Beloved for its proximity to both the Jersey Shore and New York City, the central region of Middlesex County sits about 40 miles southwest of Midtown Manhattan. Nearby New Brunswick, home to Rutgers University, provides access to a rich, local arts and culture hub. This neighborhood is ideal for those seeking a quiet, suburban setting not far removed from nearby entertainment and amenities. Mid- and low-rise apartment communities in the northern section of the neighborhood give way to more single-family homes fit for a variety of renters. Interstate 95 and a host of other thoroughfares make commuting around the area a breeze.

Property Ratings at Madison Gardens
They ask you questions before you submit an application. If your answer disqualifies you, they will still have you pay the fee and fill out an application. Very rude if you get the agent on the phone. They won't even show you an apartment unless you "pass" the application process. Stay away!
I called to ask if I can see if they had a one bedroom unit coming available at the end of next month. They told me they do. I asked if I can schedule a time to come see it either today or tomorrow and they told me that they don't show apartments unless you apply and get approved. What if I don't like it? Why would I waste my money?
Madison Gardens is a great place to live! I love how beautiful the grounds are kept and love my new apartment. Everyone in the office was very helpful. The application process went smoothly from start to finish. Luz is fabulous and is incredibly helpful through the whole process. So far so good!!
This is the most rude customer service I've ever had. They often lie to me, hang up phone calls, blatantly rude to me. I've literally never had this issue. Would not recommend.
When I finally got them on the phone they hung up on me. I could only imagine trying to get in touch with them if I lived there. Not worth my time and money!
Lived here for a year and had no major problems. The property beautiful and well kept, snow removal is amazing and apartments are spacious and quiet. Only downsides is that parking tends to fluctuate alot but I would love live here again if I need an apartment. Everything you need is less than 15mins away (walmart,Home Depot,Aldi's,marshalls panarea just to name a few ) its a hidden gem
My now teens and I have lived here since 2011 with no major issues or minor ones easily resolved. I have to say, 2+ feet of snow was a challenge this week and all through the storm plus days later the staff is doing a beyond excellent cleanup job! Thank you.
When you call the number, they don't say their names, just MADISON. You ask if they have any available apartments they say Not till august then HANG UP ON YOU....? it says on their websites and on here that they have available apartments. Maybe they need to update their information, and maybe they could be a little nicer. I highly doubt their call volume is that high.
Not recommended for people with color. I visited this place yesterday and I wasn’t welcome there. When I was asking question regarding the property they Lady at the front desk told me I need a credit scores of 700 to rent a one bedroom apartment and have have to make $40000 a year when we are trying to ask more questions she’s said nothing is available for now.
Leasing Office staff is Amazing I love the modules, the area. AND THE STAFF IS AMAZING. WELCOMING AND TRUTHFUL. Thank you so much for helping my family find a home Madison Garden.
The apartments themselves are decent. The area is very quiet and cozy. Unfortunately the office staff are extremely rude and unwelcoming. Back when I first inquired about renting the apartment the woman who answered the phone was rude and rushing me to get off the phone, and half my questions went unanswered. Then when my fiancé and I went into the office to sign paperwork from application to signing the lease the ladies in the office were cold and uninviting. After living in the apartment for a few months we had a few maintenance issues that needed attention (dishwasher broke, faucet was leaking, etc.) and the maintenance did respond in a timely manner but all the jobs were patchwork and nothing was actually fixed. Fast forward to when we buy a house and have to break the lease - not only do they keep your security deposit but WILL charge you two months rent PLUS the security deposit. In addition to the thousands of dollars you have to spend just to leave, they also do a "walk through" of your apartment after you've moved out and will charge you ADDITIONAL money if it's not painted or extensively cleaned. They give you a list of what is expected to be done and charges next to them if they are not completed. For the short couple years we lived there we paid rent in a timely manner, never had any disturbances, never caused an issue, and kept the apartment in a good living condition. In return we get nothing but headaches, a bad attitude, and an empty wallet. I would not recommend this apartment complex.
This is one of the most restrictive concentration camps around. Put up an American Flag...forget it TAKE IT DOWN !! Want flowers outside on your porch ...forget it TAKE THEM DOWN. Want to put a fan in your window to cool you off...forget it NOT ALLOWED. They don't even let kids play here. You can't decorate for the holidays, parking is a nightmare, repairs are done with scotch tape and spit. I could fill a page. Do yourself a favor. If you don't like bullying oppressive overlords...stay away. You will get the dreaded mail plus hand delivered mail plus the certified mail warning you your car will be towed because you parked 6 inches into a yellow painted box. I kid you not and NOT making that up.
Moved in a few months ago. Zero complaints. Amazing especially for the price, can't beat it . Yes you can hear foot steps upstairs .. But it's just like being on the first floor of a house hearing someone upstairs .. No big deal. And if it really bothers you maintaince can just put extra nails in the upstairs neighbors floor to help. The Main office and maintenance are always willing to help however they can. Quiet neighborhood, everyone minds thier own business. Parking is better the father away from 9 you are but that's obvious when you drive through and they give u options on which apartment you want so you can choose your location. And I see complaints about the deposit which I don't know about but let's be real.. You're getting a great price per month and all the utilities are included besides electric(we run the Ac 24/7 and its 40$) so who cares ! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a good price for the quality. Any other apt complex in the area for the same price range can't even compare.
Think twice before move in. The owner is nice when you move in but then is getting worse and worse. Forget about your deposit when you move out. Very arrogant old lady. They will charge you for every hole in the wall and every tiny scratch on the floor. Also, during the snow you won't see much salt on the sidewalks. Be very careful when you decide to sign the lease.
I currently leave here and I can tell you all the negative reviews are completely correct. Live somewhere else if you can. The walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors pass gas. If a neighbor leaves the building, the door closing will sound like a slam and your apartment will shake. If your neighbor has a sound system for their tv then your walls will shake. I have to wear headsets to hear my own tv sometimes. My wife describes the muffled bass sound as like being in the bathroom of a club. The office staff are very rude and lazy. They will nickel and dime you when it comes to security deposit. You will never get most of it back. The parking is scarce. I'm convinced people that don't live here are parking their cars in the available spots.
I have never been so miserable in where I live. Management is beyond rude and doesn't care. My apartment was infested with ants and they were rude when I called and didn't help. I've always paid my rent on time and never caused issues. The one time I was two weeks late due to issues with my account they harassed and threatened me through email. I cry at the thought of how much longer I have to be here!
this complex of garden apts. is always on top of making improvements. in the last five years or so they have put new roofs on all of the buildings, new sliders and windows, new balconies, and new railings. there are many shrubs and trees here which are kept trimmed and neat. they repave the streets and repair the curbs as needed. if you need a repair, it is done almost a few hours after you call. many of the main roads are easy access from this location as is the ease of getting to any kind of shopping and some main malls. it is a safe area for children and seniors.
We absolutely love our apartment here. The location is wonderful. We are walking distance to 7/11, a pizza place, a deli, Laundromat, and Ralph's Italian Ice! Perfect for getting to the parkway, rt. 9 or rt. 34 for the shore. The apartment itself is large and roomy with amble closet space. We have only had to call maintenance once for a leak under our sink and we have been here for 3 years. The parking spaces are very large which is plus!

If you don't want to spend a lot and don't need a pool and a washer/dryer in your unit then you should seriously consider Madison Gardens. It is wedged between Rte 9 North/Rte 34 and is less than five minutes from two different Parkway entrances (both North and South). They seem to do at least one major upgrade every year (new roof least year, paved the roads one year and did the sidewalks, new balconies another year, etc.). Every morning you can see men walking around the complex picking up any litter And making sure the dumpsters aren't overflowing. Really it is a great place to live location wise and it is kept clean. Good people in the complex as well. I've been here five years now and am currently looking to upgrade from my current 1-bedroom to a 2-bedroom.
