Newark’s dominant landmark and cultural hub is undeniably the University of Delaware campus, where the student body nearly matches the city’s population of permanent residents. Accordingly, many of the community’s resources are tailor-made for the collegiate crowd: an eclectic mix of restaurants and nightlife venues lines Main Street on the north side of campus, and affordable apartments are easy to find anywhere in town.
Despite the fact that it is primarily a college town, Newark maintains a diverse population with rental options available to suit any lifestyle. The sprawling nature preserves that border the northern end of the city provide gorgeous settings for hiking, camping, canoeing, and simply enjoying the great outdoors. Just thirty minutes from Wilmington, Newark also makes an excellent home base for commuters.

Property Ratings at Main Street Court Apartments
The people who work with you are pretty nice, but the building itself has some issues to be aware of. The wifi is advertised as free, but it barely works. You definitely need to pay for xfinity. The walls are paper thin too and you can hear people just talking outside. Whenever there's a party on the floor I can hear. Otherwise it's a nice location, very close to the shopping center and all of main street.
I had been having troubles with apartments around the area not renting to me and didn’t know why, every other apartment complex just said no but Lisa the owner called me and asked me to come in to the office to talk, she had gotten my background check back. Turns out I have a common name and the “others” aren’t such good people. I have been serving in the Army for the last 14 years and Lisa asked a few questions and assisted me in getting an apartment. The staff are all super friendly, and the apartment looks great. Renovated everything and in the heart of downtown on Main St. within walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. I highly recommend these apartments.
