Property Ratings at MAA 510
Just moved in this weekend and Nhu and Crystal were absolutely amazing, kind, and welcoming. Nhu was very patient with me helping me go over everything I needed to know about my home. I love how cozy my apartment feels.

Hello there, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback. If you ever need anything else from us, please feel free to give us a call or stop by. Have an awesome day!
Please read - When choosing an MAA managed property seriously question their maintenance handling procedure. I am a current resident with MAA and am appalled by the way they have handled habitual flooding in my unit. My home has flooded a total of 8 times as well as incurred numerous other maintenance issues as a result. The most recent of which has happened from 12.19.2019 to present. Sadly major flooding occurred during the holiday period which included Christmas eve, day and New Years' eve, day. There has been a severe lack of staff accountability and a lack of communication between each other. Which has resulted, at times no one coming out to fix an active flood. Over the holiday period, I had to stay with friends as my unit was not fit for habitation. I requested compensation from MAA to which the manager replied, "that's why you have Renters Insurance, file a claim" and then to be moved into a different unit as there is a habitual problem. To which MAA replied 'you can, however, you would need to pay Transfer Fees, sign a new lease with new terms, conditions and rent at a higher rate than I am currently paying.' After the 7th time the flooding occurred, enough was enough and I requested that the lease be terminated to which the response was 'you can but would need to give 60 days notice and pay a fee of 2.5x my monthly rent.' Naturally, as this was the holidays I had little money free to do so, and in my opinion, not an adequate method in which to provide help after the 7th incident. I had reached out to the VP and area manager in an attempt to resolve the issue to which I received no direct communication from them. It seems that ultimately what MAA cares about it its bottom line and less about their clients or the conditions they live in. I am myself in the real estate industry and shocked by the way they have handled this. Apartment locators beware, do not refer to your clients to MAA unless you do not want to receive complaints and renters please use extreme caution should you choose to live at a property managed by this company. They are in no way on your side.

I love living at Post 510. The staff is very friendly and polite. The amenities and appliances in the apartments are great as well. The only downside is the amount of homeless people living around the apartment, as it doesn't make me feel quite safe at times. Other than that, it's a wonderful place to live.
Post 510 has been my home for almost 3 years. The staff has been hugely helpful and friendly, the maintenance is top notch, and my apartment feels luxurious and warm with super tall ceilings and nice fixtures. My thanks to the staff!
Aside from the homeless and the noise they create, it is a wonderful place to live. I have been enjoying my stay here. It is also very convenient for my job and other activities.
I like the apartments themselves, and the surrounding area is decent. The rent is a bit higher than i'd prefer, but i feel safe and content in my unit.

I have been living at the property for about 6 months. Overall, it has been a good experience. The hallways could be cleaner.
The property is very clean and in a very good location in Houston. I like the way the garage and the pool are made. The managers are great and always respectful, polite caring and helping. I had a problem with a light and the stove and the problems were solved very quickly. Also, we had a gathering with dinner 6-7 pm on Wednesday this past week which I liked. If I want to have a suggestion it would be to do something about the sound. Inside the apartment I can hear the cars moving outside in the avenue and also my neighbors.
Living experience is good. But would like a few more pieces of gum equipment. I feel like there are 3 pieces that would really make the gym here great?Bosu ball, plyometric boxes, and a decline bench. Seriously, that would be such a bonus for the gym.
Quiet apartments. Convenient location and nice internet parking. Could use higher clearance to get U-Haul trucks in. Could also use larger service elevators. Quick response on repairs and well insulated walls.
It?s been a great experience. Staff is always friendly, the grounds are always well kept, common areas are always clean and maintenance issues are always dealt with promptly! The location is great too!
It?s nice. The staff is really nice and polite. The apartment itself is pretty nice. The outside area can use more cleaning up (lots of dog poop) and the elevators are often dirty and needs more cleaning. The inside of the apartment is clean, the pool is very nice as well.

Pros: Good location. Newish Construction. Gym is fine. Head of maintenance is a great guy. Cons: 1. Security! My wife's bag had goods removed from it by a guy who said he was a new resident (he had keys). Management said their cameras "malfunctioned" so they can't identify him, and cop said cameras are not really there for residents but for the property (really!). On this incident, dealing with management felt like we were dealing with customer service of a low cost airline who would rather have you disappear, and not the place where we live. For BAU though, they are fine. 2. We have lived here ~6 months only, but every 2-3 weeks or so the main elevator is down, and once was seriously vandalized. 3. Lots of homeless folks roam the area. (but there is a cop) 4. Parking is a great pain - if you get home after 6 PM from office, you need to park on the 6th or 7th floor everyday! With all the vandalism incident and with the guest parking filled up with resident cars, your guests need to park on top as well rather than on street. 5. Floor and walls are very thin. If you want to live here, go for the 5th floor but see #2 regarding elevator above.

Thank you for your detailed review. We value our residents safety and comfort above all else, so your feedback is very alarming. If they haven't been resolved to your satisfaction, please call us at 866-620-1130. We will work hard to deliver better service and change your opinion about us.
The apartments are great and the building is new. My least two favorite things about Post 510 is the guest parking and security. There's a limited number of guest parking spots so it means that your guest won't have a place to park after a certain time. There have been so many break-ins, even with a "secured" gate. One incident windows were busted, then another with a 2015 Escalade was put on cinderblocks, and another when mine and 10 other cars were broken into.
Property Manager at MAA 510, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to review our community. We are sorry that you had your car broken into. We do have controlled access garages in place at our community, however we cannot prevent theft in any situation. We highly recommend that our residents do not leave valuables in their vehicles. If valuables are not visible in vehicles this will deter thieves from breaking in. Please contact us directly to discuss your situation. We appreciate your residency.
The best part of this apartment complex is the location. You are a 6-8 dollar uber ride from downtown, midtown, washignton and rice village. The appliances are great but I don't cook. Washer and drier are in your apartment but at $2200 a month I expect that. Tall ceilings are great and the ac systems works really well. If you are going to be living in the second room that you will have to live with a few quirks. The primary bedroom has its own private amazingly huge restroom with walk in closet. However, the secondary restroom is open to the common room and connected to your room. If you leave the door open while you are in the bedroom and the ac turns on you can hear the motor running. Also, the fuse box is located in your bedroom and it is an eyesore. It is so close to the edge of the wall by the door that you cannot really hang anything over it without pointed out the obvious. The paint they use is of low quality, if you eat on the island and your feet rub against the side the paint comes off. The floors are super thin. You can hear everything that happens above you. They say it is due to the fact that you do not have carpet in the main room. However, I can hear everything in my bedroom as well and I have carpet there. The walls to the hallway are paper thin too, you can hear peoples conversations as they walk by or run. The walls between the rooms however are surprisingly sound proof. Do not believe what they say about the pool and lounge area. They say they are open early and until midnight. That is false, they are open at 8am and close at 10pm. They even tried to force a rule where you could only have 2 people per apartment, not resident, at the pool via wristbands. However, they are not open sundays... Parking is ridiculous. Its as if they only planned to have as many spots for the exact amount of residents. The guest parking is horrible, due to the parking situation some residents park in the guest spots which are few to begin with. Management has only put up signs that residents should not park in guest spots but this prevails. This place is not worth the money.
Just signed my second year at this place. Overall, I love the location- walking distance to restaurants, close to super markets, great reverse commute for work. There have been some minor things that have gone wrong with the place, but management is very quick to have them fixed. The majority of the complex is younger professionals, but there are a few families. Generally speaking this place is great!
