Property Ratings at Macro at Echo Park
Don’t be fooled and fall into the trap of this place. The review on here from ‘ASH’ is fake and probably from management themselves. I’ve lived here since March of 2021, and everything was great up until mid February of 2022 when the building was sold and a new management company (REMM Group) took over. REMM has been the absolute worst at managing this building - from responding to simple questions or maintenance requests, keeping the building clean, repairing things, etc. Prior to the new management company, the building was deep cleaned on a regular basis and management would respond fairly quick. Now, you can expect days to hear back from Rick (the manager for this property). The only way he’ll respond quickly is if you email him and copy his boss Valerie. There’s also dog waste and pee everywhere, and the elevator, lobby, and hallways stay dirty. When I mentioned this to Rick, he told me I could move out if I’m not happy with the way things are running here. I wish I would have. Oh, and the elevator permit has been expired since October 2021. Not sure when they plan on renewing or getting it inspected, but the elevator broke down the other day so it's probably due for an inspection. I wouldn’t recommend this building to anyone, as it's not as enjoyable anymore, and the only reason I renewed my lease was because the timing of things and being able to fit in a move. Look elsewhere - there’s plenty of deals and better places to live!
The building location is perfect; it's right off the 101 and close to Echo Park and a few other surrounding parks. There's a few Farmers Market's close by, as well as restaurants, which is a plus. Love my unit it's pretty unique with great natural lighting. All in all, this is a great location and place to live with Management always getting back promptly.
Toured a few units here and absolutely love the building. Rick has been super helpful in getting everything situated for me and I hope to be able to move in ASAP
Positives + Location + Price + Exterior sound isolation is decent considering it's next to a busy highway + Building has an electronic storage locker for delivered packages Negatives - Interior sound deadening is horrendous. Upstairs, next door, etc… you can hear your neighbors breathing - Cheap appliances and finishes. Bottom of the barrel. - Washer/dryer beeps incessantly when finished and there's no way to turn it off - Sometimes upper management (I'm guessing???) enters your apartment with ZERO notice and expect you to just be okay with it Overall it's just okay...if you want to live in silence and appreciate privacy, look elsewhere. If you want semi-noisy, affordable, and decent amenities, welcome home.
