Property Ratings at Marabella Apartments
For an apartment complex on the nice side of town it’s pretty crappy I’ve requested and paid for a washing and dryer 3 WEEKS AGO STILL HAVING TO WAS MY CLOTHES AT A LAUNDROMAT at first before I paid the deposit, THEY WERE BLOWING UP MY PHONE now I can’t even get a hold of anybody. And more than 1 person here smokes weed and it stinks that’s a terrible don’t come here because it’s cheap leave don’t get sucked in the only deal you’re getting is a lot of evil for the price of YOUR TIME AND MONEY
Bugs. Stopped up plumbing. Crumbling dirty laundry rooms. Leaky ceilings. Noisy ac. Filthy pools. Ew
Original management was awesome 5 years ago and maintenance crew was top notch. Today there is a new owner, new manager and new maintenance and none worthy. Couldn't wait for my lease to end to get out but then they slap you in the face with fictitious charges to eat up your deposit and then add on a few more made up repairs to bill you when you leave ignoring the law. Can you say "normal wear and tear"? They will charge you for anything and everything to get your money when you move out and you are forced to go to small claims court to dispute it because they will not resolve it. All the other reviews are mostly true. The water comes out of the tap at coffee temperature. Seriously, you can make hot coffee with tap water. Water pipes are always breaking in the unit as well as outside. They refuse to pay for damage citing renters insurance even though the damage is due to their pipes so should be paid by their liability insurance but you will have to go to court for that too. If you move there you will have to deal with water being shut off on a regular basis for so called emergency repairs. I call it neglect. Maintenance requests will go unanswered and will even be marked as completed but when you move those repairs that never got done will be charged to you. BEWARE! You've been warned.
Awful place to live, ladies in the office are rude and don't give a crap about anyone that lives there..bugs every where (no pest control unless you wanna pay it) , flooding, lights don’t work, ac doesn’t work, water randomly turns freezing cold or boiling hot in the shower, no microwave. Management doesn’t answer calls ever.
I applied for this apartment FOUR weeks ago. They asked for $200 for a deposit and application fee. It states on their website that if you don’t get the apartment, you get a refund. I have been fighting with them for TWO weeks now trying to get my money back. I can’t get through to the main office, just an answering service and each time they say they’ll pass along my message, I never get a call back. I called yesterday and the answering service said they were on lunch and to call back in 30-40 minutes. I call back an hour later, they tell me the main office phone lines are down. I told them they owe me $200 and I will call back every single day until I get my refund. This apartment company is a JOKE.
My experience here was fine at first..... my apartment flooded TWICE, the roof fell in in the bathroom about THREE times. I called the front desk numerous times for all different reasons and it would be days before I got a response IF I even got one even had the manager call me a lier when I asked about my pet deposit... they lost a 1050$ money order of mine and had the nerve to ask me if I paid rent for that month.... they cant keep records for NOTHING!!! Luckily I keep all my receipts ?? now they're saying my 250$ deposit is being kept on top of my 150$ pet deposit AND I owe an additional 177$ ?? and did I mention the mold I called about and was told it wasn't mold??? I wish I would've paid more attention to the reviews and what others who lived here before said about this place....I even had one of the staff members suggest I get a p.o. box when I asked about my missing mail ?? had a friend over for a couple of days and she brought her dog.... woke up to a letter stating I had TWO unauthorized pets in my home ?? mind you I had paid my pet deposit for MY DOG and paid 10$ a month FOR MY DOG ohhhh and the leash law?? Dont apply if you're managment !!! I cannot tell you how many times the ASSISTANT MANAGERS PITBULL has ran up to me without a leash on and I stepped in dog poop in dang near every pair of shoes I own ?? I even got a note on my door saying I need to take down my Halloween decorations but I never even put up Halloween decorations ?? just save your money people!!! It's overpriced for the crap you'll go through....
At first when we moved here we were very happy with our small 2 bed apartment although what they showed to us during viewing was a lot bigger then what they gave to us. But after first month we started to regret moving here, like a lot of the other reviews these buildings are just too old. I can hear every foot step my upstairs neighbors take and I mean it almost sound like they are in the apartment. I have found myself getting up at night to check my living room cause noise is so loud. On top of that you have to wait about 15-25 minutes for the hot water to come on. And NOW our AC has gone out, right after the upstairs neighbors toilet had flooded our bathroom. Which we had to sit in water for bout 2 days cause they tried to rig the leak with duck tape and some sort of insulation. Yes I did laugh when I saw it. And yes it did not work and continued to leak. they finally fixed it, but forgot to put the padding back under our carpet or even offer to put a fan down to dry our carpet, and is probably growing mold now. Back to the AC which is what I'm dealing with now, it has been out for 2 weeks now and they keep telling us its fixed and its not, they have given us a window unit which they politely plugged into the living room sitting on top of a bucket while me and my wife was gone, and the thing was leaking...so once again me and my wife had to clean up another flooded room for the idk... the 6th time? And my AC still has not been fixed, I have a 6 month old baby boy that gets hot at night and I hope they will eventually get it fixed...as of now we do have the window unit in his room, but me and my wife do not get much sleep at night.
We've had a fairly positive experience since living at Salado. The landscaping is beautiful! They obviously put a huge emphasis on the look and feel of the property. The pool and hut tub area is nice and centrally located. The playground and the fitness center are awesome! The complex itself is in a good area, it feels safe to be here. Plus, it's less than a mile from restaurants, gas stations and super markets. They seem to be strict with doing background checks and, thusly, most of the neighbors we've had have been excellent! Now, on the "not so good" side.... The buildings themselves were built in the 70's, and it does show a little. Since living here we've visited at least a dozen of the units. Each one seems to be in a different state of "updating." Some seem to be completely refurbished while others could obviously use some TLC for the price you pay for rent. The most annoying thing we've experienced is the AC troubles. We've lived in 2 different units and have had to put in work orders cause the AC was out at least 10 or more times. I will say that when we have had problems, they have been fixed diligently. Most of the staff has been friendly and helpful, though we did have a few negative encounters with an employee that no longer works here. Overall, I think it's up to the individual to determine if Salado is right for them. I'd definitely recommend checking out the property and doing a walk through, though! You may just fall in love! :-)
This place is awful! The office delayed my move-in without notice, they did not do a proper make-ready, and some of the repair issues I reported upon moving in have never been addressed. After moving in, my apartment flooded twice (and each time they claimed it was an isolated incident). Not only did the office claim they were not responsible for the damages to my personal property, but they refused to let me out of the lease. Clean up from both floods was poor at best, and nonexistent at worst. The water was also shut off to either the annex or building I live in over a dozen times for emergency repairs. The noise from upstairs neighbors (I've had 3 in 10 months) is terrible, as is noise from outside the apartment; although, to be fair, I've never heard the neighbors on either side of me. Altogether, my entire experience with this place has been frustrating and unpleasant.
My wife and I have lived here for over a year and we absolutely love this property. Any maintenance issues are promptly fixed. The grounds are kept clean. The office staff is fantastic and will help in any way they can. We both love it here and will stay here for quite some time.
I lived here for a little over a year. Some of the staff are great others aren't. Maintenance usually was pretty good. They did enter my apartment 2 times without notice which I was not happy about and let them know and was compensated. I had great neighbors the entire time I was there it was very quiet. The pools are nice, although I didn't use them often. I did have a problem with roaches when I first moved in but terminex comes pretty often. Very safe environment.
My brother and I lived here for a little over a year. Over this time, our place flooded a number of times and upper management did not seem to care. In fact, they claimed the issue was fixed yet it would keep occurring. Roaches abound in the place and we are both clean freaks. The photos look nice but the overall build of the place is showing its age. I wouldn't recommend living here
Our apartment flooded multiple times. They said each time was an isolated incident, but they were all issues that could have been fixed prior to the flooding. The last and largest incident led me to want to move out two months early. I had to fight with office management to only get 10 days taken off our lease.
