I didn’t want to give one star because, management and maintenance are really nice and friendly, however I’ve been complaining about the upstairs neighbor’s noise since I’ve moved in. I’ve called the office several times, emailed management many times, and I even tried to get help from the after hours courtesy officer ( who didn’t even respond or follow up) and 3 months later I’m still having the same issue. I’m so tired and frustrated trying to get this situation resolved.

DO NOT LIVE HERE ! We have been here for less than a year and the issues have not stopped. They refuse to fix anything ! there is a homeless encampment next to it and they break into peoples cars, the complex never did anything about it and hid it from their renters ! PLEASE DON’T LIVE HERE !

I love it! Very friendly staff! Very clean property. If maintenance is needed, they are quick to assist and repair.
Great office staff and maintenance staff. Beautiful landscaping. Love my apartment. Only issue is that some residents do not care about proper disposal of their trash. Very annoying, ugly and unsafe. I was appalled when I couldn?t throw my trash away because the path to the compactor was completely blocked with trash.
Overall my experience at Colonial Grand at Ashton Oaks has been good. The apartments have been in good condition, and I do not have Maintenence issues. (Which I have experienced at all other apartments I have lived in.) And I feel like the price is absolutely fair for the area. I also enjoy the open floor plans. The two things I really wish were different is the vistor parking, and trash. The visitor parking is a hassle because you have to go online and register the guests vehicle. You must do this for everyone who is on the property after 8 pm. This means if I have friends or family over for just even a dinner and movie you must get their lisence plate number and all. And you miss one letter or number they will tow you immediately and it cost $200. It?s a hassle and excessive. And if you have a guest staying for like a week, you must register the vehicle everyday. Which is too much time. The trash is always over flowing and they really need to add another compactor, or need them to come and empty it more. The staff is for the most part nice. A few are not friendly, or helpful. Also they girls can make very few decisions when they?re there alone. Can be frustrating. But all in all I am happy, and will renew my lease for another year.
Great with the exception on a problem barking dog.
This place was awesome before the new management took over and started their policies. One of the main reasons I chose this place was because of their pool, but now that I moved in I realized they close it at 10pm. I understand 10pm is a reasonable time throughout the week but it should be changed for the weekends and holidays. At 10pm when the pool has 30 people on a Saturday night, an individual walks up to everyone and kicks them out. The first time he told me “ it’s 10pm, get out now. It’s either by the complex way or my way.” I had no idea who he was but he kept on saying “read your contract, it’s in there.” PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the fine print when signing the contract. I know plenty of residents including myself who are moving out as soon as our lease is over.

This is the worst experience I have ever had. Awful 12 months dealing with my AC going out twice in the heat of Texas summers, as well as many other issues. To start, when we first moved in here the apartment had a lingering smell of old smoke and gross carpet obviously from pets beforehand. There was paint dripped and spilled on the carpet in several places and things were dirty from a terrible make ready job of this place. Aside from that we were charged $8 a month for "pest control" that they don't tell you beforehand you have to "request" to come and hope they can get to you that week whether you paid for it or not. After pest control coming we experienced roaches and spiders still. Next, the staff in the leasing office are very rude when dealing with their residents having any type of issue. My lease was from July 2nd to July 1st and they charged me a separate amount for July 1st rent of one single day at the end which is fine but when it came time to forward me my damage costs and following water bill they tried to charge me AGAIN for July 1st rent and these other misc charges. When I told them nicely, they "fixed" it and sent me the same bill STILL including items they acknowledged I paid. There are constantly cops here and they never notify the residents what is going on, they try to brush it off when you ask about your safety. Lastly, beware of the fact that to bring an animal you are charged $350 PER animal plus $10 a month "pet rent" and this doesn't go towards any damages in the apartment upon moving out. They told me that's just what you pay to be allowed a pet. This place is a scam and a joke. STAY AWAY if you can
Most of the office staff is unfortunately incompetent, especially the assistant property manager. The only staff member we actually felt made a true effort and made us feel welcome was Andrea. There were serious mold issues in our apartment in the bedrooms and closets which we were basically just repeatedly told were 'a little mildew' (sorry but mildew isn't fuzzy) and it kept coming back each time they had maintenance clean it with bleach instead of the issue actually being properly looked into. When I brought the issue up to the assistant property manager he told me "Well it's Texas, humidity is just a problem here!"- WOW, sorry but no, that is no excuse to put our healthy and safety at risk! It's extremely obvious they cut corners on the construction of these apartments as they were built very cheaply. Even maintenance admitted to the poor quality windows. The apartments are just way too overpriced for what you get- they try to make it look nice on the outside but it's just junk. We lived here for two years and although we didn't have trouble with our neighbors besides being able to easily hear them at pretty much all time, we did notice some serious issues with the quality of most of the residents. There were numerous break-ins of both cars and apartments and although the front office would notify by email they never talked about what they would do to up security to prevent more break-ins. There was a stabbing close to us in the front of the complex a couple months before we moved out that we were notified about by email but were told that it was a 'little domestic dispute'. I found out from a coworker that it was a serious stabbing and once again staff didn't up security. The few good things about the apartment complex are the maintenance staff, who always came and fixed things in a reasonable amount of time and the location- the apartments are close to a lot of shopping. Honestly though, these apartments are overpriced and just not safe- look elsewhere.
This is a very nice complex. It is hidden, so not many people pay attention to it as they drive by. They offer preferred employer discounts and the maintenance staff always respond when needed. Washer and dryer comes with each apartment. There is no playground on the property, but it backs up to a City park. The only complaints that I have are that they should put a trash compactor near the back of the complex and the walls are pretty thin.
The location and price are what attracted me. Comes with washer dryer in the unit, and a nice pool. The staff and management have been good so far. I've only had to call maintenance once and that was for a wasp nest that was starting on the balcony. They got back to me and removed it within 12 hours.
I have been living at colonial grand at ashton oaks for a month now and so far my stay has been wonderful. I have had no issues with the maintanence too. Inside of the apartments are pretty good so you do not have to worry about old applicances. Beautiful landscaping. Nice trail which goes from within the complex. Good for biking walking running. Dog park just half mile. There is a park too in half mile. Good locality for families with kids. Lighting too is good in the complex. I do not see any issues with the security. There is a huge pool and fitness area. Good neighbourhood. Nice people around Parking is not so good. Its open parking. You have to reserve a spot for carport but never seem to have a place available. But open parking is ample. Closet is very small. I did buy few organisers but its too tight. Even if you do not want cable $50 is added to your bill. Guess you have no choice. We did rent storage but storage below is way too small.. its a joke. Well yes there are few downsides but nothing that bothers us so much. We hv accomodated ourselves very well.
