Because Sherwood Forest sits within the larger neighborhood of Broadmoor, the area is often referred to together. Sherwood Forest is located between Florida Boulevard and I-12 on the southeast side of Downtown Baton Rouge. This neighborhood extends roughly from Sharp Road east to Flannery Road. It is a very close-knit residential neighborhood complete with a Citizen's Association that organizes community events, including cleanup days and neighborhood garage sales.
Defined by large trees, expansive lawns, and wide sidewalks, Sherwood Forest feels very much like a suburban community. But residents can easily reach downtown in less than 15 minutes, and Louisiana State University is just eight miles from the neighborhood. The North Sherwood Forest Community Park provides residents with 13 acres of green space and includes a walking track, a playground, picnic areas, and a fitness center.

Property Ratings at Magnolia Trace
I saw the reviews before I decided to rent. I ignored it and here I really regret for taking a one year lease. One of managers showed me a two bed flat house. I liked it and agreed to lease it. On the day she told me there are no such apartments any more. Then I asked her for townhouse. Luckily, she told me there was one. I decided to take it. When I moved in, there wasn't an AC unit installed outside, hot water shower nob wasn't working, and light bulb was out. It took them more than two weeks to fix those issues. The AC issue still not fixed after two attempts. I decided to buy my own. The switches and outlets, most have problems. So sad to come to this place.
I thought it was the perfect place when I started looking for an apartment for me and my child, decent price, decent apartment.. I was very wrong. The complex manager did not do a walk through with me, instead gave me a paper to do myself after moving in. The dishwasher had sewer backed up in it and when I notified the office about it and how it was health risk and of the smell was horrific, it look them 3 weeks to fix it. Took them 3 months to fix a light fixture that was hanging by wires. The bath tub was painted and the paint started to chip, and come off making it to where it was difficult to bathe a child, when notified of the problem once again took them weeks to come fix. Then when they did fix all they did was repaint over it, so a few months later here I am with once again paint coming off my tub and forcing a little child to basically shower instead of taking a bath. Every time I try to get in touch with manger she is not there!! The apartment is a hazard and It’s not just mine. So be careful before you waste your time or money on this place!! **currently looking to get out of here ASAP**
As a Resident of 4yrs at Magnoila Trace, I can say that I'm dissatisfied of the way they treat their tendants. I haven't had no a/c(cool air ) for 3 days. 3/25/18 to 3/27/18. The office/ management refuses to contact me back or even fix the problem . It's more than the a/c . It's numerous of things that they fail to fix. Electrical plugs was out for at least 5months. I had to use a instention cord to plug in any appliance that I need to use to a socket that was working. On top of it all had water leaks from the ceiling . After they fix the water leaks holes are still in the ceiling and the spray painted the living room ceiling to cover the patch they fixed !!!!
this is an okay place to live. area isn't safe but its cheap and some where to live
I've lived here for a couple of months now. I've lived here when I was younger in high school with my parents and nothing has changed. There is no place like home
