Louisville is the largest city in Kentucky, resting alongside the Ohio River on the Kentucky-Indiana border. The architecture in Louisville is a mix of old and new, with historic neighborhoods comprised of Victorian houses and towering skyscrapers scattered throughout the downtown area, many of which contain upscale apartments and condos available for rent.
The amenities in Louisville are just as diverse as the architecture. Renting in Louisville affords you the opportunity to see the famous Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, learn more about a boxing legend at the Muhammad Ali Center, and meet a range of animals at the Louisville Zoo. The city’s award-winning restaurant scene is an exemplary display of Southern cooking. Just outside the city lies the Louisville Mega Cavern, a vast underground space offering a broad range of adventurous attractions.

Hi there, thank you so much for your positive comments about Stonemill Village! If you have any further questions, please give us a call. We're always happy to help!
Everything is good for the most part except the electric is very high and being at work all day with everything off the electric runs about 187.00. It’s a small apartment so it shouldn’t be that high. I’d say if the windows and seals around windows were updated it may not be so high. Very nice scenery and staff are always helpful! If I had to suggest anything it would be to have cabinets updated, windows and ac units updated then this place would be worth the money. Very pet friendly my dog approves

I would not describe these apartments as "luxury", and the rent is definitely higher than it is for the apartments alone. If you are looking at apartments in a safe(ish) neighborhood and are comfortable paying more in rent, this might be for you. I have had bug problems since I've moved in, and I've spent over $100 dollars on termination for the bug problem: ants, bed bugs, fleas, and fruit flies were all present in my apartment from the previous renter, and this problem wasn't taken care of in between rentals. As this complex is super pet friendly, I'm not sure if there is anything I can do about this except spend my own money trying to fix this issue. Also, a lot of cars were broken into recently, and lots of valuables were stolen from dozens of cars (which I know they can't really do anything about--it happens). The landlords pretty much sent out a blanket statement saying that they weren't going to do anything about it. There are no patrolling security 24/7 on site (except the occasional stroll from St. Matthews police), and there are no security cameras on site, which means we're never getting our stuff back. It seems they are not willing to take the extra steps to make their residents feel safe and secure. The only reason I feel safe about my belongings is because I have the renters insurance they make you purchase (which is very costly). Also, the landlords are not willing to work with us during a national pandemic about high rent. We are still having to pay "community fees", even though the indoor pool, outdoor pool, and playground is all shut down. We are still having to pay for those services, which isn't exactly fair. The scenery is beautiful, the area is usually safe, and I enjoy the neighbors.

I love Stonemill Village Apartments. The office staff is friendly and maintenance requests are handled quickly and efficiently. It is close to all the major shopping areas and malls and it's a great place to have a family. I honestly couldn't be happier.
I like it because it is located so close to the express-way that gets you to everywhere in town!
Very good experience. This is the second time I?ve lived at Stonemill .
Private living experience. I have been a resident here 7 years this coming November. Management is courteous, friendly and efficient. Maintenance requests are performed within 24 hours or sooner depending on the urgency. Property is well maintained.

Animal friendly for all types, quiet and landscaped nicely in most of the areas Need to update windows and sliding glass doors for more energy efficiency Very diverse in age and race I would recommend
Quiet, peaceful, helpful and loving community
I enjoy the environment around the community. Maintenance is okay, often it takes more than 1 maintenance request to truly get the issue fixed. Unrelated, but the dog ?park? is very bad. The mulch is terrible on the dog?s feet causing them to hate it, and for very few people to use it. Would be nice to have a good dog park.

The property is always well kept and maintained. Any maintenance issues are met promptly and professionally. What a great staff. I?m going on my 4th year here.

Great location and the staff is very helpful and super nice! I have had no issues living here!
I?ve only been here a month but so far what I?ve noticed is they keep the grounds very clean, they are attentive to maintenance request. It?s a quiet complex tucked back in a residential area with mature trees and lots of green space for your dogs. So far my only complaint is lack of parking for non-residents. One covered space is provided for each unit and the open spaces are few, if I had my family over for Sunday dinner I don?t know where they would park. I?m on the ground floor and there is a LOT of noise from upstairs from kids running and people just stomping around, need better insulation I can hear every move they make. Overall however so far so good.

Tranquil Nice grounds Wonderful office staff Clean Safe Pet friendly Plenty of amenities Responds quickly to service request
I don't really know where to start. This place is, by far, the best apartment community I've ever lived in. I don't generally do public reviews, much preferring the personal touch of contacting upper mgmt directly to give accolades, however, I think the staff here deserves special recognition in the St. Matthews community. I feel like they actually care about my family and my experience here. To say they go out of their way to satisfy resident needs is to sell them short. Jessica is just so incredibly sweet and accommodating and has had our back since first showing my husband around in 2016. Julia handles business insanely quickly (we're talking about 15 minutes from my major request to a confirmation call). Jasmine is the most tolerant pregnant woman I've ever met, with a positive attitude to boot, even when I knew she was READY - Moms, you know what's up. Lisa, who is brand new, already knows everybody and can answer darn near your questions about the universe. She's also a hawk about making sure people pick up after their pets, which is awesome. It's rare to find employees brave enough to enforce rules on more entitled residents, so good for her on her interminable integrity. And Kim, our favorite Stonemill matriarch, is sweeter than your mama's mama's sugar cookies and doesn't get enough credit as the [wo]man behind the curtain. She's the angel you never see because she's behind her office door on hours-long corporate calls to push through your requests and run the community in a manner that allows us all to live here worry-free. She's *a* boss and *the* boss, you couldn't ask for a better landlord. I mean, you could, but that'd just be greedy. And, y'all, the unsung heroes throughout these bazillion apartments are our maintenance guys. Terry and Jerry handle every single thing you throw at them. They can't get thanked or paid enough and they could easily oversee the likes of the Biltmore, with salaries to match. Such as it is, we're blessed with their USDA choice work ethic and lightning speed. Never been so impressed and respected by a maintenance crew in my life. It's shockingly difficult to find tradesmen who talk to women respectfully; even men of equal ignorance get more patient explanations than we do. I never have to worry about being belittled here. I'm mad at Terry because my dog would leave me for him, but that's a whole other review. And no, I don't work here, although I bother them enough that they probably wonder from time to
Nice, quiet for the most part and I feel safe. Grounds are beautiful and fairly well kept. Lighting at night is ample. I love that they allow all dogs of all sizes and breeds. Office staff is always courteous and friendly and helpful.
It's quieter than I thought it would be. Usually living in an apartment complex comes with loud tenants but I haven't experienced any trouble. The grounds are great and always look nice. The office staff are the friendliest I've encountered. I lived at a complex where if you called the main office, you were made to feel like you were being a bother.
Besides being an older building with some hiccups the staff are the friendliest Bucharest you could ever have the pleasure of working with
The staff is very accommodating and cordial. The grounds are always kept up and clean. The neighbors are friendly enough not to the way of borrowing or nosy. The trash bins are usually picked up on schedule and with out incident. All around these apts are a nice experience.

We have not had any issues since moving in last year. The property is well kept and enjoyable take walks and be by the pool etc. The staff is all very nice. Having regular email updates is helpful. The apartment itself is comfortable and we have had no problems with maintenance or things breaking. The HVAC is very old and doesn't work the best and I wish there was more lighting and ceiling fans but in general I don't have any complaints. My husband and I really like living here.
great staff,and mainteance,love living here
I love this property. Maintenance is wonderful. However, my front room has been flooded twice already. Even though, I would still highly recommend Stone Mill Village
It's been fine except for when it rains. Very bad flooding issues back here and the gutters need to be repaired so bad. Draining issues also with the water.
I have lived at Stonemill Village going on three years now. My apartment is not upgraded, but the staff did as many upgrades as they could aside from a complete kitchen and bath remodel in order to make my apartment more pleasing and modern. I have a very spacious one bedroom unit with a nice balcony and storage area. I feel very comfortable and safe living at Stonemill Village. The staff is like a big family and treats the residents as such. The complex is conveniently located near major shopping and grocery stores, and the property affords amenities such as a playground, dog park, pool and small workout room. My rent is reasonable and competitive with the highly sought out East End area, and I will probably renew my lease for a fourth year or until I'm in a position to buy a home provided the rent stays fairly stable.
This is a great place to live, quiet, great landscaping, good service if a problem with anything, love the dog pen area, fun activities with other residents, like the laundry facility, the covered parking, and the people who work there are very helpful.
Pretty chill. Most neighbors keep to themselves but if you engage people they're pretty friendly.
Its been nice. No extreme issues. I would say inside was cheaply renovated. The blinds are so fragile if you touch them they snap off (and then we get charged $60 for new blinds), the way the bathtub is set up water gets in a crease and makes a ring of black mold around it. The cabinets are similar. Under my sink has been leaking since we got here(they used masking tape to fix it, which didnt obviously). The stairs outside are all rusty and a little dangerous for my two year old. Also the outside is nice but when you get to the apartments outside its dirty. I usually spend 30 minutes once a week sweeping our stairs and concrete because theyre covered in spiderwebs. Where my dishwasher is the wood is so rotted it falls off everytime I open my dishwasher. We keep having bug problems (we are VERY clean people) maintance came and sprayed raid and left (which I had already done, I ended up buying expensive traps that worked for a few months but back to the same problem). And lastly the office applied someone elses checks to mt account. Its not a horrible experience but its okay for the area.
Been great no complaints

They seem like good apartments with covered parking, indoor pool, tanning bed, gym and outside pool (well, the gym is super crammed, if there is 2 people at the same time it feels like the other is in your bubble). However, it's good when all is good. When all isn't good, that is if the situation arises when you ask them to work with you due to some life changing situations, the customer service is poor. To me, that's one of the most important things, but even when the corporate is suppose to call back in 2 business days, expect to wait 12 and still not hear from them. So, if you don't care about the quality of customer service and train horn (by the way, it horns day and nigh, but if you don't live too close to tracks you may get used to it) then maybe this would be a good choice.

The apartment complex is large, sprawling two story apartments ranging from 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. The rent is high but the beauty and safety of the complex is worth the rent. The complex is alive with all sorts of blooming plants from spring and trees that give us the beautiful fall colors. Birds of all kinds visit our feeders in the winter and the squirrels and chipmunks scurry around looking for food. I have a comfortable three room apartment which is comfy and easy to keep clean. If something goes wrong an order to have it fixed is answered promptly during the week and emergencies on the weekend. The complex is safe and well patrolled for trouble during the night. I feel safe in the large, over-populated city of Louisville.
This is a great place to live. Minutes from Downtown, Movies, Clubs, Restaurants, Parks. Just minutes from my job. Pet friendly with a dog park, outdoor and indoor swimming pools. Fitness Room. Washer and Dryer hook ups inside each apartment. Quiet surroundings, great staff. Can't ask for anything more. A Ramos Louisville, KY
Stonemill Village is a part of the MAA apartment family. This is something that has turned me off a bit. Apartments that are not privately and independently owned seem to me less caring. The local office cannot assist with much stating they have to report to corporate. When renewal time came, my rent was supposed to increase by $60 per month!! I couldn't believe it. I did negotiate with them to a $35/month raise instead of the $60. I was excited when the community decided to add a dog park on the premises and it was going to be very large. But then I found out they were also including a playground and BBQ area. When I asked about this, they said they were trying to appease everyone. Sounds good to me, except there is plenty of unused land to not cram all of that in one spot. And now, it appears all work for that has been postponed. My particular unit is right by the train tracks, so I highly recommend trying to avoid that because the horns go off at all hours. On the positive side, my apartment is a great size! Over 700 sq ft in a one bedroom. 2 closets in the bedroom. A nice sized bathroom. Also, there are laundry hookups in the apartments. This was the biggest selling feature for me. If you don't have a washer and dryer, they do offer the option to rent them monthly. Also, the grounds of the apartment are well maintained and landscaped beautifully. The maintenance guys are very nice. I haven't had much interaction with the staff, because I haven't needed much really, so I can only say that in my dealings they have been pleasant. There are 2 pools (indoor and outdoor), but apparently that wasn't as key for me as I initially thought when I moved here. Lots of storage space, with the 2 closets mentioned above, cabinets in the laundry closet, a coat closet, and a storage closet outside. Cons: In addition to some of my above annoyances: as with the way of many apartments, if you have pets you pay an additional pet rent per month. Just because other apartments are doing it doesn't mean I have to like it. This is my NUMBER ONE COMPLAINT with my apartment and any others running this "scam." Also, I feel the rent is too high in general. The kitchen is very crammed and doesn't have a lot of space for both food and dishes...and there is no where to put a trash can. All in all, I think anyone who wants to live here would be fine for a year or two, but not past that. I hope to not stay past this second year.
The apartment is around 10 mins drive to my work place which is Hurstbourne parkway. The setting for the apartment is great and fair price comparing nearby apartments. However, the fitness center is too small and the laundry room is not enough for the residents. The online maintenance and payment is convenient.
