Property Ratings at Magnolia Place Apartments
I normally like to leave good reviews but I feel like people should know what they’re getting into. The building itself is old and rundown. I dealt with constant mold that had damaged clothes and other property, roaches, and my ceiling collapsing twice. Maintenance did all they could but they stay so busy with the other decrepit apartments. I know for a fact neighbors have complained about the same things and past reviews. The building itself needs to be torn down. It’s very unsafe for tenants and the fact they keep putting people in them knowing all the issues going on is just sad. Please look elsewhere for a little more money you can find something way nicer and actually feel safe in your home! Nobody should be taken advantage of.
Living here was definitely a great experience. Property Management was exceptional and maintenance came ASAP. The neighbors are nice and the apartment complex is in close proximity of a lot stores such as Walmart, Winn-Dixie, CVS, etc... If you need to contact Property Management right away, Elizabeth's the one to contact.
I had a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment on the 2nd floor. It was spacious and served my needs for the one year I lived there. The complex is quiet and smoke-free. There are security cameras everywhere and plenty of on-site parking. The laundry facility on-site is convenient.
I have lived at Magnolia Place for five years. Elizabeth does a good job choosing quality residents. The environment is low key. The location is great. The neighborhood is quiet. Maintenance is handled in a timely manner. The building's mural is awesome and improved curb appeal by 100%. Magnolia Place is a great choice for me.
I love the location, the neighbors are really nice, the complex is always very quiet, and you get what you pay for.. The complex has been through a lot of changes in the last year. From re painting the entire outside of the complex, to the murals on the walls, and refinishing the 9ft deep pool. We have lived here for a few years now, between a few units. Since they spend all their money on renovations for the outside of the complex, and not the inside. Each unit is different on the inside, from hand painted counter tops, yes hand painted, to Ikea Chop Block* counter tops. Elizabeth is the "property manager" here, out of the two years of being here we've NEVR met her in person. But she is wonderful and kind to you when you sign the lease, and once you sign the dotted line, you will never hear from her again. The only way that we've gotten to talk to her since we've moved in is Caller ID block, then she will answer. But if that doesn't work you can text her and expect a text back NEVER. A few concerns you need to consider is the units don't have washer and dryers in them, there's a laundry facility on the first floor. BUT WATCH OUT, the machines will take your money and you can just kiss it goodbye!! And the other concern is how old the AC units are, they will break on you, and since they used all their money on looks of the complex, you will NEVER get it fixed properly, they use a lot of "band aids" to fix things around the complex. Then you call the maintenance line and they submit the request for you, after the 100th time, and they still won't call you o ( the property manager, Elizabeth) for a friendly follow up.. so you use the Caller ID Block trick, and she will answer, and it will seem like you are an inconvenience to her. But I would have to say, AXEL he is the Maintenance Manager, he is the rock and foundation.. when people say "that guy needs a raise" well its true, Axel needs one!!! He will bend over backwards to make you happy and go above and beyond to make sure in all his power, to fix things in a timely manner. Without Axel that property would not survive!!!! So, if you need a low budget living complex this is it!
Property Manager at Magnolia Place Apartments, Responded To This Review
In response to your review and by the way I know who you are... lol. I didn't think it was necessary to meet you as long as you were provided with all services promised and since you have stayed for 2 years I would say that you weren't all too dissatisfied. I take calls and texts from all tenants. I have picked up the phone and responded to your text it seems you need a lot of hand holding. Perhaps a support team. When a tenant starts blowing up my phone like an unstable person, Yes! I don't answer and btw your number does not get blocked just your name so clearly I recognize your number. Your service call was answered immediately and your ac was fixed in a timely fashion. An automatic text is sent out to all tenants with a chance to complete a short survey of the work performed. We have never received one from you. Unless we know what the issue is, we can't rectify it. As you can see by the length of this person's review you can understand why anyone wouldn't want to take his calls.
The studio I lived in for close to a year was mostly great. The vinyl flooring was awesome, but it was an old unit with old appliances. The location in south Tampa was a huge plus. Friendly staff and maintenance.
I've lived in apartments all over Tampa, and this was my favorite spot. Nice, quiet neighborhood and exceptional property management.
The chronic leaking in these apartments is so bad that I have severe lung issues! The apartments flood on a regular basis and nothing gets done! It smells like mildew and is a health hazard!
The floorplans are decent and spacious, and I liked the place because it was quiet and no riff-raff. It's centrally-located, with everything you might need within a 15 min drive. Lots of places close by for walking a dog if you have one, and I walked the neighborhood at night and never had an issue with safety. I also enjoyed having the pool 5 steps from my door!!
Whether you will like living here or not is basically a problem of personal preferences. We'll try to give you a general idea. We live in a two bedroom apartment and have been living here for almost two years. The apartment is spacious, fair sound proofing because the building is concrete and not wood, neighbors are nice and the place is fairly clean and quiet (which is what we looked for). - it is walking distance (10 min) from WinnDixie, CVS, Walmart, churches, dentist offices, convenience stores and, starting November 2015, from Publix. - The bus stop for bus 19, that goes to downtown Tampa is in front of the building. - You will always find a parking place for yourself and for your visitors. - being in South Tampa, you live in a good, safe neighborhood. - the place has a pool and laundry room. - We bike to Bayshore Blvd, Gadsden Park, Ballast Point, which are great places to relax
The perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Beautiful courtyard apartments with stunning pool views.
This place is in a great area, its very quiet for Tampa even on a weekend. Great pool area as well. The only thing is that the roof has had problems for a while they are just now fixing the entire roof. Our apartments have been leaking since we moved in but they have not been able to fix the leak so we are moving. If that leak was fixed I would love living here.
Property Manager at Magnolia Place Apartments, Responded To This Review
Yes, your unit was leaking at one point and we offered you another unit comparable to the one you were renting while we repaired it. If I recall correctly the leak must not have been that significant when you chose to stay there for the next 4 months. You chose to leave when we stopped offering you a concession after seeing that the apartment was repaired. Every time we went to check on this leak it was not there.
