Property Ratings at Mallard Glen and Adams Place
The Company does not care to fix any problems after you sign that lease. I would never recommend anyone I care about to rent from this company.

We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a more positive experience with us at Mallard Glen. Your feedback matters to us, and we certainly know that we can do better. We hope you will give us another opportunity to show you the excellent service that we are typically known for providing. We look forward to the opportunity to assist you.
I lived here for almost 3 years starting in 2019. It was a nice community at first but slowly the tenets that moved in changed it. Destroying the amenities, Trash everywhere, Weed smell and people blasting music at the pool at 1am like their aren't others living in the community really drove me out. Also there was some vandalism to my car a couple times. The office had my car towed because my SC tags were expired by a month, and that had nothing to do with me living in the community. The roaches started showing up closer to the end of my stay here. Nice neighborhood just the tenets here are awful. Rent was manageable at first but after going up almost $500 with not one single improvement to the property was the final straw.
Avery, Mike, and Marcus are the best Maintenance Team on the planet. We had an issue with our apartment and these 3 stayed until everything was fixed and working correctly. Thanks Angela Glover
This was a really nice neighborhood up until about a year ago. Now, there are multiple drug dealers living in this community, constant vandalism, animal neglect, garbage EVERYWHERE. The "amenities" are constantly closed due to people trashing them. It's disgusting and only getting worse.

Mimi J., thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We regret that you had a negative experience, and will use this as an opportunity to improve. We would like to have a better understanding about your experience. Please reach out to us at (704) 769-2568 at your earliest convenience and we will do our best to resolve this with you
Managment takes weeks or more to respond to any problems, if they ever even respond at all. Loud neighbors are plentiful and nothing will be done about them. You'll only be told to take care of it yourself.

I’m going to start by saying it’s not terrible BUT it’s not nothing I would recommend either. The leasing agents in the front agent are horrible. Our microwave was broke from day 3 , maintenance came and taped it back together. Our washing machine was beautiful and huge but it was scraping at the bottom they replaced it with a 1970 small dirty machine. My car has been broken into 3 times. The front office does not give receipts for rent and they lost our money orders one month luckily we keep our own receipts. We finally met the property manager when we were putting in our 60 day notice and I will say she was wonderful, she got our microwave replaced the following weeek.

Mallard Glen has been nice to live at. Traffic is kind of a pain in the afternoon, but it's a great value. Super close to the highway, restaurants, and grocery stores. It isn't a penthouse, but I like it a lot here.

Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day! We can't wait to see you again, have a great day.
First off, charlotte has way too many apartments. After looking at a bunch of them, I picked this one because it had the best value, not too many fees, and was a convenient location. Apartment is nice, people are nice and I enjoy it here.
The people who give this place a good review are either people without standards or people at the front office(I'm guessing people at the front office). I just moved out and they are trying to scam me. They said that the carpet needed to be replaced. 1. They carpet looked better than when I moved in to that nasty apartment complex. 2. They sent me pictures of a different apartment and still going to charge me for the carpet. These people don't care about you, you are just a number...
Property Manager at Mallard Glen and Adams Place, Responded To This Review
I am very sorry that your move out experience was not a pleasant one, and we thank you for your comments.
For where the apartment is located and the price they offer, it does the job. If don't you have money to go anywhere else JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ANYWAY. Advice to the owner of the property, invest some more money and hire a different management company. Had the office staff been trained better on customer service or (basic human empathy) I would not be leaving this review. The office staff could get NEGATIVE STARS if this website had such a thing. The office staff is TERRIBLE. Don't trick yourself into falling for it because they will be nice in the beginning (that's the one part of their job they have down) but towards the end of your lease they will BILL you bankrupt. They nitpick random charges and are completely rude. There is a pear shaped red head woman in the front office and she is by far the snobbiest person I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. The front office staff is extremely unprofessional and does a terrible job representing the property. Instead of leaving a letter or an email regarding a certain situation they just simply CAME INTO my apartment with NO NOTICE. No one was home and to be honest, I felt incredibly violated. I have no problem letting someone into my home if they just let me know. However, they made no attempt to alert me that they would be entering my home. Apartment has no security measures on site, and there are multiple break ins throughout the year. Its rare you can drive through the community without seeing broken window glass in the parking lot. ALSO A TIP: If you're shopping for an apartment and are reading reviews for Mallard glen, I hope you know their office staff leaves their own positive reviews on their own property!!! Match the names of the good reviews with the girls in the office. Just FYI so you don't fall into the scam

Thank you so much for your comments. I am so sorry that you have not had a positive experience, and I invite you to contact our community manager to discuss your concerns.
I signed a lease from them for until March 2018. I found someone that'll take my place and went to them to start the paperwork back in August/September. The lady I talked to said that they will start the paperwork and contact us to come in. I called today to check on the process and now (as of OCT 1)they have a "policy" change that it doesn't matter what happens you CANNOT be removed from a lease until it's over. The policy is retroactive and it doesn't matter if it is in your lease or not. So, basically they can do whatever they want and you have to abide by their policies, no matter if it's in your lease or not. They sandbagged the process of me getting off the lease until I was under this new policy. It's a shady company that I will never do business with again.
The apartment is great. The surrounding area could be a little better, but with all the construction nearby its sometimes difficult to get out and go places.
My family and I moved in two weeks ago and so far, so good. The grounds are clean, the complex is quiet, the apartment is nice and spacious. A few things that I wish were available would be the amenities. There seems to be only one trash dump/ compactor for the whole complex, it'd be nice if there was a resident center where a computer, fax and copier was available for use and lastly, it'd be great if there was an area that residents can rent out to entertain...such as a club house.
I've lived here for 4 years without a problem. Its a great beginner apartment for anybody in their twenties looking to live in a quiet, college kid free, place to live.
Mallard Glen is in a great location by university area and is located right near I-85 which is nice. The staff has been great so far and helped me move in a week early
After getting my deposit back, I'm extremely glad I left and disappointed in the apartment complex. The apartment itself was expensive and they still found ways to upcharge us on the deposit for $40 on the oven drip pans. I don't even know what those are and wouldn't have touched them. Seems like an easy way to get $40 out of every guest because that's certainly not something I would have looked for on move in day. I also lined my kitchen drawers so they would not get dirty and still got charged for that. And after bleaching my entire bathroom until it was spotless I got charged for a mess. Little irritated on all of that plus the loud yard work that happened every day at 7am and constant problems with neighbors.
