owned by a company and its impossible to reach owner to complain about management , who does nothing to help with any problems. There's 90 units and I wish I had looked up reviews before hand. Any kind of research before you move helps .
