My roommate and I have lived here for the past 5 months, and it has been nothing short of exceptional! We had been living at another apartment complex in the area for the past two years and had a less than ideal experience. Because of that when we started apartment hunting, we were weary & came with a laundry list of questions! Throughout the move-in and decision-making process the staff made it easy for us! Katie, Kaitlyn, and Tyler all made sure we comfortable and every single one of questions were answered. I think they showed me and my roommate around the property & different room layouts about 4 times! Bless their hearts! Since then, our time at Main and Clay has only continued to be fabulous. The team up front, as well as the maintenance team come to work with a smile on their face and are ready to help! I do not have enough good things to say! We feel safe here, the common areas are kept clean, and both the residents and the staff are wonderful! Main and Clay is the best place to live in Louisville!

We moved from overseas and didn't know the first thing about the area. Living here was an amazing way to immerse ourselves into the rich culture and history of Louisville; the apartment is on the famed whiskey row, and has walking opportunity to everything you could want. When compared to the other properties, this one stood out for amenities and cost comparison.

Very responsive and prompt staff. I love the high ceilings in my place and the space. This is my first bachelor pad as a young divorced professional, the place is great for entertaining company and the view is phenomenal. I cant wait to enjoy my balcony when the weather warms up. I love the controlled access to the building and the garage to protect my car from the elements and theft.

I have absolutely loved my time at Main and Clay! One thing I love about it is how close it is to downtown, yet the property stays very quiet. The leasing staff goes above and beyond to make sure residents are comfortable and have the resources needed. I have absolutely loved my time here!

This is a great place to live if you are looking for something close to downtown yet not right in the heart of it. The walkability is really the seller of this property!

Main and clay is a wonderful community to live in. I believe better communication on amenities and additional changes should be outlines on the website. I might’ve passed on the opportunity to live here if I knew I would be charged for parking at my own apartment, but I do not have any other issues with the community.

I like the apartment I am living in because I feel safe and secure and I feel as if there is good community but I feel like I can get there somewhere else as well without things breaking all the time and without all the extra charges.

Main and Clay has been a great apartment to live at. It's close to a lot of great restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. Also, it's relatively quiet.

It’s a grey star owned property but sadly grey star doesn’t care about its residents the property is dirty and every week we deal with different issues like broken amenities or simple things like broken elevators that puts a burden on the residents

We appreciate all reviews, both good and bad, but I hate to hear of your experience here at M&C has been a negative one. I can assure you that we take pride in what we do and have a cleaning service out on site three days every week, along with a wonderful staff who is more than willing to pick up/vacuum/wipe down when necessary. All amenities should be in working order, and we even got new grills installed on our clubroom patio. If you have any issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office. I understand there has been some turnaround over the last year, but we have a great team and want nothing more than for you to love your home! -The Main & Clay Staff
The property is fairly nice. However, none of the promised amenities work and the property is not maintained well. (Grills do not work properly, fire pit is non-functional, and pool is almost closed every week (most recently by the Louisville Health Department). In speaking to Health Department employee, I was informed that they failed to properly maintain pool only having pool contractor come out once a week. However, due to the nature of the pool (water features, shelving/stairs etc...) it requires maintenance on a day to day basis. Further, when I politely inquired what the staff's plan of action was, I was treated rudely by a person from the management team. She got an angry look on her face, crossed her arms and was very unapologetic and seemed very annoyed that a resident was checking on it--mind you, the pool has been closed countless times throughout the summer. It just seems like they cut services during the pandemic and have not reinstituted them.

If Louisville was a car dealership, then Main & Clay Apartments would be the Tesla section. Very clean, amazing amenities, very professional staff, and kind neighbors. 10/10 best place to live in the city.

Its been good here for most of three years but its going downhill.
I moved from out-of-state. I did not get a chance to do an in-person tour, so the leasing staff made sure to send me a complimentary video tour of certain units that I was interested in! They always answered when I called and were able to provide me with so much information (prior to the move). The apartment was everything shown in the videos, no fake touring units. I saw exactly what I was getting. I have been here two weeks and already I have had phenomenal response from the maintenance and the leasing office about everything. I highly recommend this community! I feel very safe and it is in a diverse/inclusive area of town.
Management doesnt respond to emails promptly. And if they do, its very hostile and accusatory in tone. Management often blames residents for the cleanliness problems when maintenance chooses to overlook obviously filthy facilities
The walls are thin, and you will hear the people talking next to you, and you will hear people walking above you. Valet trash is a monthly fee that is not optional, but they take two days off every week. The pet fee, is outrageous. One kitten cost me $400. The same price they charge for a dog of any size. Management will not always respond to you when you reach out to them with a concern. For example, I complained about the noise that I just mentioned, they emailed me back saying its Probably coming from the gym. Instead of actually investigating it. Then as I continue to tell them that the noise is coming from above my head, twice they ignored my emails. Meaning they literally did not respond to me. Even after I complained on one of their surveys that they ignore my emails, they ignored me again. They say that that the residents are really their first priority, but I dont feel that way.
I was SO excited when I moved in last year, but now I feel like live in an overpriced shoebox with no amenities. Pool is closed. When it is open, it's only available to 10 residents who never leave, so my plans to have my friends over went out the window.. No hot tub. Coffee machine constantly broken. Pool table missing balls and pool sticks. Fire pits always out of propane. TVs remotes in club level don't work. Hallway carpets filthy; there was dog poop smeared on the carpet and wall for over 3 days. Residents allow their agresive "service dogs" off leash in the community to pay ball. The off leash golden retriever "service dog" next door attacked my leashed dog in the hall and it's owner in the wheelchair couldnt stop it, yet they still allow their dog off leash. His dog pees in hallway. Trash cans in garage always overflowing. Forced to pay for valet trash, but its only available 5 nights a week. People put their trash out in the halls on Fridays so it sticks up the community until it's collected on Sundays. Boxes left in hall for days as well. I asked for an extra key to my apt so my neighbor could water my plants while I was away and they wanted to charge me $50... talk about being nickel and dimed.. Car was stolen from garage, but I didn't hear about it from M&C, I heard about it on the news. Brandon at the front desk is incredibly rude and unprofessional. Dog run smells and no one picks up their dog's poop. Mgmt doesn't respond to emails. I referred friends (which was a mistake) and I didn't get anything for it as advertised. I don't want to move again, but I'm not getting what I'm paying for, and I don't like living here.

The walls are thin and you dont get taken seriously by the staff. I complained several times by sending several emails when I was hearing this banging above my head. I told them that it was almost daily and to please speak to the residents. I was completely ignored. They literally never responded to my emails. But when I had questions about my rent, they responded to those emails. Other than that, great location and beautiful apartments.
