Appleton is a charming, green city located about 30 miles southwest of Green Bay. It straddles the Fox River at the north end of Lake Winnebago. In addition to a rolling, lush landscape with mature trees and river views, Appleton is a college town -- home to Lawrence University, a private liberal arts college founded in 1847. You'll find plenty of student traffic on College Avenue, which houses Lawrence University. However, more students live nearer to the University of Wisconsin in Menasha, to the south of Appleton city limits. While looking for apartments in Appleton, be aware that this large city spans three counties: Winnebago County, Outgamie County, and Calumet County.
You might be surprised to learn that Magician Harry Houdini lived in Appleton for a while as a youth.

Property Ratings at Lynndale Apartments
Having need for housing i contacted Lynndale concerning units available. They helped me succeed in everyway. Fair from start to finish! Charges were from date of possession to date of surrender of my apartment. Wonderfully welcoming ( the owner asked if he could assist me when i sat for a moment waiting for next opportunity to speak with office personnel), outstanding concern about my needs, about explaining everything & anything, about being clear & concise. Every time i entered office or called via phone i had an uplifting interaction. Everything advertised is how it is! Superb from first hello to my last goodbye. I experienced several personal upsets before i moved in. I had more in the beginning weeks which prompted my request to vacate my apartment mid-month. Everyone's concern for me, my family, my necessary needs for timing was outstanding & compassionate. Not surprising in anyway, my security deposit was remitted promptly. Earlier than any other experience when check was sent on last day of contract. Anyone desiring a straight-up, straight-forward place to live should call promptly.. Good people like these folks are hard to find.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a heart-felt review. It was our pleasure to provide you with a great living experience here and are sorry that your stay was not longer. We enjoyed helping you settle in to your new "home" and wish you the best. If you are ever in need of short term month to month housing in the future we sincerely hope you will make it the Lynndale Community!
I have been living in a furnished unit for the past 3 years. The management staff is awesome. Anytime i needed some maintenance in my apartment they sent someone to fix it fairly quickly. Once i wasn't able to my pickup package before they closed the office. I called them and they offered to leave my package at my door. Apartments are pretty quiet and decent as well.

Thank you for sharing what has made your experience pleasant! We so appreciate hearing when we do things well, and what puts a smile on our resident's faces! Thank you again!
My experience with Lynndale Apartments was great. The landlord ladies were amazing from the beginning of the process through the end. They went above and beyond to make sure that all my ducks were in a row when I had to move... and if I'm ever back in WI, I hope to move back to these apartments. Never any issues with noise. It was great to have the pool, small gym, and laundry facilities right next door. I would definitely recommend to anyone living in the Fox Valley.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! We would love to have you call Lynndale home again in the future!
We very much enjoyed our stay in a furnished 2-bedroom unit at Lynndale Apartments. Our stay was short for almost two and a half months but was very comfortable and convenient. The apartment was very well maintained and clean including the furniture. However, what we enjoyed the most about our stay is the management staff specially the manager and assistant manager. Both are very friendly, courteous, helpful, and very responsive to our requests.

Thank you for taking time to share about your experience staying with us! We are so glad that you were happy with your temporary home and that you enjoyed our staff. Everyone here LOVES being a part of the process of providing people with the next "home", from office personnel, to maintenance and cleaning staff! Working with people like you make our jobs all the more pleasurable! Best wished to you and we hope you will call us when/if you need housing in the Appleton area in the future!
Don't believe the reviews posted , staff is self posting! The truth is that this place is a horrible place to live in, do not trust the administration with y anything they are really terrible with your information! Look someplace else! A few years ago this place was administered by human beings who had a heart, the new administration is just horrendous accusing you of doing this wrong and threatening to evict you in one or two days if you don't comply with their nonsense. Please stay away!
Property Manager at Lynndale Apartments, Responded To This Review
Firstly, self posting is not possible by management due to safe guards put into place on the Apartments.com portal to maintain the integrity of the reviews. To do so would be unethical on our part, and is not something we would consider doing. Choosing a place to live is an important decision and we believe prospects have a right to hear the good and the bad of other renter's experience with any company they are considering renting from-including our property. At times we may fall short of someone's exceptions, but our goal is to work in co-operation with those individuals to arrive at a peaceful resolve. That is not always possible, but is always our goal. The other issues mentioned in your review were addressed with you at great length while you were a resident of our apartment community, but we will give you the courtesy of replying to your on line review to once again cover with you the events you are referring to. Your mail (the information you refer to in your review) was delivered to our office address. It was opened by us with other mail that was addressed to our address and as a courtesy, we notified you of the senders error. Please address the miss-addressing issue of your mail with the party who sent the mail. Regarding eviction action: We follow Wisconsin Landlord law as it relates to all lease violations, and evicting someone with one or two days notice is not allowable by law. Lease violations regarding dog waste and patio appearance (the reason for our company having to inform you of a possible eviction)are addressed with friendly reminders first, a secondly, with a 5 day notice, which can lead to an eviction. At times, when residents do not cooperate with our property rules, (such as dog waste removal) we must be firm for the good of the neighbors and the reputation of management to follow through with upholding the terms of residency of our property. We wish you well.
I've worked near Appleton on two different occasions. Both times, I've been very satisfied with my fully furnished apartment. The managers working in the office are very friendly and fun! Thank you for making my stay comfortable and easy.

We're so happy you came back Lynndale for your short stay with us! It's always our pleasure when we get the chance to provide returning guests a place to call home, even if only for a short while! We truly appreciate your effort to share your good experience with others and spread the word about our furnished apartments!
We're nearing the end of our one-year lease here at Lynndale Apartments and both my fiancé and I can say it's the best management/landlord experience we've ever had. Very quick to fix something if anything is broken or going around. Very polite and friendly and easy to work with. And our personal experience neighbors can be quite noisy at times but I suppose that's apartments everywhere. It was really great having the heated indoor pool especially since we have a child. Also, the workout center was all right, good for anyone who isn't accustomed to equipment available . At the gym, haha. Good experience over all :). I'd recommend it.

We so appreciate you sharing your experience at our apartment community! I'm happy to hear you had a good experience and would recommend us our apartments. Just sorry to hear that you had ongoing noise complaints. While there is a certain level of noise you may hear from apartment to apartment, we strictly enforce the "quiet enjoyment" clause in our property rules and are sorry that you had problems with noise that went beyond "normal". Best wishes and if you ever find yourself back in Appleton, please give us a call!
I enjoyed my stay at Lynndale Apartments very much. My unit was efficiently laid out and in good repair. The common areas and fitness center were always well maintained and clean. What I enjoyed most about my stay, however, was the staff. Everyone on the staff with whom I had contact was friendly, courteous, and helpful. I had few concerns or needs for repairs during my stay of little over a year, but each one was handled quickly and efficiently. The office personnel, maintenance crew, computer support person, and clean up staff were all friendly and extremely helpful. My fellow residents were generally quiet [except perhaps during a close Packers game :)] and quite pleasant. I actually got to know a few of them. It was a pleasure to have lived in the apartment, and I suggest that anyone seeking an apartment at least look at Lynndale Apartments. John Lovison

Dear John-Thank you for your kind words! We truly enjoyed having you stay with us and getting to know you. People like you are the reason why we love our jobs so much! We are so happy that we could provide a place to call home as you transitioned from your home to your condominium. Your new neighborhood is a better place with you in it! Best Wishes, Colleen, Rachele & Linda and the entire Maintenance Staff at Lynndale
My wife and I lived in a 3rd floor unfurnished, 2 bed, 1 bath unit for almost 3 years (2013-2016). The unit was very spacious and relatively quiet. The landlords at Lynndale were excellent, answering questions quickly and making sure our work orders were placed as fast as possible. Our fridge broke down one weekend and we had a brand new model in the very next day. The buildings are clean and feel safe. The appliances could be updated but worked great. If you will be living on the 2nd/3rd floor, keep in mind the hallways are a little narrow. We brought our large Lazy Boy couch up to the 3rd floor with quite a bit of effort. The washer and dryer in our building broke down 8 times while we lived there and they were never replaced. Aside from these issues, we recommend these apartments. We didn't find anything in Appleton at this good of a value.
I called Lynndale Apartments and explained my situation. I was transferring from a city 2 hours away and I would be starting a new business in the area. My credit history is good but with a new business, I wanted to be honest and upfront with my financial situation. Most importantly, I didn't want to waste my time, their time, and most importantly a hard pull on my credit report if they weren't interested in renting to me. They told me to go ahead with the application. I did...and I waited...and waited...a week later I called to see the result: I was approved but I had to provide additional documents, which I was happy to do. When I asked if they had time to show me the apartments they said no they were already full. I should have called earlier in the week. I should have called??? I was waiting on their response! To which they told me. Sorry for the delay..."Its been a crazy week" Here is the timeline: June 3rd - Application Fee Cleared my Account June 7th - Credit Apps pulled for both me and my wife June 10th - Still hadn't heard from them so I called I don't care or want to know if it has been a crazy week. When I give someone my social security number and all of my personal info, I expect them to be a little more responsible. I called today to see if there has been any progress. Even though I am fairly upset with this company right now, I'm stuck because I really don't want to have my credit pulled again, since they pulled both mine and my wife's. To which they told me to send my taxes...which I did...then they called back and informed me that the apartment has been rented??? Either of 2 options has just taken place: Either they lied about renting the apartment or they didn't realize it was already rented. Either way, I suggest everyone stay far away from this place until they develop more responsibility or don't be honest with them in the first place. It's too bad really, because I think my wife and I would have really liked the apartment and facilities this place offers. But there are plenty of places where the management is a little more considerate and responsible. Oh, by the way, they charged me $40 to lower our FICO scores about 8 points. Thanks a lot Lynndale Apartments. I was honest with you, you should have been honest with me!

We sincerely thank you for taking time to share your experience with us and regret that your application process did not go as smoothly as most do. We address each applicant's unique situation on a case by case basis which, in your case, did require additional information due to your new business venture. Our administrator who was out of the office for several days at the time you applied and it was our awaiting her decision about what paperwork would be necessary in addition to running your credit scores, that caused the unfortunately delay. While we did have an open apartment at the time we ran your credit, during the process of awaiting a decision on what we would require to complete the approval of your application, other individuals who had approved applications paid their security deposit to secure the available apartment. While we couldn't fit you into our appointment schedule for Saturday we did encourage you to drop off the needed documents to provide you with an answer for your application. The staff awaited your arrival until the office closed and checked the drop box in the event she was on a showing when you arrived, but the paperwork did not arrive. Please feel free to stop in to our office to obtain a copy of your credit report which you could use to apply elsewhere if you are still looking for an apartment. This will save you any further "hard hits" to your credit. Due to the extremely high demand for apartments this summer, unfortunately, we have had several other applicants who were also not able to provide needed paperwork in time to secure one of our July apartments as well, and it is always hard to not be able to provide everyone with the housing they desire. We sincerely regret we disappointed you in the process of placing your confidence in us.
Nice furnished apartment, pleasent and helpful staff. Close to local college. Rent is a bit steep. Truck depot behind complex is quite noisy at night.
Good price for the amount of space and very very great landlords! Just needs some updated appliances, carpeting, etc.
Spacious and quiet throughout the night. We are never disturbed by anyone esle in the building or complex. Manager is very nice and forgiving. Normal wear and tear is expected in the apt, and therefore they don't charge you to clean in.
Property Manager at Lynndale Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your kinds words. We always appreciate hearing when we get it right! Just want to clarify this reviewers comment about our cleaning policy. Normal wear and tear is always considered when we assess the refund of a security deposit. We will professionally clean your carpets after you move out at no charge when there is normal wear and tear. I suspect you kept your living space clean and when you moved out our cleaning staff only had to "touch up" your efforts, thus you were not charged for cleaning. Residents not quite so conscientious about cleaning after they have removed their belongings may see cleaning charges, as removing personal items is not the same as physically cleaning things like sinks, floors, stoves, refrigerators, etc.
i have lived at Lynndale apartments for a total of two and a half years now. I would have to say the apartment is livable, and appealing to the eyes. There are some issues with the quality, for example the cupboards are not sturdy and have broken or come loose on multiple occasions, same goes for the closet doors. The complex does offer a separate building with an indoor pool and gym. The pool is nice and can be enjoyed by families or friends. More equipment could be added to the gym, there are basic machines but most are only for upper body targeting. I do not enjoy the apartment but would appreciate if management shower a little more concern for the residents. There have been issues with things breaking and even after calling in a work order, they don't fix the issue for weeks. Also the coin op washer and dryer in the building seem to struggle operating correctly and often break down. Overall these are nice apartments for someone looking for affordable living but also have to be willing to live with the " you get what you pay for" I will probably be looking to reside somewhere else within the next year.

We are truly sorry that your experience hasn't been 5 star. A recent survey of our residents rated our Staff and Maintenance response time as the top reasons why our residents would choose Lynndale again. It saddens us when our efforts fail to please, as we do pride ourselves in finding any way possible to say "yes" when residents express their concerns. Anyone in customer service knows however, sometimes there will be that one person whom you seem to fail continually for a variety of reasons, despite efforts to work together. Please come into the office and maybe we can talk about a "do over" in the ways that we have failed you. For anything that is in our control, we want to make it right.
my friend lives in these apartments, they are nice!
