In recent years, Asheville has developed a reputation as one of the hippest and most exciting cities in the South, and living downtown puts you at the center of it all. The city’s famous Art Deco architecture creates a picturesque setting with the surrounding mountains providing a beautiful scenic backdrop.
On the west side, the historic Grove Arcade is surrounded by popular hangouts: whether you’re looking to eat, drink, or just go shopping, chances are you’ll find yourself walking this way pretty often. Beer lovers will be in heaven with a huge selection of breweries like Wicked Weed and Green Man as well as countless watering holes all around the neighborhood. Downtown is also a major hub for the arts, with tons of great galleries along Broadway and Biltmore, plus live music at venues like The Altamont and independent film screenings at Fine Arts Theatre. Living in Downtown Asheville puts the best of the city just a few steps outside your front door.

Property Ratings at Maple Crest Apartments
the worst place to live, a lot of drugs, weapons... if you love your family don't live here, a lot of lack of control over all this... your family is not safe in this place..
Good luck ever getting ahold of these people. They don’t answer the phone except to hang up on you, and they don’t return voicemails. Majority of the time they leave the voicemail full so that you can’t leave a message.
When I first moved in I had high hopes. Things looked nice and shiny and new. The original property manager was out quickly and Janelle seemed to be better than her. High hopes did not last long! This place is quickly turning back in to the projects it was formerly. Cigarette butts and unattended children everywhere, loud music at all hours, maintanence requests that go unanswered. Unclean common areas. A real disappointment.
The staff treats you as if you cannot ask questions. I understand trying to avoid “expectations” when waiting for application processes but they don’t take the time to answer questions fully. All they do is take your number and say they will call you back — which they don’t. I understand having a significant amount of applicants but you can still be professional and answer questions accordingly. I feel they don’t care to provide good customer service because this is an income based property. The management has a lot to work on because they don’t provide a sense of security and it makes such a beautiful property seem so janky.
I only been staying here for less than one month. The first day I moved in my hot water was not working. I called the emergency number but was told this does not fall under an emergency since it was after 10pm. I was advised to call back at 7 am so I did. The maintenance guy did not come until four hours later. He come in at took one look at it and start blaming the construction crew. He went on to say the hot water issue was a known issue. Then he add how he was the only maintenance worker right now and stay very busy due to the mistakes the construction crew keep making. He said he never seen a crew like this before. He was not able to fix my hot work and said it may get fixed by Tuesday which said on a Saturday. Then he asked me if I know how to boil water. At time I was not unpacked. I have not hot water a total of three different times. Then when I went to Jenelle she added my issue to the list of other problems and said she did not have confidence that my hot will not stop again. Not having hot water has negatively impact my disability. The wiring for the internet was not done correctly and it caused me lose holidays pay at work. The office put the blame on me. The locks on the back door are so easy to break into. I locked myself out and popped the lost in less than 2 seconds with a knife. I brought this issue to them and it was not taken seriously at first. Because I have been very voicemail about these many issues they decided to lie on me by saying I violated the lease because they smell smoke. I have never smoked in this apartment. Also I have neighbors and we all know smoke travel. They only claim to check my apartment. The manager Jenelle is doing nothing about this matter because she wants me to stop complaining about the inaccuracies in the building. The building behind had to deal with the fire alarm going of for five days and maple crest let it go on for this long. Also I have witness people break in. When I mentioned it I was told it is a known issue that homeless people break in to sleep. This place is not safe place they make it seem. Yes it look nice on the outside but I would not be surprised is these building collapse. There another lady name Blanca who has not been helpful and spreading lie about me to. It’s only one person in the office know a little but the rest of the staff is very incompetent.
Wonderful customer service, Ms. Jenelle and her team have gone above and beyond to help my family and myself with relocation and the apartments are gorgeous!!! Very upscale designs and fully equipped with everything a home and community should be!!!! I'm truly blessed to have had the chance to move in at M.C.A . Also they went out of their way to make sure that I had the right unit for my disability and that I would have all the amenities that would make my family feel at home. Also the apartment community is very safe and secure. If you're looking for all inclusive living then this is it! Thanks again Ms. Jenelle! -Christy V.
