I absolutely hate malard bay the grounds are full of dog poop! They dont salt when is snows. Kasey the leasing agent put my brother in a apartment with bugs. I stayed with him for 1 week and they refused to do anything about it! The street lights and porch lights are always out. I talked to a young maintenance guy a few weeks ago and he said they refuse to let him change the fixtures. The area manager doesnt answer i called the office 5 times at all different times and all i get is she is on lunch or she will call you back. Who takes lunch at 11am?!

I have lived here a little while. I was searching for a one ved with washer dryer fireplace and private balcony. The front office had multiple units they were willing to put me in. Holly and Erin are the sweetest young ladies, i have ever had the pleasure of talking to. They answered all 100 questions I had. The maintenance fixed a leak and my dryer the same day i put in the work order. The area manager is always smiling and courteous.

First off their apartments are SO cold in the winter. The windows suck and the cold just comes in. Management doesn’t fix anything and the garbage disposal backs up in you dishwasher so you can’t use it. Not to mention their tv and internet package is dish. So expect it to got out 3-4 times a week. You have to call maintenance to fix it and they never show up. Not worth the money.

My husband and I moved to this apartment complex between 2014 and 2015. We moved out as soon as our one year lease agreement was up. We consistently had issues with our heating and air conditioning unit not working properly, or not working at all. This caused a fluctuation in our NIPSCO bill, which should have been compensated by the apartment. Also, we were charged over $600 for "damage" to our carpet, which we left in good condition. To future tenants-PLEASE DOCUMENT EVERYTHING! I ended up filing a claim in small claims court against the landlord, and only upon doing so (with our pictures of how we left the apartment) did I get the "damage" charges dropped from my bill, and actually received money OWED to us. DO NOT LIVE HERE. PERIOD.
I have visited Mallard Bay apartments and stayed in their courtesy suite as I was only in town for a week. The apartment was modern, spacious, and the lake views were stunning even though there was an ice storm the week I stayed. It was very quiet. The neighbors were friendly and waived a lot. The staff was very sweet and even though I did t have any problems, they asked me when I went into the office. Great location near Chicago but far enough away to feel like your in the quaint country.
Very pleased with Holly. She made apartment shopping fun. She is very efficient and her follow up was awesome!

Mallard Bay terrible they bait & switch with showing you a model apartment & tell you the units are not available to look at. The apartments themselves are in shambles, bugs, leaks, high crime, & thugs a renters. They fee you to death with poor TV/ Internet, Garbage/ Water fees, & pet fees. Office & Maintenance staff don't take calls or return them. They never repair or clean. When you move out they keep your deposit & try and come up with miscellaneous mysterious fees. Some fees they don't even identify they call the "recurring". Biggest mistake moving into this apartment complex. Apparently by reviews it is the same for all apartment managed by Edward Rose of Indiana. My Cousin that is an attorney now will have to litigate these charges in small claims court.

Great location. Off the leash dog park. And private entries for every unit. That's about the only good things this place has to offer. I have two dogs and my fiancé and I share a one bedroom apartment and pay $1200 a month outside of utilities! We have to use the complex's Internet and cable provider which are beyond terrible. The dish always goes out. Channels disappear and reappear randomly. The internet which we pay for the fastest one, constantly lags or runs slow. There is nothing special about this place to pay so much money. Our old apt was a one bedroom and was $750 for two dogs and that included water and gas! I can't wait for my lease to be up at this place. They never email or call back from voice mails and just seem like an unprofessional staff except the maintainace staff who luckily do things in a timely manner and returns calls etc. I would not recommend this place unless u only care about a great location.

We have been here 2 1/2 months and regret it more than words can express. We have a 2bd 2b and 1 bath is unusable because the tub has a deep crack. Our rent has gone up every month, the satellite didn't work for 3 weeks, and I have given them a list of 37 things that need addressing every week that hasn't been fixed yet. When you ask a question the answer is always, "I don't know ". Stay away- you will regret moving here.

I love it so much but it cost to much money grate place to live
Mallard Bay Apartments recently made a lot of changes within the last couple of months with their staff. I used to be a very unhappy tenant. I am so happy to announce a job well done to every one. Nice and friendly pleasant staff with no attitudes. All of my problems were completely addressed. I had been living here for a year in a half. The new staff of Maintenance fixed my previous issues with my furnace. The new management fixed the issues the old management failed to fix; and with haste. The new property manager apologized for the issues of the past. She promised to fix my issues and said I would never have to worry about that ever again; the promise has still been kept. She's a woman of her word and has taken good care of me as a tenant. Thank you, Velicia
What a perfect place to call home after a long day's work. Unlike many other apartments where a lake-view is the 'luck of the draw', these unique garden apartments are designed and built around two cemetrically-shaped ponds, grassy-knolls with a gentle spray of lighted fountains where every resident has a breathtaking view of his/her own personal paradise. It is home to mallards which is its namesake, rendering occasional visits from gorgeous white cranes and magnificent bald-eagles. And if you are particularly outdoorsy, the ponds are stocked for 'catch and release' fishing in a pet and eco-friendly environment that has the feel of seclusion yet is only minutes from exquisite shopping and fine dining. Sounds expensive? It's surprisingly affordable where selling your first born is not a prerequisite to quality living.
