St. Johns is a popular area that has many families settling in the area. A quiet community in the northeast area of the city, residents appreciate the relaxed pace of this locale and neighboring Coronado Hills. With many multigenerational families settling here, St. Johns hosts plenty of options for families and professionals alike.
Located just 20 minutes outside of Downtown Austin, St. Johns is surrounded by Highway 290, Highway 183, and I-35, making it perfect for commuters. There are plenty of chain restaurants that serve the area, but for a greater variety of offerings just cross the I-35 to Highland and indulge in the options along North Lamar Blvd.

Property Ratings at Mackenzie Pointe Apartments
First of all I would like to say that there are NO flying roaches here, what a treat to experience here in Austin Texas. Management never has any complaints about me and I never have any complaints about them, pool is working 99% of the time and open all year, floor plans are spacious but simple keeping costs affordable, grounds are basic but clean, keeping it affordable, the pool and hot tub are luxury, making it awesome Big windows and lots of light, neighbors are normal and they don’t put random rude letters on your door unless you forget to pay rent.
We recently rented apartment for my granddaughter who is going to school in Austin. We have had such a wonderful experience with the office staff. Margaret is so helpful and I called her to let her know the toilet was not flushing. The maintenance staff was there right away and fixed the toilet. We live 5 hours away and I can honestly say that the staff goes out of their way to help you. My son went to school and lived at these apartments years back. He had only good things to say. Thank you Margaret for all your help.
Very bad experience, don't trust the staff on what they say. Get everything written on the document. I was told that an apartment is available and as soon I completed the leasing document in 40- 45 minutes with successful payment, the apartment is leased out. They just make excuses and never understand the pain of the customer. the staff is just trying to exploit the surge in demand, Hence be careful.

My husband and I moved into the apartments going on 5 years ago, and we LOVE them!! Where do I start? The management is top notch with the manager, Margaret, being a wonderful, caring person. The other staff in the office are friendly and care about the residents that live here. Now to maintenance! I can only say WOW! The lead maintenance person , Daniel, is friendly, knows how to fix almost everything, and always willing to listen when I have a problem. I cannot say enough good things about how the maintenance staff keep this apartment looking fantastic. Yes,these are older apartments, but the location is great, and the rent is pretty decent. This is one of the best apartment complexes I have ever lived in when thinking about the staff and the care they put into this place. I love it!!!

The entire staff here at MacKenzie Pointe would like to thank you for the great review. This shows us that all our hard work does not go unnoticed!
My husband and I moved to Mackenzie Pointe as college freshman and we were lucky that we chose them because for 16 years they have been nothing short of amazing, attentive, helpful, friendly people in a fun community (the pools and pool parties will be missed!). We lived in 4 different apartments there as we upgraded jobs and eventually added a little one to our family, and each apartment had ample space (ridiculously fantastic closets) and any maintenance calls were answered quickly. We stayed so long because we were treated like people instead of an income source, and we were valued. We only left because we purchased a house, but we still plan to visit frequently!
Pests are very prominent here. Cockroaches and millipedes run rampant. Pest control doesn't know how to do their jobs because pests keep coming back. On top of that we have to pay for their terrible job. There's construction ALL the time, specifically very early in the mornings. Cars get broken into frequently (happened to my roommate). The structure of the apartment is awkward because the floors are sloped and uneven. Walls progressively crack as well. There's huge issues that occur periodically, like pipes bursting. The only redeeming quality of this place is the low rent. It's the only thing that makes me sign the lease every year. I already exhausted my chances with this place and thankfully this is my last year here.

We are so sorry to hear that you are having a problem that we have been unable to rectify for you. We would like to encourage you to come by the leasing office so we can address your concerns specifically and let you know what efforts we can take to rectify any issues you have. We do want all of the residents at MacKenzie Pointe to love their home.
I have lived here for almost 2 years and it's truly a great complex. The staff is always available and luckily I have not encountered any issues regarding maintenance. The pool area is second to none, we are always relaxing and bbq'ing it up on the weekends.
