Property Ratings at Manchester Gardens
Almost every window in my apartment is broken doesn't stay up or doesn't lock. (Still not fixed) They don't finish Plowing parking lots till days after the storm. The lawn care people trim the bushes but never pick up the trimmings up, the trimming stay on the ground all year long I pick up my Bush trimmings up every year.(Smh) And the real reason for this review a car parked in my parking lot taking up 2 spots and 1/2 the driveway for 3 days. They won't do anything about it but car sitting there leaking oil all over the place. (It's a big eyesore) I called the office 3x about it. I'm having family or for Easter and it looks like a junkyard out here.
Very affordable, quiet, the hardwood floors are great, the office is great. I've lived here for more than 10 years. Highly recommended.
Pros: spacious units - large closets - wood floors - large numbers of stray cats keep mice population down Cons: Extremely old buildings. Heating is erratic - days where it is off completely, days when it is a sauna in your apartment. Water - pressure is crazy high (slightest turn of a faucet will result in a flood of water). Shower temperature fluctuation -- will go from ice cold to burning hot in under a second sometimes, which makes showering difficult. They may not give you a full set of keys, and will ask you to pick which entry door you want a key to, which I've never experienced before now. Old units means warped floors and uneven doors. Kitchens are old, decrepit, and surprisingly small. Appliances are broken and old (oven displays broken, fridge shelves cracked, etc). Parking is a nightmare. Laundry is expensive and often broken without warning. Windows are put in cheaply - temporary screens are still in, which fall out, windows misaligned and hard to open or lock. Bathrooms are from another era completely: toilet is TINY, the smallest I've ever sat on, seriously; sink is small and placed quite low, making any sink related activity painful. Walls are painted an unpleasant beige. General grime and dirt everywhere. Owners and managers do not care at all about any complaints. Overpriced. Look elsewhere.
Just moved in and prior to moving in, we had concerns that the lady said would be addressed. Ok fine... moving day there wasnt even a refrigerator. The amount of dirt in crevices and in window seals, all the heaters are piled with dirt on top and inside. The apartment was never freshly painted. The bathtub faucet literally flew off the wall and we had to fix it. The toilet seat was broken off and wasnt even given a new one until many complaints. The oven is ancient and cant even read dials. We scrubbed the kitchen and it still smells awful. Pretty sure there is mold under the cabinets. They do not take care of the apartments and need better maintenance who know what theyre actually doing. Even the window locks and screens were broken. The amount paid and for what youre getting is disgusting. I would never recommend this place. Dont even give you blinds or at least one ac... place is ridiculous smh....
I recently fractured my wrist because I fell on ice. The place could have prevented this from occurring by throwing salt. According to them they did but according to my arm they didn’t.
Mi wife and I lived at Manchester Gardens for 2 years, we now have a two bedroom, we started on a 1 bedroom, but my mom lives with us, the apartment is very convenient and private, we live very happy here, our children grew up here at Manchester Gardens, the maintenance employees are very good, when we needed a refrigerator they worked quickly and getting us a different one. I am going to stay here for a long time.
