Nashville’s West End is a sprawling district filled with a mix of suburban and urban neighborhoods. The family-friendly atmosphere on this part of town is largely made up of safe residential streets and a tight-knit community. Within the West End, there are two universities: Lipscomb University and Belmont University. The college town feel is apparent in the West End, and there are great public and private schools to brag about as well.
West End’s residential streets are a mix of stately homes, longstanding homes, and upscale apartment communities. The Mall at Green Hills is the best opportunity for locals to enjoy a wide variety of retailers, and nearby, check out the Bluebird Café, an iconic live music venue. Historic mansions, museums, sites, and landmarks sit throughout West End, such as the Belmont Mansion near the university.

Property Ratings at MAA Acklen
I lived in this apartment for years and saw 10+ people go through the front office staff. The maintenance here is great, but other than that, the rest of the staff is horrible and incompetent. Save yourself the thousands of dollars you would waste here and do no live here!!! They incentivize people with good reviews so be very careful when looking. I would absolutely choose somewhere else if you are searching for a new home in the area. The amenities are not well kept, the parking garage always has break ins, the property manager is hardly ever here so the issues cannot be addressed.

Thank you for your review and sharing your feedback.
Spacious and clean apartment, great location, fun and up to date amenities. Wonderful management, a pleasure to work with. Love the security and smart apartment technology. Looking forward to summer time at the pool.

Hi there, thank you so much for your positive comments about MAA Acklen! If you have any further questions, please give us a call. We're always happy to help!
I would never in a million years recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to live. The manager is RARELY at the property and the rest of the front office is horrible at their job and very lazy. These apartments are way overpriced for what you are getting. The old manager (Lauren) was AMAZING! She spent so much time making this apt great and then the new manager has ruined it all over again

Thank you for taking the time to share such encouraging feedback with us today! It is wonderful to know you are enjoying our top-notch service, pool, amenities, and clean atmosphere. Thanks for being a loyal resident, and please let us know if we can enhance your experience in any way!
Moved into a filthy apartment with rotten food in the refrigerator and an unflushed toilet with pee on the seat. Spent 2 hours cleaning the place before I even moved in. You can hear everyone in the adjacent apartments from the paper thin walls. On top of it all, they have the worst customer service ever. Just hope you never have an issue because 3 months in, I still don't have an answer to when I am getting money they owe me.
I just moved in recently, but everything has been wonderful so far. The gym is awesome, as well as the rooftop space. So fun to go and relax out there and look out over Nashville. Great location--close to campus! The facility is clean and well-maintained. Acklen has resident events which have been great! The walls are a little thin. Overall, it's been a great experience!
Britney and company had gone so far past my expectations. Britney waited on my tour as I was running behind from a previous tour. She stayed after hours to make sure I got to put eyes on the potential unit. She did this on a Saturday!!!! Her free time to help me out! Acklen has great facilities and location. All that said there was a slight hiccup paperwork which was addressed immediately. Acklen went far past helping me out getting a unit last second, they saved me! The entire team went FAR out of there way to ensure my stay would be the best!
The property is kept up well. There are numerous amenities. The resident activities they sponsor are free and fun.
Great floor plans and location, I enjoy having community events. Some negatives, maintence is slow, the property could be taken better care of (trash left in halls, exterior windows have never been washed). Expensive but not much more than comparable apartments.
I hate to say it, but I found out my rent in my specific apartment is overpriced compared to units that have more square footage than mine. Seriously something has to give with the price for my rent. I must say I love it where management has done a great job at dealing with neighbors who have caused a ruckus. However, the amenities that Acklen provides are amazing. I actively look around for other places because I want to know I'm given a fair price. However, for other places around I love Acklen. I feel as though security has tightened up, which is great because it prevents people from having outlandish parties on the rooftop that is envious of all residents' of Nashville. However, I personally think that 10 pm is too early for the rooftop to close. Maybe we can change the time to 11 pm.
I love the property and the amenities. However, if I could, I would change the frequent fire alarms and the foundation issues that are present around the property. Otherwise, I would highly recommend the facility.
Generally speaking, Acklen is a great place to live. Maintenance is always super quick in following up on requests. However, the noise levels can get a little out of control and it seems to take a small act of God to adequately address tenants who are excessively loud. Additionally, the garage gates are constantly broken and left open. The safety element is therefore often lacking.
Comfortable and pleasant experience. Love having such a great gym here

Very good. Friendly team on site and service requests answered promptly.
excellent--the amenities and location are great.
Convenient location, great amenities (many of which go unused - so they're always available), easy parking, flexible lease schedule, pet-friendly (although this does bring with it the some of the downfalls: why do people not pick up after their dogs?), very quick response for maintenance issues. Front office staff leaves something to be desired, but you can manage mostly without them due to the user-friendly online platform. Definitely recommend!
Acklen is a great place to live. Close to interstate and resturants. Staff is the best!!!!
Good but expensive
Generally, Good. Primary minor nuisances seem to be constant malfunction of the entry/exit gates to the garage, malfunction of the coffee machine (or no cups available) and weak wi-fi in the fitness room.

I've been living here with my fiance for almost a year now. At first, we considered the maintenance issues and subpar management to be part of new construction, but these issues have not gotten any better. Like the other reviewers, I agree there are several other places that are more affordable with the essential amenities and better management. The front office staff constantly changes and no one communicates well to the residents. The fire alarms have gone off for several hours at a time in the middle of the night and are so loud you have no choice by to leave. This has happened on multiple occasions all due to system malfunctioning and the staff could care less that we all lose sleep before work. The security gates are always up and doors are propped open, defeating the illusion of security. Most of the amenities are broken or trashed as residents have tons of loud friends over without any respect of the area. Management constantly sends out emails without any notice that maintenance will be entering the apartment (so anyone with pets should be cautious). Water pressure is really really bad, and valet trash is a waste considering there are trash shoots. UPS constantly refuses to deliver packages here. I'm not sure if it's the size of the building or the office being close, but it is extremely frustrating. The apartments overall are nicely designed, but poorly constructed. There are more affordable places to live with the great amenities and much better management service.
Be careful. Management is very friendly when you are a potential resident, but once you sign the lease they could care less about you. There was a special going on for $1000 visa gift card when I signed my lease and I still haven't received it after a month. They keep saying they will follow up, but never do. It's a great apartment, but for the price you pay, you deserve to have management that is competent and that cares for their residents. Just keep this in mind when you are looking. When I moved in they didn't even have carts or anything to help me move in and I had to carry everything into the building myself. They told me people use them and don't bring them back so there was nothing they could do. During my move in day I had to wait an hour and a half before they gave me my keys because they were giving priority to potential residents and giving them tours and making me wait. Like I said, don't be fooled by their hospitality during the process. Once you sign, any problems you have you'll have to solve on your own.

I have lived here for a while and now wish I could get out. For what is advertised, as a new build with great amenities, there have just been too many issues to even bother listing. Nashville is flooding with new apartment builds, 3 in the radius area, that are preparing to open. The Acklen is overpriced and over hyped. Comparison shop before you buy i.e. sign a lease. It also looks like the positive reviews were written by marketers. Had high hopes when I moved in but the "shiny' has worn off.
I have lived here almost a year and am actually now renting two places so I can get away from this place. Acklen had a lot of potential, but has really failed to create a livable environment for residents who are not partying undergraduates. The design of the apartments around the pool has created excessive noise at all times of the night (loud music, screaming, profanity) for apartments on the inside. Common areas are regularly trashed or vandalized during weekend benders. The amenities are nice, but are not particularly usable unless you feel like being surrounded by drunk 20 somethings. Management can be rude at times or unhelpful. Cory is a life saver, though. He is very kind and helpful. The price is pretty good for the spaces. Do not get tricked into a half wall if you plan to use second bedroom in the B floorplan. The walls are paper thin inside the apartment. Water pressure is horrendous. You cannot do dishes by hand or shower for less than 20 minutes (if you have hair to shampoo). Valet trash is a money trap. Security gates are always open, which is good because the remotes to the gates don't work

It is a quick walk or drive to some of Nashville's favorite restaurants and everyday needs and Downtown is just a short drive or cab ride. The building is brand new which makes it feel like it is really your own space. The amenities are so nice with a large pool with sunning decks and great courtyards for hosting your friends and family. With is being friendly and quiet you can really get away from the stresses of life and enjoy living.

Hi, thank you so much for the positive review! Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything additional we can do for you.
When it comes to location, this is the best price for a studio. It is brand new and management is awesome. Minutes from Belmont university, Vanderbilt university, and one turn from I440. This is a major benefit when it comes to traveling around Nashville. Acklen apartments have a rooftop lounge that is extremely nice, a state of the art gym, and also a virtual golf area to perfect your swing.

Hi, thank you so much for your high rating! Your recommendation means so much to us and we're so happy to have earned it. Thank you again for taking the time to let the world know about your positive experience. Have a great day!
Pros: open floor plans, responsive management, weight room, beautiful pool area, tv's everywhere, secure covered parking, golf swing simulator. Cons: contractors cut some corners with the flooring, cabinetry, and cable jack, but everything looks nice. Also, the price means fewer twentysomethings live here (a con for a recent grad looking to make new friends). Verdict: the pros outweigh the cons and this is the best place to live in West End if it fits in your budget.
