Property Ratings at Mallard Ridge
Deep Lake Apartaments are fantastic. The property manager Eris is also very proffesional and caring. We really appreciate that.
Halfway through our second lease and we will for sure be renewing for our third. We love to call mallard ridge our home. The space is beautiful especially if you have children or dogs. The location is perfect. Maintenance request are always done on a timely manner and everybody in the office is very helpful and polite.
Mallard has a very severe flooding problem. Patios and sidewalks flood when it rains, making access to the parking lot without sloshing through huge puddles difficult. Despite tenant complaints, management continues to ignore the problem, which has been going on for years. While management is quite willing to increase rent, they are unwilling to fix the flooding problem. Don't move here if you have other options.
Mallard Ridge property has had a huge flooding problem for years now. Not being addressed by owners. Patios and sidewalks constantly flood leaving no good way to get to parking lot without walking through water or around in the mud. Have ruined several pairs of shoes. Complaints do nothing. I would not recommend moving here as rents continue to go up, but flooding problem is ignored. Red Seal management refuses to deal with this issue, despite numerous tenant complaints, as it probably will cost a lot to fix.
Jessica is fantastic. Any problem we have had one phone call takes care of it. The maintenance people are always polite and helpful letting me into our apartment after I locked my keys in there late one night. They came within minutes and didn't charge us anything. The woman that cleans is very friendly. She always talks to me and my dog as we leave the building. They are always quick to shovel and plow during the winter and the landscaping is nicely done. Having a forest preserve right behind us is a super nice perk. The apartments are spacious but could use some updating. The summer dies bring plenty of spiders to the porch area though. We never called the office but I'm sure something would be done. We are moving after two years here because of distance to our jobs but it is one of the hardest apartments to compete with. The area has everything you could want or need within a short drive. I'm sad to be leaving
The office manager is horrible, she is very rude if you have a complaint. Most of the neighbors are loud at night and slam the sliding doors all the time. They plow the snow late after its done snowing, so that morning is awful trying to drive out of the parking lot. They dont salt the parking lot either so the spots are hard to pull into, because of all the ice. The appliances and basically everything in the building needs to be updated. Within a month of moving in, we had to replace our fridge. There is no light in the bedroom, which is ridiculous. And there are millions of spiders on the deck. Lastly, the laundry room is horrible because people will steal your clothes and take them out before they are even done washing or drying! This happened to me multiple times. Do not live here, you will regret it!
i love the fact that we were able to keep our pitbull, not many apartments do. I also love the neighborhood and our spacious apartments floor plan. I think the apartment can use some updates on the appliances and wish there was washer & dryers in units.
I've lived in these apartments for three months so far and am very happy with my decision! Apartments are very nice and the landscape is well maintained. I have a beautiful view from my balcony and love being walking distance from the forest preserve and dog park. Maintenance requests are resolved extremely quick and the staff in leasing are very kind and welcoming. I would recommend these apartments to anyone, great area also!
I've lived in Mallard Ridge Apartments twice now: once, as my very first apartment years ago with a roommate, and again now on my own. There's a reason I came back - it's one of the best apartment complexes I've ever lived in. If it had a washer/dryer in the apartment (the only flaw), I'd probably never want to move into a house or townhome! Mallard Ridge has roomy apartments with much more space than the apartments I've had elsewhere. It also has a smarter layout, no major odd corners or frustrating room shapes. And I love the unique "breakfast nook" window area. It's cozy and charming and brings in good light (but not too much). The amenities are terrific (central A/C and heat, dishwasher and microwave, walk-in closet, large storage closet, laundry room on the second floor, etc.), and utilities are reasonable. Overall, it's a clean, well-kept complex, there's always plenty of parking in the available lots, and the neighborhood feels safe. Along with the park (tennis courts, baseball field, and other areas for fun), there are plenty of walking paths, including a forest preserve. There's a grocery store within walking distance, and if you want to venture out farther, I-94, Great America Theme Park, Gurnee Mills Mall and all the surrounding shops and restaurants are only about 10 minutes away by car. The apartment buildings are well-lit and kept clean, and if you happen to need maintenance, they're quick to respond. The apartment manager is friendly, reasonable and helpful. I've had five different apartments over the years, and this one is the one I think of most fondly. There's a reason I came back. It's the best in the area. (Now if only they'd add washer/dryers within the apartments! Then it would be perfect.)
I lived at Mallard Ridge for one year and wish that I could have stayed there longer. From the minute that I visited, I was impressed with how well the complex is maintained. I was able to tour the apartment that I ended up leasing, which was a huge bonus. I was looking to have a lot of space, and these apartments are very spacious. Jessica, the complex manager, is fantastic. She was always friendly, helpful, and professional. Maintenance was awesome. They often came the same day and were thorough and friendly in handling requests. There's a grocery store within walking distance and a nice park across the street where concerts happen in the summer and people play sports. The neighborhood that is adjacent to the park provides a great place for walking or biking. There are many sidewalks and a lot of green space for walking pets (as well as a permit-required, off-leash dog park across the street!) Overall, I just loved this apartment and complex and highly recommend it to anyone. If we were still in Illinois, we would have been happy here for many years to come.
recently i have visited Mallard Ridge its nice and secured apartments, and i placed request in their office to move in 2 bedroom apartment. once its available i will moved in .
Property Manager at Mallard Ridge, Responded To This Review
My family and I have lived here for 1 year and just re-signed our lease for 2 years. Best apartments we have ever lived in. Spacious enough for our 2 year old and cats to play and still leave plenty of room for company. The people in the office and maintenance are nice and always helpful. I recommend this place to everyone who mentions they are looking for a place to live.
