Hixson is a primarily suburban community just a few minutes north of Chattanooga proper. Michelle has made our move-in process at Steeplechase flawless! Everything from filling out the application and virtual tour to signing our lease and getting our keys. Not only are her and the rest of the staff kind, but they are also great at following up with you and taking the time to answer any questions you may have. I can't say enough good things about Michelle and those working at Steeplechase. She is definitely a top-notch Property Manager! During the move-in inspection, we listed a few things we noticed around the apartment and SAME day, they were addressed, which was ahead of the estimated time they stated maintenance would be able to get to them since it was the day after a holiday. The maintenance team is quick to come out and actually fix the problem with status updates and notes left in your online portal on what exactly was done. The online portal is easy to use when requesting work orders and allows you to upload pictures, if needed. The property is well-maintained and finding a spot in the parking lot is never an issue. Steeplechase has great water pressure (that actually stays hot), ceiling fans in the bedrooms, spacious porches and closets (my favorite part), a garbage disposal, washer and dryer hook-ups, is pet friendly, and for the most part, is super quiet! I lived here many years ago as well with no issues or complaints. If you're looking for a nice apartment complex in a convenient part of town with staff who care for their tenants and actually address your concerns, Steeplechase is the place! We can't thank you guys enough and look forward to the rest of our time here.

I am a current soon to be leaving resident. You do not want to live here. There are better values for your money all over town and you will regret your decision with time if you choose to live in this complex. At the new price point..do not waste that much money here. It should cost half as much. If you enjoy running water and pest control stay and reliable internet stay away from here. The water gets shut off couple times a month if not week. This has been routine over the last 10 months of me living here. Having worked in the construction and plumbing business, I am very certain they were made aware of future issues that would arise the first time a company fixed a major leak in the pipes. Since that first fix we have had no few than 7 or 8 major repairs done to the pipes with many more "minor" ones. This appears to be an obvious case of the company trying to save a buck as opposed to fixing the whole issue the right way the first time. Pest control is basically non-existent. I fought wasps on my balcony all summer long as they would routinely build hives around the premises. 2 of which were attached to my balcony. When you are not outside fighting those you are inside dealing with ants all summer long or roaches during the colder months regardless of how clean you keep your apartment. Other issues would include something weird going on in the plumbing system that causes the toilet water to smell terrible. I have bleached and cleaned the toilet inside and out over and over again and something in the water when it sits in there makes it smell horrible. It also causes the toilet to get nasty at an alarming rate. I can do a full cleaning on a monday and by thursday or friday the toilet already looks gross. This happens with both toilets in the apartment. Also there is a cant get rid of musty smell constantly in the appartment. I have tried cleaning the place top to bottom and cannot get the smell out. I event tried a dehumidifier. nothing works. they are just old musty apartments. The internet. If you are used to having reliable internet the internet here is horrible. you are forced into using xfinity as they don't allow ebp. This is not a fiber line it is a standard cable line and honestly I question the upkeep of the lines into the complex. I have one of the best modem(surfboard 8200) and router (Asus GT-AC5300) combinations you can own and the internet constantly loses service. I had this exact equipment at other locations and never had a problem

I’ve lived at Steeplechase for a few years in two separate apartments. Yes it is quiet and relatively relaxing. But here are the downsides (that nobody tells you).. First and foremost, ROACHES. Everywhere. God forbid your apartment is not properly sealed, these 2-3” vermin will be your new pets. Maintenance cannot get rid of them. I’ve seen them the entire time I’ve lived here and now that they are inside they will not leave and I cannot get rid of them (and maintenance can’t seem to either) Second, the gym is a pitiful excuse for a gym. Not very well maintained at all and the equipment is laughable. The property manger, Erin, is sweet but she seems out of her depth. You can tell she is trying but there has just been a lot put on her plate. This place has potential but they need to get the pest problem under control before the bugs land on the wrong person..

What I enjoy about living at Steeplechase is the environment. It?s a quiet community, the groundskeeping is always to perfection and the office staff are pleasant to work with.

This is the second time we've rented at Steeplechase. We came back for the convenience of location, the price, and how management works with each tenant individually. The manager was the leasing consultant the last time we lived here, but when my children wanted their own places to live, we all went our own ways. Now, my daughter and I share an apartment here and we truly enjoy the complex. It's clean, well kept, and managed quite well. This is our second lease and I'm sure we will resign for a third year in the Spring when it's time to renew.
I've lived here twice and love living here. The management is excellent, the property is well maintained. The wooded setting is the best and the people watch out for each other. It's more than a complex, it's a community!
