East Shore is a suburban stretch of Harrisburg that starts immediately east of downtown. Coupled with Central Harrisburg, this swath of suburban Pennsylvania is a fast-growing section of the city. There are several suburban neighborhoods and villages that comprise East Shore/Central, and each of them provides just a little more space and peace and quiet than Downtown Harrisburg. The area is bisected by Interstate 81, making commutes into the city or any of the other neighboring communities easy.
There are many rentals options, as well as attractions and conveniences in the East Shore/Central area. Linglestown Road holds many residential areas and dining and shopping options. Colonial Park Mall is home to grocers and big-box stores as well. A commute into Downtown Harrisburg can range from 10 to 20 minutes depending on where you are, but the nearby highways make exploring the area a breeze.

Property Ratings at Magnolia Terrace Apts
I lived here for a year before moving out of state for a job. I loved living here. Magnolia Terrace was a gem tucked away in Harrisburg. The apartment was spacious and well kept. I loved sitting on my balcony in the mornings and seeing the mountain views. The neighbors were all very friendly and I never had any issues with noise. Some of the kitchen appliances could be updated, but other than that everything was great. Maintenance was always prompt and helpful. The location is close to the highway and grocery store. Diane, the property manager was wonderful. I definitely miss living here.
This place was a gem. The property manager was excellent and was so helpful with everything. It’s a quiet place and the apartments are well maintained. I like that it was a smaller apartment complex. Would move back if I had a better opportunity for work but I moved to Philadelphia.
Magnolia Terrace is a beautiful, quiet and well maintained community. Very soon I will be a resident of this awesome neighborhood and I could not be more pleased. My PRE-move in experience has truly been one of a kind. Diane, the Property Manager, is the "heart-beat" of Magnolia Terrace. She is kind, considerate, compassionate, supportive, knowledgeable, professional and always ready to address your needs, individually, and the needs of the Community, collectively. Any concerns or apprehension that I may have felt initially, faded away very quickly, when I met Diane and toured the beautiful, spacious and well maintained apartments. I could not be happier with my choice of Magnolia Terrace and with the manner in which my PRE-move in experience has been handled. I look forward to being a long-time resident of this wonderful, quiet and beautiful Community. Thank you Diane for all that you do! Vicki
Living at Magnolia Terrace for the past two years has been such a breeze. Diane and the maintenance staff are always available in a pinch, but you'll likely never need to call them because everything is so well-maintained at these apartments. My roommate and I have lived her for two years and are only leaving in the fall due to graduating from school and moving on to full-time jobs in other parts of the country. We both LOVE our apartment. It is so spacious, beautiful, and cost-efficient. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Magnolia Terrace and I know my neighbors would agree. It is a wonderful place to live and a very friendly community, as well!
I moved into Magnolia in February of 2016 with my sister. We ended up choosing Magnolia, after searching for the best rates, location and comfort. It also helped that there were walk in closets in each bedroom. After a little over a year, we had to move out due to work and a family issues. I moved in with a friend temporarily, but after being spoiled by Diane( the property manager) and the actual neighborhood, when it came time to move to in with my significant other, all the arrows pointed us back to Magnolia Terrace. I reached out to Diane for a recommendation, because we were thinking about going with another apartment complex. And she was willing to not only help me out with that, but also informed me I was more than welcomed to come back and she had a place for us there. I could go on and on about Diane she literally is a "godsend" to the community. Everyone there is happy, and friendly and that is because of the work that she puts in. Im excited to be moving back, and I know that it is the right decision for us in this moment. Thank you again Diane -Tanesha
Although we only lived on the property for just a year, it was an amazing experience. The apartments are extremely well-kept and the staff is highly responsive to any maintenance or questions that you may have. There are so many amenities that come with the apartments including a pool, gym, and great central location to shopping and highways. Simply put, if you're looking for the best apartments in the Harrisburg area, look no further!
I have never, ever been so thrilled to be a renter! It has been the hardest decision ever to make the move to purchase a home and move out of Magnolia Terrace because it is a joy to live there! There are at least three reasons why you should look no further than Magnolia Terrace: 1. The Apartment - My wife and I LOVE our apartment! Unlike anywhere else, you have these beautifully wide corridors and so much natural light flooding in. The finishes are superior: granite tops in the kitchen, laminate floors (instead of carpets in the living areas), dimmable lights, stainless steel appliances, paint that doesn't scuff, and storage and more storage... and more storage! Yay for storage! We never knew, when we signed up, what a benefit it would be to have an energy efficient home - boy, do we save on our electric bill!!! The home stays cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter, with hardly a need for the central air to kick in. Also, water and trash is covered by your rent - another great saving! My wife loves the bath and I love the shower - she has a good sized bath tub and I have a shower I could sit in if I wanted to!!! The carpets in the bedrooms are soft under foot and the second bedroom is something special - a Jack and Jill setup. When we've had overnight guests, we just lock the front entrance to the bathroom, and the guests use the side entrance available to them through the bedroom - they love it and it makes them feel like they have their own en suite! 2. The Facilities There is not another place in Harrisburg that you will find that takes as good care of the facilities as Magnolia Terrace. They resurfaced the parking spaces while I lived there and it looked beautiful! The gardens were always kept in magnificent shape and the snow had hardly fallen when it was cleared away. The trash dumpster never overflows and the clubhouse and pool are added treats. It's lovely to walk around the area with your dog or family in the Summer time. 3. The Attention to Detail and Care Diane is simply the best property manager I have ever worked with! She knows everyone by name and is super friendly. Diane is on top of everything and if you email with a repair request, you can bet your bottom dollar it will feel like you are her top priority. We had a little dishwasher issue and two days later... we had a new dishwasher - no questions asked!
My wife and I lived in Magnolia Terrace for two years and we have 0 complaints. The apartments are spacious with a modern layout and balconies/porches on each side. The location is great (1 mile from I-81 and a few miles to the city) and the property is always clean and well kempt. The clubhouse has a gym, pool and common area to host events. All of our maintenance requests were resolved in 2 days or less (maintenance requests were very rare). The Property Manager lives on site and she is extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend these apartments to anyone.
We lived there for over 2 years and recently moved out because of my wife's new job out of town. It is the kind of place anybody want to live. Small yet super community. Very quiet, clean, great landscape, overlooking mountains, more importantly best management and awesome community. Never had any issues with neighbors or management. Walls are super strong and we barely heard any sounds from neighbors. Floor plans are very convenient for a minimal family. Wooden floors, upgraded amenities, high ceilings, large windows for natural light, designated paring spots makes it a perfect home. Property Manager is very helpful, communicates great and maintains the property as a pro. We barely had any maintenance issues. If we continued to stay in town, we would definitely be here. If home is what makes you feel safe and cozy, then Magnolia Terrace is your home.
My family and I found Magnolia Terrace to be everything and more... then what we could have wished for. There are so many great things about this place it’s hard to mention everything. A few worth mentioning were the spacious parking spots, the appliances are practically new, high ceilings, enjoyed the open living room which almost made it feel too big (definitely not a complaint), painted walls (none of that boring white) and the convenience to just about anything. Also, whenever snow does decide to come and STAY, the Magnolia Community was always on top of clearing the roads and sidewalks. As a military family that moves around quite a bit, I will always recommend Magnolia Terrace to anyone moving to the Capital Area.
I'd give them 10 stars if I could. I can't imagine finding a better living space. The neighborhood is right sized: small but it never feels cluttered, there's ample room for cars and backyards. I've never felt crowded here. The apartments have high ceilings, walls that are actually painted (neutral, but NOT eggshell white), quality flooring, cabinetry and countertops, and spacious living areas. I searched and searched for apartments suitable for me and my kids and knew I found home when I found Magnolia Terrace. Management is highly accommodating - when I need anything at all, it's done quickly and without great inconvenience. The neighbors and neighborhood is really friendly too - people who aren't afraid to say hello and lend a hand! I can't speak highly enough of my experience here. Talk to Diane when you call for a tour - an MT resident as well, she's a wealth of knowledge and she understands the unique features and needs in apartment living!
My time at the Magnolia Terrace Apartments were very good. I lived there for three years. The neighborhood is excellent for walking dogs, walking, or running. The neighbors are very friendly and are willing to help each other like a true neighbors should. The shopping areas are close, about 10 minutes driving, except for the Giant Grocery Store, which is super nice and very close, about 5 minutes. The apartments are also very nice. The gym and pool areas are great and they provide plenty of parking areas. Magnolia Terrace Apartments are located in the Susquehanna school district, which is one of the best districts in the Harrisburg. The apartments are very spacious. They provide washer and dryer and have a open kitchen, dining, and living room concept. If I had any maintenance issues, just an email or call and they responded very quickly. Finally, the best part of living at Magnolia Terrace apartments was the management. The apartment manager, Diane, is the absolute best! She is very friendly and is willing to work with you. If I had any issues, Diane was quick to fix those issues and give me updates. Magnolia Terrace Apartments is a no brainer. If you are going to be living in apartments, Magnolia Terrace is the place. Magnolia Terrace is the standard on apartment living, hands down. The Best!!!
We've been living at Magnolia Terrace for 3 years and we love it here! The apartments are spacious and well-designed with front and back decks, washer/dryer in unit, nice open kitchen, and good size bedrooms. The complex is well maintained, and there's a clubhouse with a gym and pool. The manager, Diane, is very responsive and accommodating, and any issues are taken care of right away. We also love being close to the best Giant in the area, as well as a Costco and other major retailers.
I lived at Magnolia Terrace for five years. If I hadn't moved out of the area, I would have continued to enjoy living in this awesome community. My apartment was open, airy and spacious with many dramatic design elements not found in many apartments like laminate flooring, stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, color painted walls, ceiling fan, and back and front balconies. Each unit has assigned, reserved parking. It felt more like a condo home than an apartment. The community center is welcoming and comfortable and has a fitness center and pool. The neighborhood is safe for walking or biking, and close to major arteries and shopping centers. The property manager is stellar--extremely friendly, accessible, and responsive to resident needs and requests. Maintenance requests are easy to make and are taken care of promptly and competently. Neighbors are friendly and helpful. I will never forget how the residents pulled together to dig everyone out of last year's massive snow storm. I loved living here and you will too.
I've lived here for over a year and I absolutely love the apartment. The kitchen, living room, and bed rooms are very good sized and the appliances look new. The amenities are great; the washer/dryer is in the apartment and there is a front and back balcony. There is also a fitness center and a large pool that is accessible in the summer! Neighbors are very friendly and the landlord has always been extremely helpful with making my roommate and I feel comfortable. If you want a spacious and modern apartment for a lower cost, I highly recommend living here.
We have lived at Magnolia Terrace for 7 years and love it. It's a very well kept and maintained complex. The management is awesome. It's a great location.
