Anderson, also known as the “Electric City,” gets its moniker from being the first Southern town to have wired power lines and the world’s first site of practical hydro-electrical power. Anderson lies 30 miles southwest of downtown Greenville, and depending upon traffic along Highway 29 and Interstate 85, the trip into Greenville will take you between 35 and 45 minutes.

With five golf courses, two museums, an art center, a playhouse, a university and a mall, Anderson residents never have to leave home for entertainment. The fun extends to the water with nearby Lake Hartwell only 35 miles away. With 56,000 acres of lake, you can swim, fish or boat until your heart’s content. Also including hiking trails, camping areas and two waterfront restaurants, Lake Hartwell attracts locals and tourists year round.

There are squirrels in the attic/walls, cockroaches since the first day of moving in (don't believe I've ever even seen pest control spray or whatever), and old and worn-out appliances that need to be replaced. Not a pleasant experience.

This was my fiancé and I’s first apartment experience. We are very easy to please in the extreme, but even considering that, I think these are very nice for the price. I often refer to our little 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit as our little cozy corner, our little love nook, or our little humble abode. Everyone I have ever interacted with here has been wonderfully kind, both neighbors, management and other staff. The complex is always beautifully maintained, and the pool looks to be in tip top shape year-round. The tennis court is a lot of fun. The area has us so spoiled. We are so close to anything and everything. I absolutely hate to leave when our lease is up, but it’s been a long 2 years of driving 40 minutes to work and back each day. If I could clone Tanglewood and put them closer, I would. Even now, I’m doubting if I really want to leave just to shorten the drive.

It?s a quiet well kept neighborhood. I like the new business area. I don?t have internet so it?s convenient for me to print emails. I also enjoy the pool. The maintenance are taken care of in a timely manner.

I enjoy the pool as often as I can. Most of my neighbors are very friendly and the staff is as well!
Very quiet and clean place to live. Maintenance is on time when scheduled and office staff is polite. Wish i could prepay my rent but on time is ok. Pools is great.
In house services (filter changes, pest control, etc.) are performed on time and with advance notice. Reasonably quiet for apartment living. Complaints are handled expeditiously. Charter Cable too expensive and should be upgraded for the price. There is not enough parking!! Each apartment should be assigned one reserved space (some units have more than one car).
Quiet, safe, clean and friendly.
The hours of operation mean nothing. They frequently close multiple hours early which prohibits working adults from ability to access the office. They claim to reward referrals with $250, but will find every excuse to withhold it and never actually give it. Holes in the walls are the fault of the squirrels and apparently not the apartment's responsibility to fix upon move-in. They also claim to provide free cable, but in reality charge $40 per month regardless of your desire for cable.

My apartment is a very peaceful place it has a park like feel to it thanks to all the time the staff spends fixing it up. All the people I have come in contact with here are very friendly and that helps to make new friends. The office staff is very helpful from the application process to move in and all the questions in between they try their best to make living here an enjoyable stress free experience and so far it has been great. Oh and did I forget to mention they are pet friendly so pet lovers will love it I know I do.
Tanglewood is a nice apartment complex. It's a bit older and the apartments themselves are average, nothing fancy about them. The kitchen is a bit small. Only 1 1/2 baths in two bedrooms. Parking is okay but it wasn't planned well so some areas are packed while others have excess parking. It's a beautifully wooded area so shading helps with summer months. The staff are friendly and maintenance are quick to fix things. Prices are reasonable, although they do have a lot of addons including required TV service. Overall, it's a fine place to live.
Tanglewood is overall a nice complex. It's in a pretty, wooded setting. It's close right off Hwy81 with lots of growth nearby lately. My apartment is well shaded and the electric bill averages under $50/month year round. I'm in a two-bedroom. Traditional layout. Nothing special about the apartment itself and the kitchen is small. There are only 1 1/2 bathrooms. Noise is okay, depending on a few things. In most of the apartment sounds from other apartments are muffled. However, in the bathrooms, you can hear everything. The vents seem to be connected so sound travels through them with crystal clarity. Smells, too. Also, the floorboards of the apartment above are noisy. I think the guy above me owns a fat kangaroo. The staff are friendly. Any problems I've had have always been addressed. Sometimes it takes a while for larger projects but generally it's next day service. Parking is not the best, but not terrible. Poor planning originally created reduced parking in some areas. Most of the people here are very friendly. It's a big mix of families, retirees, college students, and the rest of us young/middle aged adults. There are lots of dog owners. Most are responsible. Several idiots who don't bother leashing or picking up after their dogs despite constant warnings from the office. Rent is reasonable but be prepared for all the addons (required TV, pest, water, a charge just to bill you!, etc) and the annual increase of $30 to $40. I'm in my third year here and am now paying $70 more per month than when I started. At this pace I'll have to move within a few years. They also have some really weird way of determining the rent when you sign the lease that varies on the day of the week, the month, the season, the alignment of the planets and this week's special at Tucker's. I was told the apartment I wanted was $605. I went in to sign the papers two weeks later and it had changed to $625. It's like gas prices, changing at corporate's whim. They said "everyone" does it that way (the same for the $.99 billing charge) although I'd never come across it before. Thems the rules, I guess. Overall, I like it here. I'll stay as long as I can afford it.
The whole area is very peaceful. People are friendly and all pets are welcome. The staff is very friendly and always professional. The complex is near places that is of convenience to anybody. BI-LO, Publix, and Wal-Mart are within half of mile. There is a walking track right across the street. The whole community is just safe for a single person as well as family. I would recommend this apartment to anybody.
Lots of insects and extra fees like trash pickup, water, cable tv(don't have a choice), pest control, and even a billing fee.
