Property Ratings at MAA Briarcliff
I originally really liked the setting of this complex and apartment layout/upgrades. Since May 2022 there have been concerns:the gates are sometimes are left broken or open for days at a time. There is one (of four) treadmills that has been broken the entire time I’ve lived here. There is an old, junky, abandoned, Mercedes near the back pool that has an expired registration parked in a prime parking spot for 4 months (told the office about it in June, still there). The back pool has been closed for two weeks with no explanation (although clearly the pool is working and clean) of why or when it will reopen (it’s still summer BTW). We are paying for these amenities-do something!

the fake hard wood floor coloring is strong & rubs off on the carpet. becomes a stain and now have to pay. Theyll take 95 out of your deposit to clean it. Major applinces needing replacing and wouldnt.

We literally love everything so far! from the peaceful location tucked between a lot of tall trees and plenty of nature, the quite atmosphere, proximity to midtown and lots of public transit stops, to the wonderful & convenient amenities, professional staff and maintenance, our great spacious apartment, we can't believe how luck we were to land this place! Really recommend for everyone!

Hello, we are very happy to have provided you with such a positive experience! If you have any further questions, please give us a call. We're always happy to help! Take care!
If you want to live in the neighborhood where Post Briarcliff is I would recommend looking somewhere close that is not an MAA property. There are a lot other complexes. There is a reason they are offering residents referral fees that go up to $1000. There are a lot of empty apartments and it is on par with the service you receive living here. Constant employee turnover in the front office, seemingly month to month. Either the front gate or resident gate is out of service about every 2 weeks. Slow response to maintenance requests that get you the bare minimum of service. I had five maintenance requests for my AC unit this summer alone with lukewarm air and loss of power to the thermostat that cost me $500 in my last two power bills (for a 2 bedroom apartment). Then Post kept my $200 security deposit and charged an extra $67 because I did not clean (quote from their app on the charge) "kitchen sink, stove top, bathroom mirror, tub, sink, AC vent, window sills". So apparently you are to leave the apartments as if no one ever lived there. There is a reason why there are so many empty apartments at this complex. Do your homework and move somewhere where you will get better service.
Live here since 2008. Rated it 5 stars until 2017. Under new management, going through major urban economic changes. Upgrading and more expensive, must to stay in business. New property manager progressing in almost 700-unit community. Some nice wooded areas. I'll further raise rating as conditions further improve.

I went in yesterday to view this complex as a potential new home. Whoever the girl is that showed me the apartment ruined it for my boyfriend and I the second we walked in. She was rude, dry, constantly rolling her eyes, and talked to us like we were stupid. Once she found out we were from Chicago is when her attitude really got bad. My boyfriend left to use the bathroom so I was asking her questions to pass time, and every response was aggressive followed with an eye roll. Instead of her providing knowledgeable information, it seemed like she was bothered that we even stopped by. The apartment complex itself wasn’t horrible. A little outdated for my taste. I’ve seen much nicer apartments with friendlier office staff, so I will take my money where it’s deserved and appreciated :)

Please allow us to apologize on behalf of the entire staff here for the unsatisfactory service you received from a member of our leasing team. Your experience does not reflect the high standards to which we hold our employees and lets us know that there are some things we need to work on. We would like to have the opportunity to make up for this unfortunate situation. If you'd like to discuss this further, call us at 866-620-1130. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Very poor rental office. We gave 5 months notice of our lease termination date via email from the registered email address. The front office failed to respond and later claimed we failed to give proper notice in spite of showing them the email which specifically stated that date and to contact us if anything further needs to be done. They deducted fees from our security deposit stating we gave improper notice. I would stay away from this apartment in light of their unethical practices and non-responsive front desk.
This place is a total scam. They'll say anything to get you in the door but behind the facade the apartments are trash and the neighbors are despicable. It's a completely unethical business and I regret ever moving there.
I love living at Post Briarcliff. The neighborhood is safe and the location is extremely convenient. It’s next door to Whole Foods and a few minute drive to Publix, Kroger, CVS and tons of shops and restaurants. It’s also an easy drive to Virginia-Highlands, Buckhead, Little Five Points, etc. (as long as you don’t go during rush hour). The apartments are spacious and many come with private garages (my apartment has an enormous stall shower, great closets, an alcove, wood floors and a two-car garage). The staff is professional, responsive and extremely nice. Maintenance is excellent and performed within 24 hours. The grounds are clean and well kept. The security gates always work. Most apartment communities have negatives and Post Briarcliff is no exception: rent is high; rush hour traffic is heavy in this part of town; if your apartment faces Briarcliff, traffic noise is extremely loud – even late at night (I have to use a white noise machine when I sleep); and there aren’t any parks or MARTA stations within walking distance. But If you want a large apartment in a great location, this is a wonderful place to live.
I have lived in 4 apartments in just 2 years as well as worked in residential real estate for the past year, and I have to say, Post Briarcliff is on point. The leasing process is streamlined--no one/two month's rent up front, you can apply online, and your lease agreement is available online for you to review whenever you want. I've lived here for a year now and everything has been fantastic. The leasing staff is super nice and any time I have a maintenance issue it gets done the same day I let the office know. Plus the pools, tennis courts, and 24 hour fitness center don't hurt! It really is like living at a resort. If you're looking for a great place to live, you can't go wrong with Briarcliff.
This is a gated community. Most quality apartments/condos in Atlanta are gated. I was a tenant of Post Briarcliff for one year, and it was nothing but great experience. The staff were prompt and responsive for maintenance needs. The amenities were good. Some of the units were going through renovation. I was in one of the old units, so I didn't get to walk on hardwood floors like my neighbor, but that wasn't important to me. Whole Foods is conveniently located adjacent to the apartment complex, so if you are a fan of Whole Foods, you are in luck. There is also a great pizzeria next to it. The washing and drying machines were not provided in the apartment unit. I had the option of renting it but they do have a washing/drying room on premise. To use those machines, required me to purchase a special debit card. Many times, there would be one or two machines broken. It was annoying as all the units would be in-uses most of the day. The pools they have are nice. Rent prices, obviously, went up and that was the reason for me to relocate. For its location, which is away from the excitement, i.e., Midtown, and that bicycling or taking the MARTA (the bus) to that part of town isn't safe or efficient (bus comes irregularly, no bike paths), I don't see how this place can be charging on par or more than the apartments along the BeltLine. But if you want "isolation" from all the city hustle, then this is the place to be in Atlanta (or move out of the city to Decatur).
We mainly chose this complex due to its close drive to emory as well as midtown. When we arrived to Post Briarcliff we were amazed at all the amenities! There are two pools that make you feel like your at a resort, tons of pincic areas with gas hook-ups, and a gym with a wide variety of nice machines with personal tvs and free weights. The apartments themselves are very spacious. There is also plenty of parking outside our buliding and its also convienently located to shopping and supermarkets.
been living in post Briarcliff for a few months now. Clean property, nice apartments, 2 pools, quit neighborhood and staff that helps you out when you need it. What else could you want?
This apartment complex is wonderful!! The customer service is amazing, and I've never been happier in an apartment. The maintenance staff is quick to respond and very helpful.
Post Briarcliff has beautiful grounds with good upkeep. The double pools are quite tranquil and relaxing during Atlantas hot summers. You almost feel like you're on vacation ! Apartments are all unique in that the spaces can meet each individuals needs . Airy and bright with big windows keep you feeling like you are in a home. If something needs attention , management responds with haste . There is a newly renovated workout room as well as a rec room with entertainment centers . All in all it's great for single or family living. I love Post Briarcliff !
My apartment is a little piece of heaven. The staff in post Briarcliff are angels. The amenities are what dreams are made of. There is never a cloudy day in post. The staff is always there to assist. Day or night. John, Steve and Louis always courteous and ready to help. Thank you God for allowing me to call post Briarcliff my home. It's a blessing for me and my children. Thank you post for everything you do for us!
I like Post Briarcliff for all the different perks it offers. It was the best price for the location (near Emory) and easy access to lots of places in Atlanta via Briarcliff Rd. The 2 pools and beautiful gym are very convenient, as well as being able to quickly walk to the Whole Foods, Mellow Mushroom and other close by places.
The Post is fairly high-end living for the Emory area. Nice buildings in good condition, beautiful landscaping, and a very pretty pool (actually two) round this out as a top choice. It's pretty expensive for one person, and the larger apartments are certainly more than you would pay otherwise even with a roommate. But, you get what you pay for. My only complaint is the supposed clubhouse by the pool - the hours are intentionally set so that you'll never be able to use it (10am-4pm weekdays) because they charge you $200 to access it otherwise.
The apartment itself was okay. Fairly clean grounds and pretty safe community/area. The issue I had was their slow nickel and dime price increases. New fees and monthly charges while I lived here. Then the ridiculous rent increase to renew my lease. More than a 20% hike! My moving expenses will be covered in under two months after I move out.
