Property Ratings at MAA Tysons Corner
Here is my experience within 1 year of leaving in the Post Tysons corner apartment. Leaving on the 4th floor, with the rain the roof was licking in the bathroom and leaving room, elevators out of services more than 3 weeks, saw maintenance people in my apartment without permission, the heating system didn't work properly and paid way more than a normal gas bill. The property manager and higher manager can't help any of these situations.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Your feedback helps us improve and we would like to learn more about how we can continue to do all possible to exceed our residents' expectations.
I have stayed here since last year July and it feels like not a single week has gone by without some work being done. The whole place is so noisy. It definitely is not for people who stay in their apartments during the day. The noise starts at 9 and continues till 7pm, and on top of that the fire alarm goes off at random times and often even after midnight. Constant work going on but you can't really tell what is being done. Elevators randomly go off and there have been quite a few days with no water in the morning. Also the Water heater doesn't work properly and you definitely will have to wait a long time. You definitely won't get your money worth and you definitely wouldn't get any peace. There have been days I had to take pain meds for the head ache from the constant noise. If you decide to move here, well welcome to a constant state of noisy inconvenience. Only good thing is the location and view from some of the apartments.

This company constantly performs repeated exterior "renovations" to hike their prices without actually improving the property. This means there is constant loud noise (banging outside the window or patio, loud machines constantly running on all sides of the property, yelling, etc). The prices are ridiculous for the area. Their policies are maintained and distributed through multiple means, and are often vague and overtly meant to confuse you so that they can charge you thousands of dollars in meaningless fees. Based on reading reviews from other MAAC properties, I would avoid this company at all cost. Worst experience in my 10 years of renting.

This place deserves no stars. I am a young man that usually doesn’t have a hard time conforming to different situations, because of this I usually do not have problems with the places I live. Post Tyson’s Corner is the only place I’ve had issues with. First of all, when I moved in my dishwasher was flooded and many of the light fixtures were out. Two simple things you, as a manager or maintenance worker, should check before a new tenant moves in. Second, they are very bad at letting people know when disturbances will be present such as power tools used to fix the apartments. The management team here is irresponsible, not caring or considerate, and do not make things easy for tenants. Tenants are often having to change for the apartments needs, where as apartments should be changing to make tenants happy. I can’t wait to get out of this place! If you are like me and think you don’t get bothered by much, this place is different. Stay away!

Definitely a great value for the area. Very affordable and convenient. The team has been helpful from day one. I moved in May, and i am not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from. I have heard that the current team is somewhat new, so they must have turned things around. Very quick with maintenance tickets. Alot of nice neighbors as well.

We're heartened by your feedback about our community and the acknowledgment of the superior service you've received. Our team is working diligently daily to ensure that our residents are comfortable and satisfied; so glad to hear you find real value in your experience with us!
I found this to be the most affordable option in the area. It is no frills, but they have a great outdoor space and nice team. I moved in about two months ago, and I am not sure what the comments are about the "rude" team. I find all of the staff extremely helpful.

First of all, This property does not deserve a any star! I lived at Post properties for 9 years and Never had any issues but recently the property got bought by MAA management and in less a year I decided to move. When i was moving, they on the last day gave me a move out form and were asking me to sign on a paper that says I have to do professional carpet cleaning. When i asked them to show me my lease they pretended to look for it and finally said that the lease says that I have to return the sppartment the way i received it and thats Y I have to do a professional carpet cleaning and provide a certificate that I did it. When I asked them further questions all of the associates came by and started pressuring me that O have to agree to do the professional cleaning because the move out form ( which btw i received while i was there) states that. When I asked them logical questions all of them walked away - totally disrespectful! I have never seen people behave sooo unprofessionally in such type of set up. I have lived in sooo many apartments all over tysons and have never seen this type of crapy behavior. The previous management was soo professional and this management is a big ZERO compared to them!!! The manager itself was so rude. Also, the service while i was living there was terrible. Requistions were taking 5 days and more . ELEVATOR WAS OUT FOR MORE than TWO MONTHS! and if u ask them any questions, they will answer like as if they are doing ypu a favor. AC in the master bedoom sucks good luck during summer!! If u are picking this as ur home- Please be sure what u are running into. 1. Check the move out form first and 2. check the compulsory professional cleaning. 3. Check how many times their Lift was out in the last year ( total days) 4. Good luck with dealing with these guys. Even if they offer me this property for half price I will not take it!!!

This apartment do not deserve even one star. When it comes to charging money, wow they are super duper fast and proactive. But when it comes to service, these guys are fast as a snail. Let me be fair to snail. THE STAFF IS EXTREMELY RUDE and THEY DON’T CARE AT ALL. This apartment is bad in several aspects: 1. Leasing assistant – I moved this this community in 2014, when I moved initially the staff was extremely good and polite and they wanted to help as much as they can. After one year I moved to another apartment in same location but not tall building. When I moved the carpet was dirty, (They claimed that it was new carpet but it was not) there was black and dirty edges by entrance and by bedroom doors. 2. Two or 3 months after the bathroom tile started peeling off we did complained so many time they never took action to fixing it properly instead maintenance guy just fill it with some with stuff 3. When I singed leased for 2017 I made sure that its for 11 months but mean while management changed and I don’t know what happened but when I went to office to give move out notice they said I have to stay until aug or else they will charge me 2 months rent (I decided to keep the apartment and just pay rent for 1 and half month) , I honestly thing they could have let me go and use apartment for someone else. 4. Worst: the leasing office is trying to take every penny from you – even if I do not renew my lease for the full year, they charge full amount of Amenity fee and parking fee; not prorated, no negotiation room, simply tell you that one time fee should be paid in full regardless of how long you stay!!! And not willing to explain 5. After I retuned my keys I got an email from Post asking for following charges, and they completely fail to explained the charge. a. Water Charge for $110 – we didn’t even used a single drooped since we moved out I don’t understand where does it came from b. Carpet clean 2 x 2 – $119 , for what the carpet which was already dirty when we moved in 2015, I thought Landlord has to change carpet after renters leave, they changed it for ppl who were living around us. While we were there, when we got apartment carpet was already dirty and with black spot in entrance c. Misc charges for paint – 150 ? ?? No where in lease or when I went to give notice they mention about the paint at all…
This apartment is bad in several aspects: 1. Leasing assistant – when I applied the one who assisted me did not mention all the hidden fees such as amenity fee; although I found out but just feel bad about not telling 2. Very old complex – sound proof is very bad; you can hear people walking upstairs giving annoying squeezing sound of the wooden floor; or when your neighbor does laundry it is even worse; I complained to Leasing office but they lie about the floor plan claiming that it impossible for me to hear others doing laundry 3. Often broken hot water system (even in winters) and elevators – every other months this happens and it takes more than two weeks to fix; the central heating system broke as well on new year’s eve, and the next day power went off for more than 2 hours at night!!! 4. Worst: the leasing office is trying to take every penny from you – even if I do not renew my lease for the full year, they charge full amount of Amenity fee and parking fee; not prorated, no negotiation room, simply tell you that one time fee should be paid in full regardless of how long you stay!!! And not willing to explain

This company do not deserve even one star. When it comes to charging money, wow they are super duper fast and proactive. If you missed the rent due date even one hour, you have to pay a fee. But when it comes to service, these guys are fast as a snail. Let me be fair to snail. It faster than these guys:) I opened up a service request ticket about the refrigerator on September 3. They stopped by on September 6 and they told us two parts need to be replaced. It took over a month to get the one part replaced and we are still waiting for the second part as of today which is October 28th. On October 14th, I opened another service request about the dishwasher. They stopped by on October 16th, and unfortunately one of the dishwasher part needs to be replaced too. The technician told us we cannot use the dishwasher. Since then, my wife washes the dishes by hand. Last Sunday (October 21st) I stopped by at the Post Tysons Office and talked to their manager. She even didn't care to look the case. She just said "There is nothing I can do. I am sorry". Wowwww. I am living in that community since 2009 and almost 8 years and this is how they response. So, this is how you will be treated as well. Yesterday (October 27th, I sent a message to their headquarter too, and no response so far.
I really enjoy living here at Tyson's Post. I'm right in the heart of one of of not the greatest shopping areas in all of Virginia. I have easy access to route 7, I-495, and the toll road. It's so quite and peaceful that you would never guess your in Tyson's! Always ample parking and you can tell that the management really cares about the property and they take care of it very well. The management is also very informative when it comes to resident notifications. I'm so glad I made the choice to live here and I would do it again if I had the chance.
This is a perfect apartment for those who is looking for apartments that are away from the city but not that far from city life. This apartment is conveniently close to the metro station (silver line), mall and grocery stores. Apartment looks old inside but it is not terrible. It has good swimming pool, tennis courts, small workout room and spacious courtyard. Parking is not convenient with both options (underground garage or outside parking). Unit has washer and dryer so it is really convenient. Overall the apartment is not bad for to rent.

This apartment is in the Fountains in Mclean and it couldn't be more perfect for a one bedroom. All appliances like new and are sleek stainless steel. There is a pool and fitness center and parking. It is located right near the sliver line metro and you can walk to Harris Teeter in 3 minutes. It is very spacious and has 2 closets in the bedroom (1 walk in) as well as a large balcony with a storage closet. A working fireplace is also a great perk! The landlord is so sweet and will go out of her way to help with anything you need. Soft carpet in the whole place except kitchen (which is the only part that is mediocre b/c it is small with limited counter space and the bathroom (which is very spacious and high water pressure in shower!) Washer and dryer in unit too! 2nd floor no elevator. Right in the heart of tysons area that is turning more and more cosmopolitan
This is the perfect building if you want a quick walk to the metro, great restaurants and patiospace. The common areas are well maintained and staff incredibly helpful. Unlike other apartments in this area, it has a large courtyard with a pool, lounge chairs and dining tables.
