The office ladies here are awesome! I’ve been to several other places and have been so frustrated because either the staff was rude, or missed our appointment, or wouldn’t contact me back at all. It’s been such a headache! But the staff here were very responsive to me, very kind, and showed me around and answered all of my questions. I would be happy to rent here. The property was also nice and the apartment I saw was clean and odor free!!

Please don’t waste your time or your money here. Don’t be fooled by those pictures only a few of the apartments are actually “updated”, it’s a roach problem, maintenance will take months to fix and urgent problems but in my case a year!!! I was without a/c last summer couldn’t use it unless I wanted water pumping all over my floor, here we are in May of the next year and I still have no a/c. It took them over 4 months to come fix a water leak and probably would have taken longer if i didn’t start asking who was going to pay the $280 water bill for a 1 bedroom apartment. I currently have mold growing in my apartment due to my neighbors using their a/c and the pump was still broken…. PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU WANNA BE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERY ISSUE THATS GOING TO HAPPEN, BECAUSE THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS BECAUSE IT’S NOT AFFECTING THEM MAKING THEIR MONEY REGARDLESS !!!
If I could rate this apartment complex 0 stars I would and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to live here. One day the managers tell you something then when it’s time to sign and go over the final paper work they change everything up. When I first looked at the apartment it needed a lot of work done to it and then when it’s time to move in it looks exactly like the first time I looked at it. They are roach infested, holes are in the walls, they just paint the walls any kind of way , windows are cracked , walls are rotten and so much more . Please don’t waist your time and hard earned money because it’s not worth it. It’s not worth the money.

The staff was so helpful and kind to us. Today we drove by over the weekend they were closed but the Manager was there and opened up and ask us to return for a tour When I saw the manager there when they were closed and she was pressure washing the pool deck. We said this is where we want to live. A place that truly cares.

For starters, any problem that you have with your apartment will never get fixed. No matter how many times you go to the office and ask, no matter how many service orders you put in, nothing will ever get done. If something ever does get fixed, it takes FOREVER, regardless if it’s an emergency or not. Our apartment had a ceiling leak in the bedroom due to the apartment above us, it got fixed 3 1/2 days later because I flagged the maintenance man down after seeing him 5 apartments down from ours. Some of our outside window panes are cracked and were never fixed, so winter is brutal. Our apartment got all brand new linoleum like flooring, its all coming up in several spots. We have a huge hole in the wall behind our dryer hookup, it was never boarded up like it was promised back in July 2019. Our next door neighbors hot water heater leaked recently, and our entire living room flooded. Our neighbor called a different company to come clean up all the water, and they were nice enough to clean up all the water in our apartment as well. You hear gunshots here constantly. I’ve witnessed neighbors fighting in the parking lot at early hours in the morning. An abandoned car has been sitting in one of our parking spots since January 2020, it has never been moved or towed. The tenets above our apartment will dump trash over the stairs down to the porch of our apartment. We were never given a key to our mailbox, and as a result have had to open a P.O. box instead. The reasoning was that “there’s a dispute with the post office on who owns the mailboxes at this apartment complex.” Talked to the post office and they said they don’t have keys, that the apartment office has a key. Still have never received a key and our lease expires in a month. When we first moved in we were promised to have pest control come out and spray the apartment, it took them 2 months from the date they told us for them to finally come out. I understand this is Birmingham, but the cockroaches were excessive in summer months. Have had several visits to the office to ask about maintenance and nothing ever seems to get done. However they are diligent to remind you about any type of payment you may owe them. Overall, it has not been a wonderful place to live. We have spoken with our neighbor who has lived here for 3 years compared to our 1, and we all are moving out as soon as our leases expire.

First of all I want to say Douglas is AWESOME. He answered all of my questions and was very polite and patient with me, but every other person I spoke to was extremely rude! BUT when I went in for a tour unfortunately he was not there and there were 3 parties waiting for apartment showings and to ask questions with only 1 employee working. She said it was her 4th day on the job and she didn’t really know what she was doing. This was around the afternoon during their lunch break and I waited outside until the sign was flipped back to open and they had taken an hour and a half break instead of an hour which is RIDICULOUS. I asked to see a 1 bedroom and she said NONE of them were ready for showings. This was after Douglas had told me there were about 60 units available. I agreed to view a studio just to get an idea of how it would look. It was fine so I put in an application about two-three weeks ago and NO CALL OR E-MAIL. Nothing at all. I already ended up getting a different apartment with an amazing company that has been very polite and patient with me, but just the way that these people conduct business should tell you some things about what you will be dealing with if you move in here.

If I could give a 0 I definitely would. If this was the last place I’m earth to live, I still wouldn’t recommend it. The office staff needs a hard lesson on professionalism. Maintenance needs a hard lesson on how to fix/complete maintenance orders in a timely fashion. It’s always trashy outside. Not much crime but be careful of a few rounds being let off every now and then. The price will definitely draw you in but once you’re in, you’d wish you were out

Things continue to change and get better. I was planning on moving, but with all of the changes I will be staying. Kim and Donna have always been great! The new front office staff are warm, inviting and friendly. EVERYONE in the office is always so helpful and responsive. Now if maintenance would get a little faster the place would be near perfect!

Ms. Fran & Ms. Kim are great, however Donna is awful!! Her attitude is the nastiest I have ever come across, she thinks she is princess Diana when you ask her a question she is so rude you have to question yourself as to why you're even talking to her she is the worst manager you all have ever had on this premises. She does not take care of any complaints or call you back in regards to any that you have called about. You can be locked out of your apartment, and it takes her 3 to 4 months to call you back. But she does not hesitate to put late notices on your door, which explains it all. It's all about the money she does not care whether or not your apartment is up to par at all. For maintenance complaints have been completed.

Devonshire has the best staff! Those ladies go out and beyond to make sure every occupant is treated with well respect and also makes sure everyone is safe! It's not a easy job but I command those ladies!
