Glen Allen is a quiet suburban community on the north side of Richmond, roughly ten miles from the city center. The community is primarily composed of residential neighborhoods, with a large shopping center on the northeast corner of town, anchored by the popular Virginia Center Commons. The excellent public schools and low crime rate attract many Richmond-area commuters to Glen Allen, especially those raising families.
A cluster of large parks and golf courses on the south side of town provides excellent opportunities to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and the tranquility of nature, particularly the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. With Richmond so close at hand, it’s easy to hop down and take advantage of the historic city’s dining, entertainment, and sightseeing anytime.

Car broken into. Pool unmanaged and dirty. Can't enjoy quality air inside apartment due to cigarette, cigar, and marijuana smoke bombardment. Can't enjoy balcony due to NOISE, cigarette, cigar, and marijuana bombardment. Completely inconsiderate neighbors. Property management and above will not support you in any meaningful or effective way. Spoken with other neighbors about the quality of their living environment, the list of complaints is exhausting. Two maintenance staff to handle entire property results in neglect. Dog hair EVERYWHERE inside what was supposed to be a "ready" apartment. Dryer a fire hazard with so much dog hair, lint build-up. Too much money to pay for an "un-luxury" apartment. Keep looking.

Guys, This is genuine review. I had a very worst experience with this apartment. You have to very careful on all the flooring and carpets. If you have any small scratches or small tear on the floor. They will ask you to pay more than $1200+ as damaged charges. Be careful when you moving out. Make sure everything all right. No single damage on the floor like scarce or tear. it’s happened to me. Very horrible experience when you pay out of pocket that much huge money. Almost a month rent.

I lived here for 2 years and the office staff and this company are always nickel and diming. The "Connect Fee" for basic cable is a joke and their "high-speed internet" is 200 MBPS at best. They continuously add these with no way to opt out, also barring you from getting your own service not through the complex. Buildings are old and any linoleum issues are messily caulked over, same with the bathroom. Carpet is shoddily tacked down and rugs had to be placed to prevent injury. Office staff is also unprofessional and continuously promised information or updates concerning renovations to the property or maintenance and never followed up. Do not recommend.

Management team here is very misleading with information. The team will do about anything to get you to sign a lease. After touring a few units, the buildings and grounds are very outdated for the suggested prices they are asking. I decided to take another route and now they refuse to refund the reservation/ holding fee (failing to mention a refundable "48 hr window") Be careful dealing with this property group.

Love the property love the staff just wish I had an upgraded apartment and that my rent wouldn't increase so much every time I sign a new lease
The interior is nice, but needs improvements as to wearing better. Better window treatments, more storage area for kitchen and personal items. The 2 bedroom 2 bath is still pretty small and not enough room for people that are older. The people that work here are great!
The maintenance team does exceptional work and is quick to a response and a fix. The office staff listens and will go out their way if they are able.
I feel quite comfortable living here however I do feel there is room for improvement in certain areas. Management and maintenance personal are fantastic.
Apartment community is nice but we don't have any recycling facilities at dumpster. Dumpster get full all the time because there are no recycling bins. Management should think about Recycling that will help waste management and also good for environment.We must have paper, plastic and food compost recycling bin in our property. We don't like to throw paper or plastic in garbage so every week I have to make trip to recycling center since we don't have in our community. We should think about eco friendly environment so we can give our next generation fresh air ,water etc. I hope management will think about recycling bins and encourage residents to use them once we have in our property.
I enjoy living at Colonial Village at Hampton Glen because it has a very friendly and safe atmosphere. The other residents for the most part are friendly and approachable. I like that there is a security vehicle that patrols the complex in the evenings. It makes me feel much safer knowing that. I also appreciate that in inclement weather, the management usually has a truck come through and scrape the parking lots. Also, the maintenance men pre-treat the sidewalks and will clear off the sidewalks not too long after snow. All in all, I really enjoy the apartment community of Colonial Village at Hampton Glen.
Pleasant neighbors, great employees at mgmt office, clean environment, outdated apt but renovated, price went up so much after first year, great area to live.
I?ve enjoyed it thus far. I have a one bedroom apartment. The staff is excellent. I feel like they really care about my well being. Maintenance is awesome; friendly and responsive.

They are good. My neighbor above me is very noisy and loud, I'm not used to living on the first floor where a lot of bugs have a tendency to come through.
The office is ready to help with any problem and the maintainence crew is very efficient and lnowlegable
The office staff have reviewed on this page itself. Initiation and follow through with new policies is faulty and inconsistent. When help was needed with a building defect regarding electricity the suggestion was to fix it yourself. Another situation the same reviewer insinuated that my husband was making me up although she signed us up together. Third situation, we paid our monthly rent consistently on time and the one time it was not because we thought it was due the 5th not the 3rd (who does that?) they were not understanding and still charged a late fee on the 5th when we did realize this. Very poor customer service. Fourth situation included the new pool passes where they charge you $40 a person if you don't return said pool passes that they themselves only check on if there is a life guard on duty 2 out of 7 days a week for 4hr periods. Tell me what kind of place does this nonsense. Very dissatisfied. Maintenance staff were the friendliest. Maybe office should take a few pointers.

From the day I moved in I can’t say enough about this amazing property. They were warm and welcoming and extremely helpful. The only complaint I have about it isn’t their fault. It’s all the idiots on gaskins road honking horns at all hours of day and night. Other than that whenever I had a problem it was fixed immediately and completely. Within hours of reporting an issue they handled it and always let me know it was addressed and completed. They always asked me how I was and how I was enjoying living there. I really am sad to go the only reason I am leaving is because I was able to buy a house otherwise I would have stayed.

My boyfriend and I have been to many places around the richmond area but this one stands high above the rest. We felt welcome immediately arriving there and Laurie was so helpful! She showed us around and offered many options to fit our budget. Ask for Laurie if you visit! She's amazing!! The community is quiet, clean and many recently renovated apartments. I'm so happy we found this place! The location is just an added bonus!

This place is a complete dump! My apartment had roaches when I first moved in, a cracked bedroom window, none of sockets work, so much condensation on the windows you cannot see out of them, the a complex nickel and dime you for everything they are certainly into make money and doesn't care about the quality of the apartment. The trash dumps are always over flowing and in the hot days of summer the smell that comes from the dumps are aweful. Require for you to get the carpets professional cleaned when you move out....and the list goes on and on and on...to make a long story short do not move here. The nice neighbors, and the location is the only thing positive I have to say about this complex....DO NOT MOVE HERE!...and to add to this above issues when it comes time to getting back your deposit forget it they will find a way to take all of it....this is so sad! BEWARE!!

This is a good apartment community to live in if you want to reside in the West End of Richmond. It is conveniently located 5 minutes from Innsbrook. This will save you lots of time on your commute to work. It is also located 5 minutes from Interstate 64 and 295. This makes it super fast to get anywhere around town including the Short Pump dining and shopping areas. Affordable prices for 1 - 3 bedrooms apartments with all the conveniences.
The office staff and maintenance staff are the best! They are attentive and very helpful, especially Stephanie, Ricky and Kaz. There is a pool and tennis courts, as well as fitness room. The apartments are decent. I wanted upgraded appliances but it wasn't an option when I moved in. I understand that they are available now. I like the washing machine and dryer included with the apartment. The most important thing for me is I am very close to Short Pump. There is everything you need to shop and eat good. Crystal V
